Seems fishy to me, but I guess I am inclined to agree that there is too much weighing on it being Matt.

I think it's the suspension of disbelief for why he's on the recording end of it.
After all, we're playing poker with dead people.
Actually, it's likely thedealer getting these pieces together for us, anyhow. He's rich, dead, and resourceful. He's got a +5 mini recorder of dooooooooooooooom.

not to mention a magic camera that show POV shots from multiple people, and overlays mood music over top of artistic establishing shots

Ok, i know i posted this before on the trailhead, but here it goes again (in a more relevent thread):
Quote:
On a different note thedealer's profile talks about lucy getting kicked out of convent school, and "Giant economy sized pack of pork rinds" (from pacocisneros) mentions that the clerk at the Deli-Mart "Everybody said he'd been a priest. That he'd slept with some sixteen year old girl or something and they'd thrown him out."
could be a connection there

Clay's own musings indicate that he was actually kicked out for gambling with the church's coffers. Could be both scenarios though, very interesting.

Clay's musings indicate that he had stolen the money and ended up in jail, but it never actually said that was the "reason" he was kicked out, or even if that was what had landed him in jail...just that he mused on it while in jail. Just a minor technicality.

Since this falls under Characters, I wanted to point out that
Victor Simko Aldridge has a TELECAST t-shirt on in the video. He is wearing the same t-shirt in the picture on his bio.
They are apparently a Los Angeles band TELECAST
Could not see where they sell their t-shirts, though.

I did a compulsory search to make sure this wasn't trout, but with a little idle Googling, I did find that the only hits I really got for a "one eyed queen" (AKA Janet, Lucy's mom), were several references to a bust of Queen Nefertari, in Egypt. She is often pictured with Isis, and was beloved wife of Ramses II.
There are apparently several likenesses of her, but this one particular bust of her only has one eye ?
I wondered for a while if somehow the one eye was an oblique reference to the temporal lobe epilepsy that Lucy faked under counseling, but then why call Janet this as her card name?
Curious.

The "young" Lucy told her brother that Janet would not be a "Queen" but the female equivalent of Jacks.
Could it also be a reference to Janet turning a "blind eye" to Lucy's real problem (the gambling addiction) because she wants to keep enabling Lucy by paying for her rent in a better section of town?

BROWN and the gun has anyone esle noticed that JEB Stuart has a mysterious contection to the Brown family.
"James Ewell Brown" Stuart. Strange that his gun is the one that the Browns have. Could this be a deeper conection.
I also found this snipit from an online artical on jeb's prize pistol form the civil war.
Jeb Stuart's pistol
This English-made, cased Tranter revolver was given to Confederate Major General James Ewell Brown "Jeb" Stuart by Heros von Borcke. Von Borcke was a Prussian officer who took leave from his country's services to serve in the American Civil War. He served as Stuart's chief of staff, with the rank of major, until he was seriously wounded at Middleburg, Virginia, in June 1863. That same month, von Borcke gave this revolver to Stuart, in the expectation that Stuart would have attained the rank of lieutenant general. Stuart had hopes of receiving this rank after commanding "Stonewall" Jackson's corps when that officer was mortally wounded during the battle of Chancellorsville. Unfortunately he never obtained that rank, but the inscription on the cover of the cased revolver states: "LT. GEN J.E.B. STUART C.S.A. CULPEPPER, VA JUNE 1863/ FROM HEROS VON BORCKE."
