 		hmmmm maybe the key is emitting heat... more likely TA didnt actually go out, and was lying isnt it the time she said 'im going out right now!' so she might not have really gone out it might just have been for effect.

The heat sensors are tracking heat, all heat in the building. However, the heat logs page clearly says "heat logs have been filtered to show only people" or something along those lines. To filter out persons from all the other heat, you would need some kind of tag, a key, for instance.

Not really. It would be easy enough to discount non-living heat sources as they would be completely static. Also I'm sure that the human body gives off a pretty distinct heat source (as opposed to say, the family cat?) that could be traced. Why class them as heat sensors if they are, in fact, just tracking keys?
