OK, I don't see why I have to defend myself here... but here goes...

Dem, if you'd taken the time to read exactly what a trout ( Trout <- click that link) is, then maybe you'd see that I wasn't being rude, I posted a link to the thread where discussion was already taking place and attempted to keep the clutter in that forum down to a minimum. The way I see it is that we don't need multiple fora discussing the same information.

A simple search on 13 books (or Triskabiblios) would have turned up the thread, at which point the posted thread became redundant.

I apologise if you took it the wrong way (even though the fish was not directed towards you Rolling Eyes ), but that is the way things work here. Yes, vector was a little uncouth, but when posting on a forum there is no reason for "chat-speak" as it were. I, for one, find it much easier to read actual English and, had vector not mentioned it, I probably would have done.

Hi everyone,

This is my first post here, but I've been following closely. I thought it was about time for a contribution.

As I understood, the 7th symbol on the sixsidedsquare scribe page is still unclear.
I found this page while doing a simple google search. Look at the center circle. It looks quite similar except for the "moon" figure in the center. The description claims the symbol collaborates "all other known and unknown religions".

Hope this is of help.
wow ^_^ nice find i spent about an hour with google and couldn't find anything that looks like it to me at least. Thank you and welcome.

oh and btw dem, it seems to me you need to chill out just a bit. take into account the extreme size of the main thread and the fact that sometimes since this a text only medium things get misinterpreted. in the example you posted yes the run spell check was kind of rude but i do admit the first post made my eyes bleed. and the second reply was just fine and actually helpful we did have a main thread going at the time which wasn't nearly as big as it is now and a simple reading session would have answered his questions as far as we knew anyway.

Also dem if you wish to help us and post valuable on topic information feel free.

I wasn't the one that posted that thread, and I was talking about the other comment.

It's sad that you guys won't even look at the fact that you might be a little stand-offish to the new people. You defend yourselves without looking at the evidence. (Another example in that Monster Thread...a new member posted that Orkid had updated her LJ, it was ignored, then a few posts later a scribe announced it. How do you think it made that person feel?)

I'm not the first person to comment on how "closed" this game feels. If you look back, you'll see that others have said it as well. And others have posted once, been ignored, and then never posted again.

It's ok if you guys attack me, but I'll say it again...please be nicer to the nOObs...you were one once, too.

yes i admit some of us have a tendancy to be standoffish and i have noticed many occasions where comments were ignored even those made by scribes but not everyone
does this and usually it's not intentional. also i was never a n00b but i was once a newb. please use your terms correctly.

So what locations do we have as possible starting points?

The statue
London Bridge
The Libary

Any others?

I suggest we compile the list of possibilities, then look at them to see which seem the most likely.

@dem
The instance you are refering to is a bad example on first glance. If Maddogg ever read a forum netiquette - and he should, because he doesn't have any rights to complain as long as he didn't do that at least once in his life - he should know that this is a forum and not a chat where u can just type ne thing u want 2...

You know what is rude?
It's rude of those people to make me suffer through their unintelligible stream of letters. Rolling Eyes

Take ur haxx0r language where it belongs!!111

I'd close a thread like this without any reply. Sorry. A moderator is in no way obliged to respond to a request of this form and style ("I can't read that, dude...sorry!") Be glad that I'm not a mod and will never be one...

Edit:
Just to demonstrate how easy it should be:
Right up there is a box which tells you to read the guidelines. And there you find this, among other stuff:
" CLARITY. If your post is ill-written or hard to understand, we will ask you to change it. "
That took me about 2 seconds. And it's the same on almost every board.

Back on topic:
@Withe Bartbi
The links you posted don't work. Wink
I thought about catching up on this, but the thread is gigantic and just sifting through it I get about 2 per cent of what you are talking about. Laughing

Do you guys think we could maybe stop wasting thread space bickering over this, and get back on topic? If we keep this up, this thread will end up being fifty-four pages long, too.

If you still have issues with one another, take it to private message or AIM. Seriously. I, for one, am tired of reading it.

I'm not looking to ignite further animosity, but just to keep things clean, we need to post in the most appropriate place. I know it's hard to keep it all straight as this monster grows.

If it's about Scribes (I guess that includes their conduct), it goes here.
If it's about the books (Excluding Book Zero), it goes in "Books"
If it's about Book Zero, it goes in "Book Zero"
Finally (at least for the moment), there is a place to discuss all forms of communication, Preferably those from the PM, but I would think between players is okay, too.

Eventually, we'll have a lock on the main thread and we might as well get the others off to a clean start.

I believe new threads can be created by anyone and that should happen if appropriate. If they're not used, they eventually fade down the list. If they are, they stay near the top.

Thanks. And again, not trying to be snooty. just trying to keep what happened in the old thread from happening again.

Okay I boosted the contrast on the readme page, looks kinda Egyptian but Im not quite sure if it is, I think it's upsidedown. The top figures hat looks almost like the hat of upper &lower egypt but the body looks weird...Also, If it is upside down the slave would never be placed above the king...

EDIT: Lookeing at it some more, I'm pretty sure it's ot Egpytian, not authentic anyways (I'm not just being a know-it-all, I'm studying to be an Egyptologist)

EDIT AGAIN: Two think I think we havn't explored fully

1) What the XAND TO ZIP Thing means
2) Why Jackalope is: anacronistic (The representation of someone as existing or something as happening in other than chronological, proper, or historical order.)
3)Sajhit Roehampton OBE ATS, who is he?
4) Why is raeden have nothing?

EDIT AGAIN AGIN: I Know what the picture on six-sided squares page is. I Saw almost the exact poster in my world religions class, It has that image and a short golden rule for each religion:

Hurt not others
in ways that you yourself
would find hurtful.
-Buddhism

What is hateful to you,
do not to your fellow man.
That is the entire law;
all the rest is commentary.
-Judaism

Do unto others
as you would have them
do unto you.
-Christianity

No one of you is a believer
until he desires for his brother
that which he desires
for himself.
-Islam

Blessed is he
who preferreth his brother
before himself.
-Baha'i Faith

I'm googling 'world religion' like mad to find the exact picture!

@Jeff: That image has already been figured out, it is a distorted version of the front cover of "The Life of Pi"

Due to the difficult nature of sifting through the 50+ pages in the original thread, I would like to remind everyone of twe really good breakdowns of the clues we have discovered so far:
Mountain Girl's Triskabiblios Guide
Shylilembrace's Triskabibliography

P.S. This is not intended as an attack on anyone, just trying to be helpful.

Hey man, don't give it up yet! I felt the same a few days ago and then some new pages appeared. I really think we're starting to get some good clues with the maps of London and things will doubtless move forward again soon. Progress is being made by various people, Scribes included, throwing their ideas into the thread so that others can take the next step. For example:

I did some of the work on the 2 maps, but someone else figured out that the verse was from William Blake and the picture was Blake's drawing of Newton, and then I posted some more stuff on links between London, Newton and Blake which may or may not lead elsewhere. I noticed that Newton was pointing the wrong way in the picture, but I didn't know that there is a statue of him in the same pose outside the British Library. And I admit I'm not a Londoner, but hopefully someone with local knowledge can refine my guesses about where exactly Newton is pointing on the Tudor map. Just what is that circular building just north of London Bridge on the west side of the road? I can see it on Google maps, but I'm not a local. I've also thrown various other elements into the mix (is I the London Eye? Is I Isaac Newton's grave? What about Blake's ALL RELIGIONS ARE ONE?) - I hope these are faintly original observations and that one of them will maybe fire someone else's brain up to make another small connection.

And so we move forward, not by leaps and bounds, but in tiny increments...

Cheers

I've got a couple of questions for the Scribes. I'm not a Scribe, I didn't ask to be one, I don't want to be one (just don't have the time to spend), but I'm still curious:

1. Are any of you in direct contact with Islington and receiving messages from him which are behind the curtain? Has he been in mail or phone contact yet?

2. Do you still consider yourself players in the 'game' or have you been selected more as a sort of PM-helpers?

3. Is the game really being played between Islington and the 13 scribes with the rest of us looking on?

4. Will the real Raeden please stand up?

5. What really happened to OnionRing, Dixon and Cenyon? Is a purge of the scribes likely to happen again?

6. What have you let yourselves in for? (This could be running for a WHILE!)

Cheers

Law of Five
