View From Earth - Proposed Sentinel Articles

I'm assuming this is for people to post the articles they have not yet submitted and/or have not yet been accepted. The articles that were accepted and printed are on the wiki. It sounds like a good idea. Proofreading, whether for spelling/grammar errors or for content, is always a good thing.

Buying into Sente's Scheme

Since the early days of Earth and Perplex City's contact, Sente and his team have been attempting to retrieve the Receda Cube, so far without success, I may add. Many months have passed and his team have little to show for it, except an Earth based product line and a substantial quantity of unused lecks. My question, therefore, is in short: What have Sente and his team been doing? Never mind previous chastisement of the police by others; they lack the resources and to some extent their failure to act decisively is excusable, but the specially formed Cube Retrieval Team was specifically devised for this task and have, so far, failed to complete it.

Such a lack of action may be excusable if it is defined as incompetence or stupidity, but I think that I can safely state that Sente is nether incompetent nor stupid. In my opinion he is, in fact, a supremely cunning and devious individual who has his own personal gain at heart. He seeks simply to line his pockets with the cities money, Perplexian money, and has been aided in as much by the granting of these so called Cube Retrieval Funds which have so far lain dormant in Mr. Kiteway's bank account.

If we examine the theft from this angle then the motive becomes obvious, and the scheme is easy to unravel. The Cube is stolen by hired hands who never learn of Sente's involvement, the Cube Retrieval Team is personally organised and misdirected by Sente; meanwhile the police take no action as they believe the Academy has the theft completely under control. All that is left then is for Sente to request the dispersal of money from the Council and after a suitable time lag return the cube via the retrieval team.

It is a veritable Tour de Force of planning and implementation but obviously not beyond Sente's prodigious talents. Sente, in short, is far from retrieving the cube as many believe, he is in fact behind its disappearance and the Cube's return could easily be expedited by his arrest. I therefore call for Sente Kiteway's removal from the Academy's staff and his subsequent arrest and imprisonment.

Personally, I'd like to see articles with some, uhm, like, hidden puzzle or meaning, or something. But I reckon it's hard enough making an article at all without it having some hidden agenda.

Is 860 words too long for an article?


I'm guessing yes but can't get in down without making it very poor.

As far as I know there is no reason why not. I have never seen a publicised word limit for articles. Just send it - they could always edit.
