[SPEC] Possible starting date for game... September 17th, 2005.
2 reasons for this assumption:
1, it is mentioned in the newsletter regarding the "midnight walk" (that doesn't mean much by itself until you see #2)
2, when you view the page info at orbicon.org, all the images and media items are set to expire on Saturday, September 17, 2005 5:40:38 PM...
...this could be what we have been waiting for...

another note: it is also Constitution Day, since that's when the final draft was signed, and it's the anniversary of battle of antietam, when the most americans ever died on a single day (23,000)...so, it's already a pretty significant day i think.

Expiration date of images just noticed that the expiration date for images on www.orbiconcorp.com is Thursday, September 22nd. Maybe they'r updating the site, or maybe this means nothing.
I still plan to stay tuned tomorrow, but just thought I'd share.

There you have it. Down to the basics. Look at your watch. Surprise, we are not right there yet, are we?
And you are heavily abusing the spoiler tag there...
Edit: Now it's 23rd September. I guess it's not relevant and just 4 or 5 days of expiration from the time on it's in your cache for the first time - or updated the last time.

actually, our day (on the eastern seaboard of Canada) starts just 3.30 after yours in the uk. not exactly "tomorrow"

well, who knows, maybe i'm way off here. it seemed like a reasonable spec at the time. we won't really know for sure until maybe early tomorrow morning. i thought at the very least something would get added or updated at that time, because what happens at the expiration date? does the page simply cease to exist?

The expiration date shows when the browser is going to get the next cache update, which means the server of that page is force-feeding the new content to your browser's cache.
But I guess it has been set to 4 to 5 days on default which in itself at least tells you that you should not expect an update too soon.
I hope I get this right, because a week ago I didn't know anything about the expiration date...

That 'curtain' picture has been there for a while, if that's what you're talking about.
