My spec is that it will be in Oak Hill Cemetery, overlooking Rock Creek.

Once we know the name of the cemetery, we can use the oddly morbid http://www.findagrave.com to search for people who died on our birthdays. Should people think that ethical, of course.

heh, I specc'ed the same thing, it's a lovely place - - but I dont think the tourney will be there, since Oak Hill's private and they are *very*, um, retentive about visitors, hours, and what you can bring inside. Unless LCP gets permission, I suppose..

Hoping that it's in DC proper and not out in suburbia..

Oh I'll be there. Even if I can only watch and not run, I'll be there...

We'll be in DC, for this even specifically, I'm not going to stay home.

Check out indepedence air. They're a discount airline baised out of Dulles, and they sometimes have great deals. Also, check out site 59 they have fantastic last minute tickets (one to two weekend in advance) tickets, but they require either a car rental or hotel room, but if you're planning on getting one anyway, you can often get ticket under $200 bucks. Finally, you can check out Southwest, which flies into BWI.

Also remember that there are a bunch of airports serving the metro DC area. Dulles (IAD), Regean (DCA), and Baltimore-Washington International (BWI). Regean is probably the easiest as it's right on the Metro Line, but it shouldn't be hard to find public transport from DCA (just west of DC) or BWI (closer to Baltimore, but the biggest airport serving DC).

Actually, if you're flying into BWI, I'm coming back from a business trip on Friday evening (don't have the exact time on me). I'm planning on getting up with an old college buddy of mine who lives in Alexandria (just south of DC) (haven't asked him yet), but I think I'm sticking around even if he (or his girlfriend) won't let me crash on their couch. If not, maybe we can split a room or grab a beer, or maybe I can give you a ride down to DC... let me know your plans if you can find a good deal.

Ditto goes for anyone else thinking about flying into BWI on Friday.

Edit --

And since no one has posted it yet, the Graveyard Games are at Historic Congressional cemetery.

Thanks for the tips! I've flown Independence before, and they seem like the best option. They actually have direct flights, to boot. I'll definitely keep an eye on Site 59 though, hadn't heard of them. And alas, Southwest doesn't have service here.

Thanks for the offer of a ride and such too, but that's the one part I actually have locked in already Smile ARGers are such great people.

Its a long story, but if work doesn't end up sending me to a conference in CA (I'm not sure if they are yet), I'll be hitting up DC.

I didn't see this posed anywhere:

Washington event information

October 22 - Historic Congressional Cemetery
1801 E Street Southeast, Washington, D.C.

Like San Franciso, this has a tombstone game coupled with the live online event. Similar instructions BUT

The time for the online game is 12:00 NOON PST

The usual update time. So we will be updating and playing the live-online game at the same time. Should be hectic, crazy fun like the old ilb fridays.

I hope we can get the same kind of coordination for this event as we did for the San Francisco - it worked very well. Thanks to everyone for helping with it!

Smile

EDIT: Fixed link. --Phaedra

I think it'd be a hoot if we all wore this shirt.

Why didn't you tell us you had a clothing company TheJinx?

Just bought my ticket!

Went with independence air.

For anyone else making reservations with them, the code NACS05 got me a bit of cash off. I found it via a google search. Didn't list exactly what percentage it would get you, but I saved about $12.

Every bit helps.

Hey guys, just reminding you to get your cell phone numbers to me as soon as possible so that I can coordinate this weekend's phone calls. I will do my absolute best to ensure that everyone that writes me requesting a contact gets one. Again, please get your information to me as soon as possible.

(this was posted by Autumn, she forgot to log me out)

Ok, based on where my body is, I'm going to be sitting out of the game of poker. (I have a bad hip, and running is something I can't/shouldn't do for a long time yet)

I'll be sitting out, and it seems, from what I've read from the SF people, that it's a good idea to be ready, not everyone playing. Our little group coming from InCyr's house is odd anyway.

Does anyone who will be there have a digital, portable FM/AM radio??

Our game time is update time on the site, so our phone contacts may be going a little crazy - I know being on the site, phone, and IRC at the same time was crazy this past Saturday.

We (CoffeJedi, InCyr, Thunderclap8, Silrn, and a friend of ours - at least) will be arriving a little early.

So excited!! Smile
-Autumn

I'm planning on scooping up a digital radio to bring with me, as well as a headset for my cell to make things easier.

I can't wait! This week seems so long now...

P.S. CJ, I've been meaning to say that I love your sig.
