pemesent.com i thought pemesent.com should have its own thread since
it seems to be updating with so much info so quickly
we've got another update...
the "travel" section
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
http://www.pemesent.com/travel.php
it is a metro map for Pemesent and a note about
station closures etc. .. *see below
(i'm attempting to match it to tube stations.. i suspect
londoners might have a better handle on what these
stations are here in this dimension)
*Latest Metro Travel Information
STATION CLOSURE - HIGH HILL, C-ONE LINE
High Hill Metro Station is closed until further notice due repair works. Passengers are recommending to use other lines or buses to complete their journey.
ONGOING MAINTENANCE WORK
Affecting C-One and Vert-Low Lines on Saturdays and Sundays until further notice.
For further updates contact Metro-Line using an VTXT Mobile.
*edit: also the robinson crusoe http://www.deadmentellnotales.com/onlinetexts/robinson/crusoe.shtml
seems to be missing from the source now.. hmm?

I noticed that the weather has changed as well. It's now 14 degrees and VERY rainy. The weather has steadily worsened over the updates. The hidden message locations have changed as well.
I noticed that the contact page still has the original weather. Probably just an oversight.
Any thoughts on the metro map yet?

i've been taking the london tube map and spinning it on
its side, upside down etc. ... trying to match up to the
shape of the pemesent map.. and now i'm looking at
station names ..my favorite is "NearFar"
could "High Hill" be "Tower Hill"?

Just noticed this in the source:
<p onMouseOver="MM_showHideLayers('Layer1','','show')">The Osmoore Estate in the south of the city is in need of regeneration. Peter Humme has put forward proposals for a multi-million investment in the estate. The plans are to demolish some existing tower blocks and replace them with new modern houses.</p>
Sure enough move your mouse over the image and you get this (009.jpg):
*EDIT Also noticed these messages (pemesent.jpg)- im sure ive not seen them before

okay so now the "news" link takes us to
http://www.nyu.edu/classes/siva/archives/000913.html
(which was previously just in the source)
and the "city info" link takes us to
http://www.colorcube.com/illusions/illusion.htm
(which was also previously discovered in the source)
interesting..

New update today. looks like they've been found out. The website has been 'fixed' and an apology is there from the "web-team." We can contact the webteam by email though. I may jot off a message to see what's up.
I haven't looked deep yet to see if anything else is there.
The weather changed again. Sunny now, and 21.
*edit* There was an email to accompany the update.
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
Going to the City Info page produces an error, but there is a hidden layer produced by roll over. It includes a new picture file, 5/6. I won't post it here yet so as not to ruin it, but I have it saved to disk. There is also a code presented:
{-} {-} {-} {-} {-} {-} =3
{-}=2
SYT XTUWF HF XKJ NGAPRFR
__ __ __ __ __ __
I'm gonna get cracking on it, see what turns up.

Just joining in on the game - hi, everyone.
About the new image..
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
I cracked it open in Word, and 005 has a word embedded in it - "Ducky." Tried entering this as a URL in several ways, found nothing. I also tried ROTing the new code, searching for anagrams, etc - nothing so far.

Good catch, Elbows, and welcome to Zoe! I wonder if there is a word embedded in the other two pictures. Feel like checking?
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
I tried uncamouflaging it with Ducky, DUCKY, and ducky as the password and got nowhere.
I'm trying to bust substitution cipher on the code. Any ideas with the brace combos and dashes? Very strange.
There are 6 dashes at the end of the message, and 6 pictures. Not sure if there is a connection.

Updates galore!
The word "Ducky" apparently merely indicates that the image has been edited or something like that (there is some info on unforums on this sinister aspect, see here , for instance). So no password, I'm afraid.
Other than that, I can't get anything from the message using the code we have used before (too many gaps) but I'll keep looking.

Yes, I agree, surely this is more than a coincidence, but I have no idea in what way.

okay i think we should keep the "piano key" roll over in mind
with this code
E and the 4 keys were pictured and
this game has used the computer keyboard prior to
this.. just my two cents..
edit: correction the 4 and the R keys are the two in focus

Good reminder on the keys clue Labfly... I'm quite certain it and the seaside cliff are important, since they are now missing
I'm still working on the cipher.. beginning to think it's not substitution...
I put this together, dunno if it's useful or not:

I'm inclined to agree, after spending some time on it. If it is substitution, then it's really obscure.

Ok really need to stop WoW and get back on this lol
So the pics we have so far could be:
Path/Road/Route
Middle
Blind
I have also been looking at the
6 dashes = 3
and
1 dash = 2
but coming up blanks

remember that REF03.1 folder that
contained the yellow zig-zag arrow
card and the snake puzzle jpg..
did we ever get a good look at the
"thumb.db"? (i just did a search and found
that russell could see it as thumbnail)
what was it, russell? and
any specs on why they sent that to us? and since
it was included in the "REF" folder.. perhaps
we need that to work out this code?
