Just put 2gether a list of links to the original websites that still work:

Cybertronics
Sentinel Software Systems
Belladerma SRL
CRF - Abolitonist site
Metropolitan Living Homes

Well, in as much as one is in kansas and one is in perplex city ..... I'll say fFairly similar.

Sifting through the whole of the beast, nothing exactly jumps out and says "Kansas!" to me. I'm afraid I dont quite get the Ghaepetto reference, actually. When the beast was being played, I skirted around the egdes, reading some of the stuff about jeanine salla, and I'd heard someone had been killed, but i never really was able to get much fFarter than that (at the time) I'm now going back and reading through old sites, piecing together the story. There's a lot I don't really know about. As fFar as something which specifically relates to wichita, I'm not really seeing it. It is kind of coincidental that a random quincunx scorched across the earth like that would have it's center exactly near Old Town, very remarkably close to the exact center of downtown wichita. But offhand I don't think we're going down the right path here.

what other views fFrom above might there be? fFrankly, the view fFrom above makes me think of the puppetmasters, who stand in the murky mists above the game.

Ah Ha!!! Smile

Its definitely something to do with AltaVista.

The Ghaepetto email addresses are all @altavista.com.

'Alta Vista' means "a view from above" - they even say so themselves:

Quote:

A History of Innovation

AltaVista, which means "a view from above," was inspired by the creation of big ideas from a team of experts with a fascination for keeping track of information.

from http://www.altavista.com/about/

Now what is meant by "gaze upon the sights"??

The quote from the PuppetMasters is:
Quote:

You might try taking a look at the Ghaepetto registration addresses, for example.

If you join them in order A,B,C,D you get an 'N', not an 'X'

Found this, but I don't know if its any good, (or if I deserve to be trouted!)

Then a guy calling himself "Monkey Stan" signed on and said he had a complete list of the sites associated with the film, all the hidden sites. Some of them aren't active yet, and they have password menus that pop up to keep you out. As I did a domain search on them though, at the suggestion of "Monkey Stan," who turned out to be Stan Tobiason of Critic.com, it turns out that all of these sites are registered to the women of the Ghaepetto family. They're owned by alphabetically ascending members of the Ghaepetto family, too. Anna, Bianca, Carla, Daniella. As if that weren't all odd enough, check out how many ALICE IN WONDERLAND references are used in these domain names. This is a lot of fun. Someone associated with AI deserves major credit for their work.

Cloudmakers Train

Just found this list via Mind Candy ...

http://cloudmakers.org/trail/

Shows all the unsolved puzzles. Or is this just too simple?

Followed the link in Firebird's post.
The Ghaepetto puzzle is listed but did they discover it or were they given it?
Further investigation shows that it was revealed to them at the Puppet Master's IRC on 24th July.

Can't find Ghaepetto in the text but references to Alice in Wonderland were mentioned.

Quote:
01:26:46 <irwando> <OaksBR> QUESTION: Did you have bigger plans for the
Alice in Wonderland references, as the registered domain names
suggest?
01:28:03 <Elanlee> Yes. Sophia was originally going to use all of those
names. The puzzle was going to be in finding them. Once the
names got published (oh, that was a fun lesson.) we figured we'd
just hold onto the names in case we thought of any other use for
them. Never did.

Is the answer that there was no answer or have i gone totally wrong?

Found this email in Yahoo groups, from Elan Lee, one of the PMs in the Beast, he was asked if there was a real puzzle:

Yes, there is in fact a puzzle there, but I fear that it will be a bit of a
let down. The puzzle was put in place simply because we could
and has
little to do with the story.

You are on the right track, as are some people on cloudmakers,
but please
keep in mind (as you pour time into this) that the puzzle was built
under
the assumption that we would use all of our web sites, and that
each piece
would be released over time.

Also, the final pay off was not meant to be critical in any way. I
just
don't want to get your hopes up or distract you from real life when
the
light at the end of the tunnel might not be all that bright.

Sorry, that was a really long answer to a short question. Let me
try that
again. Yes, it is a real puzzle.

Elan

Question is what was the right track? They had looked at the email addresses, and at the 4 women on the map like we did too, think this is what the were looking at at that time:

I am looking at the web sites of these lovely

Aside from trying to crack 11), back on pg 4 there was a list of confirmed answers by Ade1000, and as far as I can see we haven't had a correct answer for 10) yet?

A couple of other comments:

This seems a hell of a hard card for only 45 points - especially if we have to solve this other unsolved puzzle.

and isn't it strange how this never gets mentioned in the Sentinel as still unsolved, those fancy Silvers get all the cred..

Just emailed the makers again, but your right this does seem like an exceptionally difficult puzzle for 45 points. Some of the silver cards were easier to solve than this. Grrr!

No joy this time. But they did confirm that we need to solve the puzzle for question 11.

A few more possibles for Q11

Apologies if this has already been covered, have read through the posts but my eyes are starting to go funny...

Found a site that talks about the Binary Code never being solved:
http://movies.groups.yahoo.com/group/cloudmakers/message/47006

Although it also says that it was never meant to be a puzzle Confused

Then found this:

"1.2 Unsolved Puzzles

Version 8.2 Update:

* The Red King Binary Code (see 3.04)
* The Vulture Email (see 3.17)
* The Plato Puzzle (see 3.20)
* The TV Spots Puzzle (see 3.40)
* The Loki Bug Numbering Puzzle (see 3.49)
* The Loki Pieces Puzzle (see 3.50)
* The Brutus.jpg Puzzle (see 3.57)
* The "Martin Swinton's Baseball Image" Puzzle (see 3.68 )
* The Puppet Master Seal - Barcode Puzzle (see 3.75.03)"

Any help?

Man, I'm running round in circles and can't even find a place which explains what the puzzle is, yet.

Please, would someone do a quick post for me and point to a site with collected info and then I can contribute - this baby has my name on it.

I got most of the stuff I know from reading the messages in the Cloudmakers Yahoos site.

http://movies.groups.yahoo.com/group/cloudmakers/message/5798 gives a list of the sites that were in the game, including the ones not used(according to the post I found from Elan Lee they were ALL relevant).

http://movies.groups.yahoo.com/group/cloudmakers/message/43341, the cloudmakers were asking Sean Stewart if they were on the right track with their thinking, which I think I posted the reply earlier.

http://movies.groups.yahoo.com/group/cloudmakers/message/42467 There is a list of connections the Cloudmakers found while they were looking for the answer.

Does this help? I`m getting bogged down by the Ghaepetto Sisters.

Incidently, the sisters had different email addys, through the four main search engines,

Anna: agheapettoSPLAThotmail.com
Bianca: bghaepettoSPLATnetscape.com
Carla: cghaepettoSPLATaltavista.com
Daniella:dghaepetto@lycos.com

and all the sites had the same host server which was earthdig-t-2000.com

There seemed to be some relevance to the server name, Doug Zartmans phone number spells out those digits, and something to do with the end of the film AI? Have not seen it so not sure about that bit, but the cloudmakers seemed pretty sure it was something to do with the robots digging up the world the film was set in, like an archaeological dig, 2000 years after the ice age.

Click on cloudmakers at the top of this page and you'll be as puzzled as me. I found this ages ago, and got excited by cuckoo, (vulture, above) etc. Visionary and Watchtower security no clearer. The people who understand this better seem sure about ghaepetto. Beautiful land/Founder seemed the most obvious answer but they've said we're wide of the mark.
