Puzzle Trail!

Okay, so I felt I should do something substantive for my 2000th post, and jchillerup was kind enough to let me participate in a puzzle trail he was working on.

So, without further ado, here it is.

The last three puzzles are mine. The rest are all jchillerup's. Smile

Also (credit where credit is due) the concept for the first one of my puzzles came from Angelo. A few individuals may be familiar with my puzzles -- I trust your discretion. Razz

Have at it!

Interestingly enough, I tend to score off the charts on extroversion when I take a personality test.

Bring Snow Spell

Hello there everyone,
here goes my first post! Very Happy
i don't know if this is gonna be of any relevance... but found a little poem/spell called "ode to the snow god"

Let it snow!! Let it Snow!! Let it Snow!!
Oh gods of snow,
let the winds blow.
from north, south, east and west
send us the stuff we love the best!
Make our mountain snowy white,
so we can ski from day to night!
Please grant us this, like seasons past,
to make millennium a blast.

The first puzzle is wiping the floor with me. I think I've tried all the obvious solves... but I just can't branch out from there. Curse the day that song was made!!

Edit: Oh, and sorry for bringing it back on topic. Embarassed

Since all of us in chat have been very lazy, I'll update you with what we have. Credit goes to everyone in chat while we were doing this.

Let it snow...
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
Snow is actually a type of whitespace steganography. There is an applet here where you can decode/encode files. Put the entire source code from the first page into the second box, hit extract and you get:

challenging, huh?

This leads us to http://jcdump.willibee.dk/trail/challenging.html

2nd page:
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
There isn't much in the source code of this page except that it mentions challenging.css. If you look at http://jcdump.willibee.dk/trail/challenging.css , you'll see that it references http://jcdump.willibee.dk/trail/snow.gif

If you open up snow.gif in a graphics program and either flood fill or modify the pallette, you'll find some text:

What are you waiting for? Christmas?

A Google search shows that this line was spoken by Duke Nukem, so it brings you to http://jcdump.willibee.dk/trail/dukenukem.html

Beware tho - that page will just about burn out your eyes.

Edit: Oops, looks like we got in each other's way there... Rolling Eyes
I'll just remove what is already posted and continue past the flashing gif:

Spoiler (Rollover to View):

There's an awful rainbow-flashing-animated-gif running in the background. We googled for the original and noticed that JC's is 4kb while the original is 8kb. After trying destegging, looking for strings and converting to it to all different sorts of media I finally happened upon a page which said that you could just play it in Winamp if something is hidden in there. Did that and got a voice saying "sheep".

Which is where we are right now:

Go to the stats page at http://martavius.com/stats/unfiction_page_2.html and you will see ScarpeGrosse's picture, containing the word "Booty!" Insert her name into the address bar and bam!
