Good luck!!! We'll have FL taken care of, between us! Very Happy Maybe we can go on road trips once yours arrives to cover more of the state. You can go a bit south, I can go a bit north. Cool Florida will not escape the joy of PPC! Cool

Wow. Even when my chances are 50%, I still lose. Cassandra, maybe we can make an arrangement right now; if the Cube ends up being buried somewhere in Charlottesville, let's split the prize 50/50.

Hey there fellow Virginians! I'm here in the Richmond area anxiously awaiting a package as well. If I get it, we've got VA covered!

Dammit! I'm from Richmond! That's the other place I was hoping to get cards for.

Hey QuadsChick, same deal as with Cassandra, only for Richmond instead of Charlottesville? I'm starting to think that if I make enough deals with enough people, I might actually see some money at the end of this whole thing...

Can someone explain to me how this package thing works?

Obviously you get a nice signed card and whatnot - but how does the package relate to where the cube might be?

I don't think it does. This is the post on Scarlett's blog. It's more of an opportunity for MC to get us to market for them. And for us to be a bit silly.

Quote:
Another cool piece of news from Mind Candy Smile. They want to get more people from Earth involved in the search for the Cube (naturally!) so they have a clever idea - they're going to give away some cards to you guys who read my blog, so that you can put them in interesting locations where they might be found. You know, leave them on tables in cafes, on the train, in your school or library.... I'm sure you can come up with some better ideas than that! So, the people who email me with their addresses and the best ideas for where they're going to put the cards will receive a package, free, to distribute. Mind Candy will only send out a package to one person in each city, though, so you'd better be original! Looking forward to hearing your crazy, creative ideas! Very Happy

expanding on what others have said in this thread: In the package is:

A fFat stack of puzzle cards -- I didnt count mine, but maybe 100 cards total, about 15 duplicates each of 7 cards: 15, 25, 41, 88, 117, 120, 181. Of note, all card backs are the explanative non-map variety. meaning they are a special edition just fFor giving away. This is the thing we signed up fFor: cards to give away to people. Everything else is fFluff. a sort of thak you fFor helping them out.

Also included is a signed & numbered #41. the numbers do not appear to have any particular signifigance, beyond collector's value. no puzzle or pattern or other information appears to be available.

Additionaly, the package includes one fFree pack of standard cards.

And, lastly, a "pleasurecard" fFrom scarlett. If you aren't fFamiliar with the pleasurecards, they are essentially very very pretty, half-size, customizeable business cards. The pleasurecards have nothing to do with perplex city, in itself. The idea being you can have something really sharp and clean and neat and handy to tuck in your pocket or wherever when you go out, can whip one out quickly, it looks sharp, you look sharp, and people want to not fForget you. So MindCandy bought a hundred of them with scarlett's contact info on em. lists her email, her blog -- and her PEP number. Another handy thing about pleasurecards is the PEP system. Every user on pleasurecards has a PEP number, which is printed on your cards. if people fFeel so inclined, they can look up your pep, to fFind out other information about you. Ergo .... you can look up info on scarlett using her PEP, 4U34FB.

By the way -- I noticed in Scarlett's 'interview', she makes mention of her mother, and it sounds as though she is indeed deceased. Which, I suppose, would be as close to answering the spirit of arashi's greater question.

Virginia Beach, Virginia

Virginia is well represented!
I got my package earlier this week, here in Virginia Beach.
I did not notice a signed whipsmart card, but my package was opened when I got it. I have given some cards to friends, and will double check their cards to see if there is a signed one.
Also got 3 sets of stickers and a pleasurecard from Scarlett.
