Who Moved My Cheese?

In Sheriff Boyd Gaines' Q&A on the current PushTimes site, it states that the last book he read was "Who Moved My Cheese?" This seems to be a tongue-in-cheek reference to what each one of us is trying to find out. "Cheese" are the things that we desire, in this case, $1.045 million dollars.

I found a slightly humorous review of the book that gives some insight into the book and, possibly, the mind of Sean & Ben as they lead us through this "maze" to their pile of "cheese":

How about this one:

"I ANNOY PEOPLE WHEN: I tell fish stories - I've got some real whoppers..."

Is this an admission of his incompetent policing of Push?

back to the spec

interestingly enough in regard to my spec, the first book (fishing) deals with life 'back in the day'; sorta like the odd scene of the families in ep3. the second deals with coping with _change_, and coming out ahead...

psyche!

other than the 'telling whoppers' line, what did anyone else get from the psyche profile of Gaines?

Rick Clunn is a pro-environment perfect predator.
James Gandolfini is by all accouts a humble man in the face of extraordinary success based on playing a killer for hire.
Clint Eastwood is an entertainment icon who's career is almost purely based on playing tough, no-nonsense rouges driven to make some part of the world right according to their own perception of right vs. wrong.

Insecurity and a bit of vanity show through with the comments about power when facing an unarmed opponent, and his hair. Power and identity from a weapon shows through again in the favorite movie line. that he considers himself underappreciated for his selfless efforts is manifest in the 'underpaid' category.

shucks, I'm jest a good-'ol boy hick sorta knight in shinin' armor here to save you from your misguided ways. -n- stuff...

and his two books listed have to do with life as it used to be according to some idealized (narrowly focused) Norman Rockwell fantasy and how to manage change for your personal benefit. interesting...
