Sorry, having troubles logging in.
A whole lot has happened, and we seem to be absolutely swimming in websites right now. I'm going to swing by the 'Coop today though and see if I got any faxes... though I can imagine even if they did get one last night they might not have saved it.
I talked with Orkid today online. We chatted for a good while; here's the important stuff:
Quote:

orkidquantum: so any sightings of this Islington guy?
orkidquantum: I wish I could have got a better look at him
orkidquantum: I dunno if I'd reckognize him again
orkidquantum: tho he was very tall
orkidquantum: dark
orkidquantum: not very hansome though (too old for me!)
DuckieDarko: If I saw him today....
DuckieDarko: I probably didn't know it. Its been raining like crazy, so everyone is really bundled up.
orkidquantum: Yeah
orkidquantum: Raining here too

Then:
Quote:
orkidquantum: hey, did you see this link?
orkidquantum: wait I'm jsut gettin it
orkidquantum: www.triskabiblios.com/scribes/dixon
orkidquantum: ooh I've got to go - door!
orkidquantum: nice talking to you
orkidquantum: I'll be back!

DuckieDarko: I'll look at it
orkidquantum: (ooh I sound like arnie!)
DuckieDarko: It was very nice talking to you Orkid
orkidquantum: and you
orkidquantum: dont get too freaked
orkidquantum: byeee

DuckieDarko: bye

Seems like a nice girl. But right now my head is spinning with all the different websites and emails. Oh well, off to the 'Coop.

Oh, and Artemis: I very much doubt that something has been hidden in our chapel, and even if I did go, there's very, very, very many instances of 13 there. I will try the 'Coop though.
Rogi: how did you know to search for Toby?

Oh, and an update. I called Document services, and they said that they have NOT recieved a fax today or yesterday. I didn't ask them if they had, say, recieved it next week. Wink
I need to check my mail this afternoon (usually arrives around 1... or 1300 hours, if you want to be dramatic) so I'll ask again in person.

Oh. And I would assume that "mission accomplished" is a reference to the posting Graham happened to make... which had to do with Bush and complete failure.

Just took a shot at it as the "T" seemed like a prompt and part of the puzzle was figuring out who sang the line.

I think as people are added, the flash will continue to add parts of all of them. The ghostly flashing duck was in mine as well, but till I saw "your" flash, I couldn't figure it out.

I'm stuck on the font used in the treasure hunt. Can't find it on Omniglot or any of the normal places and I really suck at character interpretation.
Maybe it's just totally made up and I'll need to keep working on the code angle, only.

Wow, there's a LOT of activity going on over at lazy laces now... and I think Islington has now found thirteen scribes. It also looks like we have 13 puzzles to work with.... all at once. I think this fits every detail of an ARG (Graham even linked over to argn) but I won't argue the point...

I asked Islington about his first name, and why I hadn't recieved a map via fax.
Quote:
I'm glad you caught me in.
The key won't come up for a few weeks yet but be patient and keep looking.
The map might help - I'm sending it back to 2005 for you to read.
And my first name is Triscal. My mother was French.

Yours Sincerely,
Triscal Islington

Duckie...
Did you see that source code on the Dixon page.
It translates to a link:

I should have posted this before but I had no chance. Email from Islington saying:

Quote:
Hi Sean – I realize a lot of what I say might seem a little strange and off kilter, but trust me, you need to know it. It's been a long road, and you've been a great help, but of course you don't know that yet. You're old Scribepage (http://www.triskabiblios.com/scribes/onionring) is still up. Keep looking out for that book, it'll turn up. I'm finding a lot of red herrings but coIncidence shines through.

Many thanks, Sean.

Checking the properties of the image that wouldn't show up on
http://www.triskabiblios.com/scribes/dixon

revealed rowan.jpg
so I guessed that rowan was one of the other scribes, and just typed

http://www.triskabiblios.com/scribes/rowan

to see if I was correct, and we have a page with the missing jpegs.

I guess I should be asking you guys if anyone can attend this event since whichever of you goes in the future seems to know me. Laughing

From my email...

Quote:
Varin,
I realise you can't attend, but you know someone who can (since I met them there, and they told me about you).

This is the place. Anyone near there?

Yeah, that's me.

www.triskabiblios.com/scribes/withe

Rogi, I'm assuming you're the one who emailed me? You'll find a reply shortly.

I emailed Islington about an hour and a half ago. I guess he's reaching out.
Here was my email:

Quote:
Islington,

I can empathize with your plight, and I'd like to help in any way I can. The number 13 has a special significance to me, considering I was born on Friday, February 13th, so helping you seemed right up my alley. =) I'm an artist, an avid reader, and amateur scholar, I absorb everything I can get my hands on that intrigues me. Albeit, I can only use 9 of my 10 digits for a temporary time, due to a nasty sewing machine accident last night that has left my left index finger looking more like the wrapped mummy of Seti I than it's usual uncut, unbruised state. Anything you need, let me know, I'd be more than happy to help.
Regards,
Withe Bartbi

Putting my left hand on the screen is an obvious point to me, with my mummy finger and all. Laughing

i'm not sure if this holds any significance, but i was looking at http://www.vibration13.com/nights/ and if you look very closely in the corner of the journal, it says something like "Ea 9pm" any thoughts?

My page has a flash with a picture of an old Singer sewing machine, Laughing
ending with a page of what looks like the xandto zip, and the picture of Ducky's college chapel, with "give him a ring" at the bottom. I am assuming this is directed for me to get in contact with Ducky.

I'll get to the xandto zip similar transcription from my page in a few.
