The "keyword correct" text's pagesource reveals this:

"Dates cannot be Trusted ... numbers are ambiguous ... 1970 | 1790 | reflections"

Just saw the new update and am similarly stumped. He's still directing us to the key... which is on the west side of the Paine Monument with the inscription 'These are the times that try men's souls'.

And 1790 now becomes 17:90 pm = 17:00 + 90 mins = 18:30

Except that it's a bit too easy to be a time... 17xx is in 24-hour format, so 'pm' should redundant. So I reckon it's something else. I've been trying to convert '1790pm' from base26 and base36 into base 10, and inputting the result into the keycode box, but no luck so far. There are some more angles I can try, and maybe Rogi will have more ideas.

As far as the japanesekey.jpg is concerned, I wonder if there is some sort of Japanese cultural day coming up in London, as that's all that occurs to me with the phrase. Unless it's a Japanese day of the week. Or the phonetic sound for the Japanese word for 'day'...

We have to find the key to proceed... I wonder if there are any numbers on the Paine monument or any recent grafitti?

Thinking feverishly,

Law of Five

Hey, MG - I can't see the 'keyword correct' message anywhere on the page...

Can you help?

It's on the previous page, Law. In the bottom left hand corner of the Thomas Paine page.

If "Dates cannot be Trusted ... numbers are ambiguous ... 1970 | 1790 | reflections"

Are we looking for a reflection of time?

CRAP...I have to go to class. I'll be back later.

So the character we have is Japanese for Sunday - that's a great find, Shylil! It would have taken me hours to find it!!

Assuming that 1790pm _is_ a time, we have 6:30pm, presumably next Sunday, the evening before the full moon. So is this a meeting time and the statue is the place? (If so, what do we do for the next 6 days?) And what is key word?...

If numbers are not to be trusted, then presumably we are looking for a word to proceed. It's not a key phrase, just a word, so presumably just one.

I decided to be cheeky and try 'correct' in the box, forward and backwards, but no luck. Also tried right, left, paine, key, angel, islington, statue, monument without success.

And could a reflection of time be a clock by water... 17:90 = 18:30, so both hands would be at 6 on the clock, so if our given time was 'reflected' in a pool, both hands would be at 12, indicating 12 noon or 12 midnight...

Just thinking... 17:90pm could be taken as 5:90am = 6:30 am

Maybe.
