this new homepage is a good sign.

i know that this page was in the directory but now that it is up front i think there are a few things that are intresting.

first off the line
Quote:
Please note: For Terms and Conditions, please go to 2013

i tried http://www.triskabiblios.com/2013 nothing, i also tried setting my year to 2013 but nope.

also below that it says (c)infinity - no clue

well i guess we can say for almost certian that this is not dead

EDIT: do any of the books that we know have at least 2013 pages in them?

Wow...so it appears now I am implicated in all of this. I am not sure why Graeme was forwarded the email response that Toby sent me. If this is indeed a game (I am still not sure if i'm convinced that it is), maybe there is something of a clue in the response i got. At this point I have no idea what that might be though.

EDIT: If you want to see the email response I recieved it was already posted here: http://forums.unfiction.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=12293&postdays=0&postorder=asc&start=195

Awating my account confirmation still, but thought I should say something on MG's post about the Biblio

On the page source of themostdifficultpuzzleintheworld there is also this text "fix me" followed by the url:

http://ny.cf.er.usgs.gov/biblio/search_keyword.cfm?keyword=NITROGEN

The site has a heading of 58 biblios

About 1/2 way down the list I noticed an entry with the report field that starts as
Quote:
in Puckett, L. J. and Triska, F. J., eds., 1996...

the full record after you hit Details comes up as:
Quote:

Lawrence, G.B. and David, M.B.
Date
1996
Title
Effects of atmospheric nitrogen deposition on the availability of nitrogen, organic carbon, and calcium in forest soils of the Northeast

USGS

I have no idea what use that information is, but its really the only link I can make to Triskabiblios
I'm under the opinion that the whole thing has gone pear shaped, but I will follow along and hopefuly get a reply to the emails I sent >_<[/i]

It was found quite a while ago actually. The transcript was one of the things removed when the website was getting cleaned out. You can read it here.

Sorry for my unregisteredness - I've just registered as wiper but have yet to receive the email confirmation, and wanted to post now - anyway I posted this in lazylaces and feel I should post both there and here:

Hi there, never visited this site before but today met the real-life Toby, who I met by random chance today in Swansea, South Wales.

Apparently he's starting at the Swansea Institute this year, and he asked me to visit his site (triskabiblios, though when he was chatting to another bloke [in the Monkey Cafe, where I bought him a cup of tea] he gave him the link to Vibration13). I was intrigued, so searched for triskabiblios, and went here.

He also handed me a record of his mix-tape when he found out I was from Newport, South Wales, which I have yet to listen to (record player's packed up, so I'm going to have to take it around to a friend's house).

In real life he was a very interesting bloke, very lively, and exhausted - he'd apparently been advertising his ARG (he actually refers to triskabiblios as an ARG) by word of mouth across Newport, Swansea, Bristol (and another city... Cardiff? I forget), mostly making his way around on foot and by train.

Anyway, a few things he said *might* have some relevance here. He said he was from India, originally - this came out when I bought tea, and he mentioned he wanted *Indian* tea. I said the Chinese made good tea also, and he explained that he was Indian himself, so preferred Indian tea.

Anyway, the mention of Austin, and whether he was from there or not, led me to search for Austin India - just in case there was a city of Austin in the country. There wasn't, *but* the first link in Google was this: http://www.austinindia.org/

On the face of it, a normal site, but browse around. It links to one odd "shop" - with only phone number details, and strange stuff for sale, and the other site is password protected.

Also, note the links to movies being screened - if you then follow the link to Sulekha you'll find out that there are NO films being shown in Austin at the moment, despite what the site says.

And why in the heck would such a site be the first link on Google for that search?

Curiouser and curiouser!

Anyway, an interesting bloke, and one I'd be interested in meeting again.

[NB - he also asked me to give a package to the guy who runs the Cancer Research UK store in Swansea - apparently it had his keys in it. I did so, and the guy seemed somewhat bemused, as I hadn't read this before I didn't question too much. Might talk to him tomorrow, if I can remember who he was!]

Oh, something else - he mentioned that last friday/saturday (I forget which - he said it was the night of the full moon) at the Monkey Cafe was the first Vibration13 (or did he say Triskabiblios? It's times like these I didn't have an atrocious memory) meeting, and that these meetings were not directed, but rather people would *gravitate* towards them without knowing why.

He also emphasized that the Monkey Cafe was important because it is number 13 on its street.

Note also the calendar on that austiindia site: only one date is marked on it, and that's today.

Oh, and the error on the passworded site seems to be a custom jobby, though I'm not certain.

(Sorry for my unarranged writing - I'm always a little scatterbrained, and when puzzling over things moreso than usual!)

Oops...

Bugger, sorry about the double post. I tried to post, then site said I couldn't (I'd tried to use my apparently-now-registered but not-received-email-for username), so then used the above username, and got the same message. Tried again, same again, so quit and restarted... and found out that despite te messages it had obviously posted both times - apologies!

The "Key"

Just an idea that I posted at Lazylaces, but... perhaps the "key" that Duckie has/will have is the key to a code? The key to decoding something, specifically. And perhaps this is linked with "thecode" picture of the 13 rules. (http://www.vibration13.com/triskabiblios/thecode.jpg) And perhaps this has something to do with the "word" that Graeme wants. (http://www.vibration13.com/triskabiblios/scribes/mcgyver/)

All supposition, of course. Confused [/url]

Can't access my yahoo account yet - due to a badly configured router (I think), I can only access it via proxy, and proxify is refusing to let non-subscribers use it at the mo' - it seems that everything is conspiring to muddle me about today ^_^

From lazylaces again:

[On whether I'd read all the other posts regarding triskabiblios]
Afraid not - my brain just gave up after a while, so I read about half of the first page of this site, then breezed through the rest! As such, I should probably apologise in advance for anything I might have missed/that might have already been said. I plan to read up on it all over a period of time - if I read too much in one go I fear my mind will go to mush. I have the same problem when revising :/

A few new things I've remembered - Toby seemed to be proud of this ARG - saying that it was the biggest ARG launch ever, with over 30,000 people having gotten involved - are those figures correct?

Also, he mentioned vortexes - talking about making money (through the ARG, I believe). Unfortunately it went over my head (as many things do), but he said something along the lines of the money going to the right (?), and something from the left... bah, that's all I can remember - stupid me. Apologies for my completely useless retelling there.

As a bit of a profile on him (don't know if any clues will be held here): he also mentioned the way that money is power, but not in the way that those who have much of it think it is - how it has the power to liven things. Involved a simile with static electricity. Mentioned how he'd given money to a busker a few days ago, and had joined in with him, creating a crowd, then letting loose some CD's from his bag and leaving. Talked about how when people talk to each other they're really talking to themselves, with the bodies being just shells serving to extend one's own thoughts. He angsted slightly over the fact that he smokes. He pirouetted across the cafe, getting the attention of another bloke (was he in on it? Toby gave him the website adress for Vibration13...). Talked about the moon exercising the same thing upon our bodies as it does upon the seas/tides - as we, like the earth, are made mostly of water. Was very much into music - not specific genres, just music in general. He chatted to everyone - and I mean *everyone* - in the cafe. Bar staff etc. I might talk to them about him next time I'm there - he gave a member of staff the triskabiblios site address, same as me. He's obviously been there before, but I don't know how well the staff know him.

That's all I can think of for now, more if and when I remember it!

[On how I ended up talking to Toby]
I'd got off the train from Newport to Swansea (I'd just popped down to Newport for a dental appointment, and was on my way back), and was walking down from the station towards the centre of town, to get home. I'd noticed the man who'd turn out to be Toby in front of me - hard not to notice, as he's a very tall guy - I'd guess around 6'6"? - and then noticed a group of three very loud people in front of him, walking the same way - slowly - and shouting at each other. As he got near to them, he obviously found their constant shouting at each other a little disconcerting and crossed the road to the other side before passing them. I thought this was a sensible action, so did the same. He saw this and took it as an opportunity to talk to me - he asked if I was from Swansea, and guessed [correctly] that I was going to the university - he asked whether I meant the 'normal' university or Swansea institute, and I said (truthfully) that I was entering my second year at Swansea University. We chatted, and he asked if I'd mind going to the Monkey cafe - I'd never been there, but had heard good things, and he was interesting so the chance to talk more sounded good [plus he'd mentioned Triskabiblios, and I knew I'd forget the name, so I figured I'd bring it up in conversation again to see if I could write it down], and I agreed - and that's how everything happened ^_^

has anyone else learned about this via 'word of mouth advertising'?

More [Proxify's still being a bugger]:

Oh, something else - the 'key' for the guy who ran the Cancer Research shop wasn't the only envelope Toby had - he also had one for a lass (called Sophie, if I remember correctly), which he left with one of the staff at the Monkey Cafe.

Described her to the staff as being blonde, with a pierced... lip, I think, and asked them to leave the envelope up at the back of the bar so she'd see it when she came in, as the staff didn't know her.

Wondering if these 'keys' link up to those received (or not) by Ducky?

[On lack of other 'real-life' introductions]
Mmm, perhaps he's been talking to less inquisitive people - or perhaps he's been advertising other things?

The envelopes for people were certainly odd, and as I said the guy at the charity shop seemed bemused to get them - perhaps this viral marketing (as Toby himself described it) has been more obscure until now?

Or perhaps nobody's sat down and listened to him over tea before - I would have probably forgotten to look if it wasn't for that, and as I am fairly inquisitor, internet-savvy and more of a listener than a talker, I guess it would make sense that few people who he had talked to would make the connection.

And perhaps there are other, more disparate elements that other people are talking about, that nobody realises are linked yet?

I *really* wish I'd had my camera with me now - I actually wanted to take a photo of him as he intrigued me, and it'd have been interesting to post and see if anyone recognised him. As it is, description is all I have - tall, fairly short + dark hair, young (early-mid twenties I think). Not a great description I know. Still, maybe I'll see him around, and the staff at the Monkey & the guy at the charity shop may be able to shed more light!
