One minor correction. The gun is Wild west era, not WWII. That's why Lucy called it a black powder weapon. Colt single action is the gun Wild Bill Hickok had.

Yes, today was a little overwhelming - huge updates - but hang in there, we can get through this.

Lucy attended Robert's funeral alongside her many relatives, including Mom and Dad, and one of her three brothers (the other two are alive, they're just busy).

Curiously enough, the Buyer* was also there . And he even has a name now - Maurice Pikar. We don't know whether Lucy got to talk to him or not, but her Mom did, and he told her that he met Lucky in Germany "at a hanging". Not creepy at all. Oh, and - no, we still don't how that meeting at Lucy's apartment ended, sorry.

So, Maurice is still after the Gun, and he's using one of his connections at LAPD - a corrupt cop named Phil Kim to find it.

Little does he know that Clay decided to give the Gun back to Lucy, only he didn't get to, because when he got to her place, she was being shoved into a car by "two uniformed cops". Lucy saw him, but she probably didn't know that he came back to give her the Gun.

In news that are quickly becoming more related, there...

... are two more law enforcement people (McPherson and Rojas) that are strangely connected through a guy

... named Kink. Kink is the guy that shot Robert at the cemetery, but now he's also dead - his "employer" shot him. We don't know why. The law enforcement people were interested in him because of his gang activities.

... is a guy who shot Paco. We will affectionately refer to him as "Cigarette" for now, because: a) we don't know his name and; b) that's what Paco called him. Cigarette seems to like killing people, and he shot...

... Victor. Now, Victor is a director, and he has a beautiful girlfriend, Corazon. Incidentally, Corazon is the girl who chased off Paco when he tried to rob a store where Lucy's friend Clay works.
Now, we don't know why Cigarette decided to kill Victor, but Victor thought it was something to do with pr0n he was, apparently, making.

On Oct. 1, we find out...

... that Lucy spent a night in jail (being questioned for Robert's murder), where she made friends with a hooker, who helped her get bailed.

... that there are juicy updates for Maurice: he is on a hunt for Nazi war criminals. Or, at least, was as late as 1969 when he shot a German prisoner in Paraguay execution-style. Rather than merely a "bodyguard", Simon Bassi (the guy who accompanied him to Lucy's apartment) now seems to be his junior "brother in arms [and in cause]". Both of them are Jewish, and Simon is actually Israeli.

... that Simon went to Clay's apartment to search for the Gun and left empty-handed because Clay hid it in a planter. And though we still don't know why Maurice wants the Gun, we know that it's a matter of some "old debt" (probably to Lucky).

Side stories:

There is a new interesting character - Spider. She works for an LA pimp, Vaquero, though not necessarily as a hooker (maybe as a muscle man? Er, muscle woman. Lesbian, at that.).

Matt (remember, he's the guy that caused the huge cellphone outage) had to flee his house (some guy named fish00k is after him). Now he's doing all sorts of scams for his cousin Tony (Matt took refuge at Tony's place) - credit card, robberies, and hacking those police car video recordings. 'Cause he's so l337.

That guy Cigarette that killed Victor and Paco talked to Clay. Luckily for Clay, Cigarette said nothing about a canoe. Cigarette, much like Maurice, is a man on a mission - he kills "very bad people."

With only about 12 hours left until the next update, here is what happened last Wednesday (Oct. 5):

- Lucy drove William Shiner to a poker game. While there, she saw Lucky's "Maurice is all in" message in card code (in William's hand). I know, spooky.
Later that night, Lucy encountered Spider at some bar. Spider demanded information about the Gun from Lucy at gunpoint; Lucy called her bluff; Spider left with nothing. We don't know why Spider is after the Gun.

- The next day Maurice met with Phil Kim - gave him a gun in exchange for a manila envelope that I'm guessing contains information on Robert's murder. Don McPherson (that US Marshall guy) saw the transaction, and even talked to Kim about it afterwards. Btw, Maurice was an arms dealer, heh.
Then Maurice died. Cigarette shot him in a parking garage (no idea why). Maurice seemed to give a lot of thought to Cigarette looking like a perfect Arian.

- So now, Simon's on his own. When Maurice and Lucky chatted with us during poker (and it appears that only the dead characters can poker with us), Maurice seemed confident that Simon will be ok, and that he (Simon, that is) should find a new direction in his life.

- Cigarette came to Corazon's place to give her the key to Victor's safety deposit box (because Victor asked him to - before he died - and Cigarette is just too nice not to do it). Cigarette didn't tell Corazon that he killed Victor, but she kinda knows that Victor is dead because her feminine instincts are, clearly, very well developed.

- Remember that guy fish00k that was after Matt Viet? Well, Tony Viet (Matt's cousin) went to his place and shot his hand - as a, you know, friendly warning to stay away from Matt. Only we're not sure the guy is actually fish00k. Muahaha.

Let's do a[n extremely short] Q&A session, since we can now answer some questions that we asked before:

Oct. 8:

- Lucy accepted William's offer to stay at his place while her apartment isn't safe. Now William follows her around like a puppy, or, perhaps, like a misguided Dr. Watson. They went to Clay's to get the Gun together (Lucy just kinda figured he must have it, since no one else does), and to Maurice's funeral.

- Simon didn't really have much of an update, but we did learn that he got divorced from his Russian Jewish wife Katarina, despite Maurice' pleading to avoid a "lonely life devoted to the cause."

- Cigarette now has a name - Kerry Tucker. Cigarette was badly abused by his stepfater in his childhood, for which he (Cigarette... I mean, Kerry) shot him. Don McPherson solved that murder case some 5 years after it happened, but didn't arrest Kerry. Now Kerry seems to be guided by McPherson on his ideological killing spree.

Now you have to start paying attention, because this is going to get kind of confusing:

- Remeber Tony Viet? His ESC gang is somewhat of a rival to another gang, Mi Casa. Mi Casa have a cop on their payroll - Harry Nakagawa. Now Harry wants to get Matt arrested; Don McPherson wants to talk to Harry; and another one of Tony's guys, Sam, gets shot by Kerry.

Oh, heh, this doesn't seem so confusing in short form. Woo.

Oct. 12:

Lucy and William broke into Robert's apartment and found a phone number to Liberty Calls - an anti-Semitic organization run by one Lothar Barbel. Lothar writes [a lot of] Zionist conspiracy crap.

It turns out that Don McPherson was not only putting Kerry up to the murders, but was actually behind the whole cemetery ordeal. We don't know why he's looking for the Gun (and, therefore, Lucy), but we know: that he killed Kink and Victor because they knew about it (Vic was sent there to take photos of Kink as a security measure); and that he killed Harry Nakagawa because the latter wouldn't "walk away" and also, possibly, because he knew about Don's connection to Kerry.

Now that Mi Casa's cop cover (Nakagawa) is dead, they announce that they now have a new "sheriff in town", and call him Big Hat.

Some guy we haven't encountered before knows that the new Big Hat is looking for Lucy and the Gun, and, appearing to know where Lucy is, plans to sell this information. The guy's name is Johnny.

Kerry goes to the bank with Corazon to open the safe deposit box. To his surprise, there is no horrid porn - or horrid anything, for that matter - in there. Beginning to question the justness of Vic's murder, he talks to Don, and, still not reassured, makes a trip to Clay's store and confides in him... well, sort of.

If you thought this story was split before, then wait 'til you hear what happened yesterday.

William got sad and lonely and decided to have a party. Unfortunately, Johnny - the guy who planned to sell Lucy out before - scored an invitation to that party, and stole the Gun. Lucy made this tragic discovery when she got home after work.

Kerry decided to have another talk with Corazon. But she, having figured out that he must have killed Victor, met him with a gun in hand. However, after Kerry told her the sad story of his childhood (his stepfather murdered his sister), she sent him away with a promise of jail. Or hell. Oh, AND - she told him she's a guy. A pre-op transsexual. Then Kerry stopped by Clay's place for another confession.

Lucky confirmed that Don McPherson is Mi Casa's new cop now.

And then, after a bunch of lovely people finished running around a cemetery in San Francisco, Lucky transported us (and lastcallpoker.com) back to 1945. Yeah .

There, we finally meet Jerry. He is all in love with a working girl (working a bar at the Metropole in Nuremberg), the sap.

Also, we meet Maurice again, and finally solve the mystery* of the "good hanging" - he hanged a Nazi off a telegraph pole. Well, he watched as the Nazi was hanged by other people.

Now, that particular Nazi, who happened to be an SD officer, was hanged right before he was about to meet with the Metropole bar owner - a slimy character named Otto Griff. The SD officer wanted to sell Otto information about other SD officers who had stolen/captured possessions of war victims (jewelry, bank notes, etc.) in exchange for a photo id.

Meanwhile, another American officer - William Reed - is burning coded messaged from someone named Ursa (code-named, rather) and weeping over the fate of Russian agents who cooperated with Americans against the fascists during the war.
