Welcome Mountain Girl, thanks for sharing. Wink

(Hopefully this particular addiction does not lead to jails, institutions, or death) Shocked

If I had the time (and the know-how) to go through all of the relevant threads and pull together all of the pertinent info into one place....I would. All of the links, books, letters from Islington & Toby, dates, etc. might make more sense if they were all together. However, I have neither the time nor the computer knowledge. Sad

Any computer savvy Triskabibliophobes out there with spare time on their hands? Very Happy

Will check in again before bedtime....I am off to see the Corpse Bride. Yay!

Carry on...

I'm not sure what the standard operating procedure is for an ARG, but based on what puzzle-type games I've played, this one doesn't seem to follow the formula.

I think that, at least for now, the emphasis is not on piecing together hints and clues from different sources so much as just waiting and absorbing what's being presented to us. It seems more like a lecture on religion and morality than a game, to me.

My opinion? It's not a game at all, in the traditional sense; more like an interactive bible, for lack of a better term. But I'm a bit of an ARG newbie, so I don't know. It just seems like we should do less figuring and more learning.

story time aggaaiinn

Ok so this time, I was sitting in the chapel at my school (I am a day student at a really old boarding school) And I'm not reading life of pi this time, I'm looking at the stained glass windows while listening to my one friend play the piano. Anyway I'm reading the window and it says (now im kinda paraphrasing cuz I didnt have a pencil to write it down) "In honor of Mary Dixon, daughter of George Dixon, who graduated this school in 1876 (guessing on date) with distiguished honors. She Passed on in 1882 at the age of 19"

DIXON!

ok maybe a coincidence, but no coincidences right? Razz I dunno it was kinda freaky. Especially since the big ghost story at my school is that Mary Dixon haunts the chapel at night.[/b]

shylilembrace,
this would be AWESOME. there was one at first but it was abandoned very early on.

it would be nice to be able to send new comers to it and just tell them to read that instead of turning them away with a 40 page thread here and what three or four updates at LL.

Another triskaholic (at least while I'm at work), TheJackalope is reporting for duty.

I'm another tag along from LazyLaces, so I'm happy to meet other people with the same addiction.

Edit - And by the way Shylilembrace, being a Video Game Programmer is not all it's cracked up to be. Trust me.

Hey there Jackalope!

Glad to see you here. I think that several of us 'Lazylacers' have gravitated this way during this book chase.

I think that it is about time that we figure out who is fully engaged in this....so that we know what our resources are. The only 2 that I have been in contact with thus far are Shylilembrace and Mountain Girl.

In fact, Shylilembrace.....that might be something to add to your site. Known Active 'Players' and (if they approve) their email addresses.

Islington has made it pretty clear that we need to work together on this.

Just a thought.

Again, glad to see ya Jack!

Wink

Thanks Ingoc Neato. I'm involved as best I can be, at least during the week when I'm at work. The weekend is a different story. I do try to catch up on what I miss on Mondays though.

Admittedly, I'm not much of a good arg'er (I made up a word Razz). But I do bring some technical knowledge to the table. I can read and understand BASIC and other computer languages. I only mention BASIC outright because it has been used in some of the pages of Triskabiblios. Plus, and my wife will back me up on this, my train of thought goes in some odd directions, I believe that will be helpful here.

This is starting to sound like a resume. I think I'll stop now.

Don't get me wrong. It's a great gig if you can get it. It just takes a toll on a person. When you get close to Gold, and you're working 7 days a week, 21 hour days, it get's a little exhausting. It drives lesser people insane, they are the lucky ones. Wink

Hey everyone, just had a long (and enlightening) conversation with Orkid. Here's triska-related excerpts from our convo, with Orkid's blessing: In advance, this is a huge post, so bear with me.

On "News From Nowhere"
Quote:

Withe Bartbi: I found an ebook of news from nowhere
orkidquantum: news from nowhere's lovely
Withe Bartbi: That's cool
Withe Bartbi: so, did news from nowhere have a utopian feel to it?
orkidquantum: oh, totally
orkidquantum: Nowhere IS Utopia
orkidquantum: but somehow it seems reachable
Withe Bartbi: Kick ass. =) I'll love it then.
orkidquantum: yeah
orkidquantum: hehe
orkidquantum: Islington has good taste in books
orkidquantum: Wink
Withe Bartbi: He sure does. =)
Withe Bartbi: i've noticed some of his references have been to utopian-type books
orkidquantum: yes
orkidquantum: well it seems to me, he's like a signpost to Utopia
Withe Bartbi: yes, i would agree
Withe Bartbi: maybe he knows something we don't....yet.
orkidquantum: which can only be a good thing
orkidquantum: hehe
orkidquantum: yes
orkidquantum: I guess, all this trouble that the world is going throug cant go on forever
orkidquantum: it's got to burn it'self out eventually
Withe Bartbi: I sure hope it ends soon.
Withe Bartbi: yeah, i've caught myself saying it from time to time
orkidquantum: it might take a few years
orkidquantum: but I feel... we are close

On Scribes, Unfiction, and Islington
Quote:
orkidquantum: The scribes... we've got an affinity
orkidquantum: I guess it's the combined duty and friendship we're forming
Withe Bartbi: yeah, i've gotten pretty close with mountain girl
Withe Bartbi: she's one cool cat.
Withe Bartbi: we're two like minds
orkidquantum: heheh
orkidquantum: great
Withe Bartbi: I plan on seeing this to the end
Withe Bartbi: I really wanna help Islington
orkidquantum: Yeah me too
orkidquantum: Shame I live in Texas, and the first books in UK though
orkidquantum: not the first. The Zero'th
orkidquantum: hehe
Withe Bartbi: maybe graeme is the one to see the first?
orkidquantum: Maybe
orkidquantum: I wonder how many other people in London are following this..?
Withe Bartbi: hrmm... well, i know there are a few out there
orkidquantum: that's cool

-----Later On-----

orkidquantum: We are the same person looking through the lens of Time at himself... I cant remember who said that
Withe Bartbi: I've heard that as well. well, something to that effect, before.
Withe Bartbi: I can't remember either.
orkidquantum: it's one of those things....
orkidquantum: So you must have been pretty freaked when you got that message on your scribe page...
Withe Bartbi: Actually...
Withe Bartbi: I was pretty flattered.
Withe Bartbi: are we tlaking about the update, or the first page?
orkidquantum: aww, yes, the quote.
orkidquantum: yes
orkidquantum: I meant the sewing machine
Withe Bartbi: the first page, i was a little freaked, but amused
Withe Bartbi: it was a ref to something I relayed to Islington in my initial email to him
orkidquantum: ahhh
orkidquantum: so it wasnt directly from the future....
Withe Bartbi: although, i was a little disappointed that I was the only scribe he neer contacted directly...but Islington IS only one man, can't do it all himself
orkidquantum: yes true
Withe Bartbi: well, it actually happened the night before I emailed him
orkidquantum: maybe he will... he seemed to be contacting from various times... so who knows where it got lost....
Withe Bartbi: I've nicknamed the finger Seti the first. it's healed quite nicely.
Withe Bartbi: I've just figured it out that he'll get to me when he gets to me, when the time is right.
Withe Bartbi: I'd love to know where he's been. what he's seen
orkidquantum: I'm glad it healed well
orkidquantum: yes
orkidquantum: maybe his notebook will hold some clues...
Withe Bartbi: did he happen to mention to you what this prophecy i was supposed to make was?
Withe Bartbi: I hope so.
orkidquantum: a prophecy?
orkidquantum: I dont remember...
orkidquantum: what did he say about it?
Withe Bartbi: it was in an email you sent to Mcgyver.
orkidquantum: ohhh
orkidquantum: remind me...
Withe Bartbi: I'm sure if there's anything to it Is will get to me or whoever.
orkidquantum: sorry I've been ill
orkidquantum: was it a forward?
Withe Bartbi: Yes, i saw on your LJ, i hope you're better now
Withe Bartbi: yes it was
orkidquantum: getting better
orkidquantum: oh... I havent heard anything more about a prophecy
orkidquantum: maybe it's up to you....
orkidquantum: make a few prophecies hehehe
Withe Bartbi: we are the masters of our own destinies.
Withe Bartbi: I'm sure it'll come to me when it's meant to be, IF it's meant to be.
orkidquantum: yeah
orkidquantum: I think you are spot on
Withe Bartbi: well, thank you. =)
orkidquantum: no wonder Islington likes quoting you so much... hehehehhe
Withe Bartbi: =) I'm full of words.
Withe Bartbi: In time you'll find I only speak my own personal truth.
orkidquantum: I think I know that already Withe
Withe Bartbi: =)
Withe Bartbi: I was SO flattered when he quoted me.
orkidquantum: you must have been exactly right
Withe Bartbi: it was like" "he's really listening"
orkidquantum: so he used it as a clue
orkidquantum: yes
orkidquantum: he must be
Withe Bartbi: and evidently he wanted everyone to see that as well
orkidquantum: yes
orkidquantum: My scribe page has been a bit of a dissapointment
orkidquantum: Nothing really ever happened on it
orkidquantum: Sad
Withe Bartbi: I'm sure he'll add to it when the time is right.
Withe Bartbi: maybe our parts haven't come into play yet.
orkidquantum: I think I got made a scribe jsut by virtue of that first meeting in the Library
orkidquantum: yes
orkidquantum: and some of the scribes seem to be almighty quiet
Withe Bartbi: I think i was made a scribe just by amusing him.
orkidquantum: hehe
Withe Bartbi: i think duckie has dropped
orkidquantum: thats a shame
orkidquantum: why is that, do you know?
Withe Bartbi: i think she got a lil freaked out when everything went a little nutty
orkidquantum: yeah
orkidquantum: it was a crazy few days
Withe Bartbi: I kept the faith tho.
orkidquantum: yeah
orkidquantum: thanks. Me too
Withe Bartbi: at first i was thrown off a bit
Withe Bartbi: but i knew everything would fall into place and was there for a reason
Withe Bartbi: *reason
orkidquantum: the index page dissapearing... all those crypted up files
orkidquantum: nasty
Withe Bartbi: almost a glimpse into things to come
orkidquantum: it was like we were seeing the site from different points in it's existence
orkidquantum: yes
orkidquantum: hehehe
Withe Bartbi: but yeah, it was a little freaky.
orkidquantum: true
Withe Bartbi: i saw it and was like "wahht?" and after a day or two i got to thinking
Withe Bartbi: everything happens for a reason.
Withe Bartbi: we'll know when we need to know
orkidquantum: yeah
orkidquantum: try and have a word with duckie if you can
Withe Bartbi: I will try. I know someone who will be able to for sure.
orkidquantum: maybe one of the books is at colgate, islington did say he knew the founders...
Withe Bartbi: you know of Sixsidedsquare
orkidquantum: ok
orkidquantum: yeah
Withe Bartbi: he's in contact with her i think
orkidquantum: I read Unfiction
Withe Bartbi: i almost thought he was gonna be a scribe
orkidquantum: oh good
Withe Bartbi: since Is contacted him
orkidquantum: he is, isnt he?
Withe Bartbi: I didn't know if Islington confirmed it or not
Withe Bartbi: he doesn't have a page yet.
Withe Bartbi: which is why i assumed.
Withe Bartbi: if we're following that, then I assume Varin is as well?
Withe Bartbi: that's cool that you read unfiction. it's a great place to collaborate
orkidquantum: I dont contribute there though... never got round to signing up
orkidquantum: just read the posts that come up on google for triskabiblios
orkidquantum: theres thousands of pages now
orkidquantum: it's Huge!
orkidquantum: 22,000 last time I looked
Withe Bartbi: you should, I know a lot of people would love to see ya there
orkidquantum: in 2 weeks
Withe Bartbi: I KNOW! it's cool
Withe Bartbi: triska might very well change some minds in time
orkidquantum: Ahh, I'm still abit wary of the Arg scene thing
orkidquantum: see, I actually SAW Islington
orkidquantum: which to me, makes it less of a game, more of a reality
Withe Bartbi: yes i know you mentioned it on your blog.
orkidquantum: so I'm staying out of the 'Game' discussion

On Islington:

Quote:
Withe Bartbi: do you remember what he looked like?
orkidquantum: Yeah
orkidquantum: only a glimpse
orkidquantum: but he had long hair
Withe Bartbi: i have my own ideas
orkidquantum: tall
Withe Bartbi: of what he looks like.
orkidquantum: kind of striking looking
orkidquantum: what do you think?
Withe Bartbi: well, i had the long hair too, but a man who has seen way too much for his age.
Withe Bartbi: the true embodiment of a scholar.
orkidquantum: I wonder how old he is?
Withe Bartbi: someone who catches your eye and you just want to "know" them
Withe Bartbi: i dunno.
orkidquantum: cos, I couldnt really age him
orkidquantum: He looked... maybe middle age, maybe late twenties
orkidquantum: hard to say
orkidquantum: no grey though
Withe Bartbi: well, i didn't think any older than thirties
orkidquantum: no
Withe Bartbi: and I'm sure he's seen more than his years

On Toby/on Toby's funding of the Triska search

Quote:
orkidquantum: So what's you're take on Toby
orkidquantum: the vibration13 guy?
orkidquantum: what's his involvement?
Withe Bartbi: well, I haven't talked to him. he seems like a pretty straightforward guy.
orkidquantum: Yeah
Withe Bartbi: I'd say he's pretty bogged down with Islington's email load though
orkidquantum: But, did Islington recruit him? Like he did Graeme and me (and you)?
orkidquantum: Yeah
orkidquantum: he must be getting thousands
orkidquantum: poor guy
orkidquantum: hehe
Withe Bartbi: I dunno, I think Islington has a use for him, and it's quite possible he was recruited.
Withe Bartbi: trust me, I feel for him.
orkidquantum: yeah
orkidquantum: it must have been pretty confusing for the guy
Withe Bartbi: what do you think?
orkidquantum: the week that this all happened
orkidquantum: I dont know
Withe Bartbi: I would say he was quite taken aback.
orkidquantum: I think he was recruited
orkidquantum: probably because of his game designs, like his work with perplexcity... and his 13 thing...
Withe Bartbi: I think his designs are pretty awesome.
orkidquantum: Islington must have seen him as an ally
orkidquantum: hehe yeah
orkidquantum: theres some nice stuff there
orkidquantum: on vibration13.com
Withe Bartbi: yes, i'm sure that Islington has a reason for him.
orkidquantum: No products on his site I notice
Withe Bartbi: being a fellow artist, i know that toby is a part of his work.
orkidquantum: yes
Withe Bartbi: yes, i saw that he wasn't selling anything
orkidquantum: apart from that page to cafepress. which doesnt really count
orkidquantum: I wont be getting anything from there.
orkidquantum: hehehee
Withe Bartbi: he'd sure profit from the visitors though, with all the attention, if he did
Withe Bartbi: lol
orkidquantum: it's hard to know what to do If I were him
Withe Bartbi: maybe the attention will get him noticed by others in the art world
Withe Bartbi: it would be an excellent possibility.
orkidquantum: like, it isnt exactly fair to use us as ginea pigs to sell things to
Withe Bartbi: yes. i understand. and to a point, i agree
orkidquantum: but then, he must need to fund triskabiblios search
Withe Bartbi: but there's always a "but". look at warhol, he was a marketing genius.
orkidquantum: hehe yes
Withe Bartbi: yes, i would expect that he does.
orkidquantum: maybe he can come up with some 'ethical marketing' scheme
orkidquantum: that wouldnt offend us people
Withe Bartbi: yes, i understand what you're getting to.
Withe Bartbi: maybe some triska t shirts?
orkidquantum: hmmm
orkidquantum: tacky
Withe Bartbi: or hell, maybe something related to triskabiblios itself
orkidquantum: well
orkidquantum: yeah
orkidquantum: maybe a book
orkidquantum: or a comic about the story so far
Withe Bartbi: yes. a book
orkidquantum: postcards?
Withe Bartbi: the comic would be a good idea.
Withe Bartbi: postcards would as well
orkidquantum: yes
orkidquantum: cos sending them to people would make more people into the search
Withe Bartbi: yes, i agree.
orkidquantum: so, if he made a batch of postcards, what would you do?
Withe Bartbi: me as a scribe, or me as an artist?
Withe Bartbi: i'd buy some postcards. but i couldn't do it over the net.
orkidquantum: why not?
Withe Bartbi: no credit card. =(
orkidquantum: hehehe
orkidquantum: you could send a postal order or a cheque
Withe Bartbi: yeah, i would be willing to do that.
orkidquantum: I doubt islington has a credit card facility
orkidquantum: heheh
orkidquantum: or Toby for that matter...
Withe Bartbi: lol yes, i would say he doesn't.
orkidquantum: there's usually a clause in credit card contracts (if you are a Time Traveller, please refrain from using this card)...hehehe
Withe Bartbi: or he could always ask for triska donations via paypal. yeah i know it's tacky, but it's a viable outlet.
Withe Bartbi: LOL that was funny.
orkidquantum: I'd prefer to get something for my money
orkidquantum: even if we ARE helping Islington
Withe Bartbi: yes. i would too.
orkidquantum: I'd hate this to be a big scam
orkidquantum: even though I trust...
orkidquantum: putting money on that trust wouldnt be for me
Withe Bartbi: yeah. in a way, i would feel jipped if I didn't get at least my money's worth.
orkidquantum: yeah
orkidquantum: and I imagine Toby doesnt know what's happening from one moment to the next with this.. . so taking money off people would be difficult for him to conscience. (if it's real)
orkidquantum: I'd buy stuff though
Withe Bartbi: yes. i'm sure it would.
orkidquantum: cos then theres a legally enforcable contract
Withe Bartbi: and i would say it's a tough decision for him.
orkidquantum: they would have to provide the promised service
orkidquantum: yeah
orkidquantum: maybe he's got it all figured out... I dont know
Withe Bartbi: not to mention people would expect to see it through to the end.
orkidquantum: yeah
Withe Bartbi: it's all about trust.

On the books
Quote:
orkidquantum: 13 books is alot
Withe Bartbi: yes. it is.
orkidquantum: welll, 14 if you count zero? or is it 13 with zero? I dont know
Withe Bartbi: but not compared to the knowledge gained. =)
orkidquantum: I wonder if they're real Books.
Withe Bartbi: i hate to say it, but it is true that some of the things Islington has mentioned have been subjects most people wouldn't have ever considered researching or reading.
orkidquantum: I've already said I thought they were one offs, like the notebook... but I wonder if they are all like, bound paper...
Withe Bartbi: I dunno. Book zero got me thinking.
orkidquantum: You hate to say it?
orkidquantum: hehe
Withe Bartbi: well, that's a regional expression where I'm from
orkidquantum: yeah here too
orkidquantum: sorry I was being pedantic
Withe Bartbi: ah, don't worry about it. i just meant its a shame that they didn't seek them out themselves.
Withe Bartbi: most people DO live in a bubble.
orkidquantum: yes
orkidquantum: Islington is some kind of Bubble Popper
orkidquantum: heheh
Withe Bartbi: and anything outside that bubble, well, you get the idea

On the Pied Piper

Quote:
orkidquantum: The Pied Piper link was interesting
orkidquantum: Where did those children go?
Withe Bartbi: i wonder if he looks at himself as the piper, or was it a clue for us to think about?
Withe Bartbi: i prefer to think to a better place, but you never know.
orkidquantum: Into a Mountain
Withe Bartbi: if you look at it symbolically,
Withe Bartbi: the piper was in a way, a Christ figure. redeeming/leading the children away from the evil parents, aka Sin.
Withe Bartbi: but you can look at it from any religion's point of view, as well
orkidquantum: yeah
Withe Bartbi: and can apply that to just about any quest.
orkidquantum: or, no religion at all
Withe Bartbi: whether it be religious or not.
orkidquantum: I think it was Kyle who said that Islington could be a bad guy based on the Pied Piper link
Withe Bartbi: yeah, he did.
Withe Bartbi: it's possible
orkidquantum: but, if the townspeople had honoured their contract, that would never have happened
orkidquantum: I guess the Piper was Justice
Withe Bartbi: but what was the rule, "be cautious, but trust."
Withe Bartbi: yes. i can see that and i agree
orkidquantum: they thought, "what can this guy do? He's only a piper"
orkidquantum: and they abused him
orkidquantum: so he led their children away. Not to harm, they all went happily, willingly
Withe Bartbi: it was kind of like his "I'll show you" action.
orkidquantum: so no damage was done.
orkidquantum: but justice was done
Withe Bartbi: but we never see what happened after that.
orkidquantum: yeah
Withe Bartbi: so we finish the story according to our own personal experience
orkidquantum: Yeah
orkidquantum: Cautiously
orkidquantum: hhehehe
Withe Bartbi: which really, is all that interpretation is. we gather what we know and believe ourselves, and judge from that.
orkidquantum: yeah

On Objectivity/Opening up
Quote:
orkidquantum: is objectivity possible for a human mind?
Withe Bartbi: it's possible. if one is really willing to open up to it.
orkidquantum: yes
Withe Bartbi: it's a distancing that few are brave enough to try.
orkidquantum: so it is more than Just interpreting our own experience
Withe Bartbi: but are we really dependent on our minds for existence?
Withe Bartbi: some think so.
Withe Bartbi: so in order to be objective, we must become one with things we cannot control.
orkidquantum: yes
Withe Bartbi: i try to live my life that way.
orkidquantum: you are wise, withe, wise!
orkidquantum: hehehe
Withe Bartbi: =) thanks.
Withe Bartbi: like, for instance. I cannot control a storm, but i can control my position in it.
Withe Bartbi: i don't change, the storm doesn't change, but for a moment, we're one.
orkidquantum: yes
orkidquantum: we are our surroundings
Withe Bartbi: a joining down to molecules
orkidquantum: hmmm
orkidquantum: yep
Withe Bartbi: i'm no different than the storm, i am the storm
Withe Bartbi: lol that may have not made sense.
Withe Bartbi: but it does to me
Withe Bartbi: just because something doesn't have what some like to think as "free thought" doesn't make it inferior, is really what i'm tryin to say
Withe Bartbi: ....okay, i've lost you.
Withe Bartbi: lol
orkidquantum: no, I dont think so
Withe Bartbi: sorry about that. i like to expound on things.
orkidquantum: that's grand
orkidquantum: you speak well
Withe Bartbi: sometimes to the point of misunderstanding
orkidquantum: and seem to me to be fairly right
orkidquantum: don't worry
orkidquantum: you've got good heart and a fine head
orkidquantum: keep it up
orkidquantum: I've got to go now
Withe Bartbi: well, thanks.
Withe Bartbi: one thing
orkidquantum: ok
Withe Bartbi: do you mind if i share a few of the things with the UFictioners?
orkidquantum: no probs]
Withe Bartbi: they'll tar and feather me if they find out.
Withe Bartbi: =)
orkidquantum: it's been an interesting discussion
Withe Bartbi: yes it has.
Withe Bartbi: feel free to contact me whenever.
orkidquantum: and since I'm not a member, it makes sense for my voice to be heard there somehow...
orkidquantum: ok
orkidquantum: Wink
Withe Bartbi: watch the moon, be careful, i might just be watching it too.
orkidquantum: thanks withe
orkidquantum: yes
orkidquantum: I will be
orkidquantum: we're one at that moment
orkidquantum: it's just a sliver now
Withe Bartbi: have a good one orkid. get to feeling better.
Withe Bartbi: =)
orkidquantum: yeah
orkidquantum: *sniff*
orkidquantum: hehe
Withe Bartbi: we're all one if you think about it.
orkidquantum: yes indeed we are
Withe Bartbi: nightie night. i'm off as well.
orkidquantum: it's a comforting thought
orkidquantum: night withe
Withe Bartbi: yes. =)

That's pretty much it. I left out/changed only a real life name of a scribe and a mention of my location, and a bit about a book I read that was non-triska related. Orkid gave us some great perspective, and we can now assume Orkid, Six and Varin are pageless scribes. We need to get Duckie back in the fold.

We now have tons to expound on.

I think the only tar and feathering I'm gonna get is from Rowan for this huge ass post. Laughing

Some many interesting things to wonder about. The one that first stuck in my mind (probably because I've been wondering about it for a while) was that Orkid herself mentioned her (lacking?) scribe page. Both her and Toby (at least I think I saw somewhere, possibly on Graeme's site, that he signed himself as scribe) have referred to themselves as scribes, but what happened to their scribe pages? Or maybe I've missed a post somewhere among the many, many, many pages here and on lazy laces Very Happy

I'm going to risk hypocrisy and go out on a limb, here. I've been thinking a lot recently about this "Book Zero" thing, and it's made me wonder - I remember someone (not sure who, off the top of my head) mentioning that the pages of Islington's notebook look a lot like the receipt that Graeme received at the beginning of all this. And what was with that receipt? What looks (to me) like a USB drive.

Maybe that's what we should be looking for?

That's all. A bit of a stretch, I guess, and it's not like actively looking for the notebook will do any good until Islington is ready for it to. But what are ideas if you can't bounce them off other people?

I'm going to shut up for a while, now. I feel like I'm just cluttering things up more than they already are - and god knows we don't need any help in that department.
