Oh, cool. Because I was just about ready to go to the Toyota forum to ask for those... but I guess I'll save 'till I need toilet-bowl cleaning tips.

Well, maybe someone from the first 4 pages of results might be able to help you out more than we can.....( I am assuming that you have flooded everyone of them with you dire need for turnip recipes) or were we just the "lucky" chosen ones???

You were the lucky ones! You seemed like a good lot of people, and it looked like there was a general enough board to post on. I suppose I was wrong, though...this is like..rpg? Something like that?

But can I interest you in a good cucumber pie?

Kinda but not exactly. Taken from ARGN
Quote:
Alternate Reality Gaming is, according to CNET, "...an obsession-inspiring genre that blends real-life treasure hunting, interactive storytelling, video games and online community...

"These games are an intensely complicated series of puzzles involving coded Web sites, real-world clues like the newspaper advertisements, phone calls in the middle of the night from game characters and more. That blend of real-world activities and a dramatic storyline has proven irresistible to many."

These games (which are usually free to play) often have a specific goal of not only involving the player with the story and/or fictional characters but of connecting them to the real world and to each other. Many game puzzles can be solved only by the collaborative efforts of multiple players, sometimes requiring one or more players to get up from their computers to go outside to find clues or other planted assets in the real world.

For more info, see Sean Stewart's introduction and explanation of The Beast (the first mainstream Alternate Reality Game).

You could probably make a killing if you sold turnip vulva purses and turnip puppets here, too.

I kinda hope turnip_head sticks around. Honestly, I have enjoyed reading this thread more than 97% of the ON-topic threads that are out there right now.

Although I think we need to create another emoticon. I mean, we have "trout" to symbolize "we've already discussed that somewhere else", and "cyclotouriste" to signify "dude your rant has completely gone off the deep end", why not "turnip" as shorthand for "OMFG this is so far off-topic it is probably the most genius thing in the entire world!!!!"?

Bonus points if anyone can somehow work the flaming butt-pencils in there somewhere.

Yeah. So says the guy who just fell off the turnip truck.

Turnip Troll Flambé

An equal number of small turnips and flaming butt pencils
Extra Virgin Olive Oil
Kosher salt

Rub turnips with oil and sprinkle liberally with salt. Skewer onto flaming butt pencils. Roast until tender.

Serve with a side of hot air and inflated egos for the true troll experience.

OMG - turnip WTF man must stay! Welcome turnip_head, although I must say I've never found anything good to do with turnips in my cooking.
