Solve a Cryptogram, solve a murder

Have you guys seen this:

http://www.schneier.com/blog/archives/2006/01/handwritten_rea.html

It's a real-life murder with a cryptogram from the murderer before he committed suicide.

I imagine there are some puzzle-hounds here who might like solving a real mystery...

For that matter, there's always the Voynich Manuscript, if you've a hankering for real-life puzzles. Smile

Schneier thingie also posted in News & Rumors. One or the other needs lockies.

Also note - as several of the commenters on the blog observed - there are a couple of links to real news articles about the murder and none mention a cryptogram. They mention a short suicide note the police were able to read. There is no evidence this cryptogram has anything to do with it. Could just be a hoax with an exploitative hook.

In the interest in bringing together, rather than dividing, our resources, I'm locking this thread and directing everyone to This Thread, where the same topic is discussed.
