I just noticed something kind of strange. When I was looking at the pictures, the firts thing I thought was 'Stock Photos'. And they look it. But Google Image search turned up nothing. Well, except the Nirvana cover and the Titanic. But those are very common pictures. Maybe I wasn't searching properly, but I couldn't find any of the other inages, anywhere. Even the Zepplin picture, which I know I've seen before, wasn't there. There were alot that were similar, but none exactly. Anyways, just found that kind of odd. I was thinking, find the site with some of the pictures, find the next clue. But no. What about the numbers? Do they have any meaning? Also, anybody know what molecular forumla is in picture 104? I almost flunked Chem last year, or I'd be all over it. Embarassed Also also, the cans and flowers look like they say 'Balline' on them, but Google gives nadda.

Also also also, there's two numbered 78 (skulls and car) and two numbered 104 (structure and medictions). There sure feels like theres some pattern going on here. Here's the numbers for ya'll:

67
57 55
58
__78__71__78 __77 86 83 94 96
__104________________99 X 104

X = the moon thingy

I remember dmax had some sort of music album trail going at one time or another. IF I'm forced to go back into my logs, I will. Related?

By the by, and for posterity...

#67: That isn't the actual picture from the Led Zeppelin album cover, I don't think. So, maybe The Hindenburg is the most important kloo.
#57: The name of the album, of course, is Nevermind, released in 1991 by Geffen/Sub Pop.
#55: from the movie Galaxy Quest starring Tim Allen, Sigourney Weaver, Alan Rickman, and Tony Shaloub.
#58: is La Baleine Sea Salt
    #71: Definitely the Titanic.
#78(b): looks more like the mercedes benz SL-400 to me.
#77: someone working in a foundry.

The actual album cover is the same idea, but drawn by hand. And I also found this, which caught my eye beacuse the skulls were arranged in the same way. But jeeze, if that isn't the most random collection of pictures ever. Shocked

The three skulls is actually a photograph of the catacombs running beneath Paris, France, taken by Eve Anderson.

ETA: Scratch that, there are differences, but they are markedly similar. I'd wager it's the same location if not the same photographer.

Also Also Wik: dmax is the one who did the legwork on this, so thanks mate.

Good call. I watched a show about those catacombs once. Couldn't sleep for weeks after that. Craaaazy.

77 = smelting... closest thing i could find was this pic relating to a case-study in iluka...i'd keep a question mark on this one

It's not the same picture, but it definatly looks like it was taken at the same time. The guy dressed the same etc etc he's just on the other side of the smelting...tube...thingy.

It reminds me of the Periodic Table of Elements
helium/zeppelin
lithium/nirvana
sodium
nickel
iron/steel worker
titanium/titanic

Oh man. Shocked That is a very good guess. Man, I really should have actually gone to Chem class. Here's a quick table for ya. http://www.webelements.com/
Figured:
The salt stuff = Potassium (potassium chloride)
The car = Chromium
The color blue = Cobalt (err...?)
The police/cop = Copper
The main structure of bones = Calcium
The moon is silver (...?) = Silver
Main ingredient in batteries = Cadmium
The big rock thing is made of beryllium = Beryllium
Palladium is the company who makes RIFTS = Palladium
Oysters contain the most zinc out of all food = Zinc

Whoo hoo! What about..Yttrium...that might be the composition for it...

Neat puzzle. Point for drizr for catching that one. Now that we know what the structure is, what do we do with it? And what about those numbers? They don't seem to corrispond with the atomic weights, melting/boiling points, or any other physical properties. Maybe figure what would happen when you react it with the element that is numbered? I just know this is payback for all those skipped classes. Evil or Very Mad

Ah. It's can't be reactions because all the numbers are for metallic elements which makes, not including Helium (because it's crazy like that), all of them metals. Hmm. Well, I'll let you kids bust some brain on this one. G'night!

Well, here's a chart with abreviations - atomic number - number on letter

H - 1 - 67
Li - 3 - 57
Be - 4 - 55
Na - 11 - 58
Ca - 20 - 78
Ti - 22 - 71
Cr - 24 - 78
Fe - 26 - 77
Co - 27 - 86
Ni - 28 - 83
Cu - 29 - 94
Zn - 30 - 96
Y - 39 - 104
Pd - 46 - 99
Ag - 47 - Moon
Cd - 48 - 104

And in order

55 - Be
57 - Li
58 - Na
67 - H
71 - Ti
77 - Fe
78 - Cr
78 - Ca
83 - Ni
86 - Co
94 - Cu
96 - Zn
99 - Pd
104 - Cd
104 - Y

Producing the message:

BELINAHTIFECRCANICOCUZNPDCDY

Well, maybe it's in Klingon?

Here's just the first letter of the symbol

BLNHTFCCNCCZPCY

<shrug>

I'm sleepy.

That would be Sodium Chloride (NaCl) for salt.
