When I first brought up the map symbols, I mentioned another artifact on the page which, to me, still looks like Barbie's butt. It's in the uppper left corner and doesn't look like it was a part of the original picture sources.
Any of you eagle-eyes see anything in it?

It's probably nothing but i found this when I searched for '1643-1727 Isaac newton', it's an address!

EDIT: Now that I look at it it looks like nothing impertant...

If you want,I could always go and check it out, seeing as I live in mass. That's like..not even an hours drive from me =) just say the word, and I'll get to it this weekend.

I might have found something, but I can't be sure. I'm at school (the one I attend, not teach at) and I can't seem to get this url to finish loading. The only thing I can tell from here is that it might be a video. Even if I did, the computers here don't have volume, and alas I no earphones.

Can someone else check and see if it is something? I found the url from the missing image on Rowan's scribe page.

http://www.vibration13.com/triskabiblios/sajhit%20sig.jpg

Is it just this crazy computer, or is Rowan's page different?

That image disappeared in the "meltdown" If you're still seeing it on your home machine, it's due to its being cached for your browser.
I still have a print of the indexes from when they were available and there are only a few things left in the root folder.

Sorry I scanned them sideways <.<... I didn't mean to,and I only had a little bit of time.
He who stares into the abyss is stared at bye the abyss. Do you guys think that the misspelling is intentional?
Also also..no response from the Email I sent Islington.

in green : "he stares the Is at the ???"

islington somtimes signs as Is

but it looks and seems like such a false clue from nowhere.

Is it even possible to sharpen it more?

Yes, it is. You can theoretically sharpen it as often as you'd like, but after 3 or 4 times it's getting pointless, because it becomes a black and white mess. Razz
I can see what you are talking about, but if I sharpen what he's got a little more it all looks the same again.
I personally believe it's nothing, but I'm far from being an expert on that. And from what I read this game is crazy enough...

FYI: the full moon will rise in London, England at 4:59pm on Monday October the 17th. It will set at 6:28am the next morning. Who knows what its light will illuminate?...

Cheers

The clue from the superimposed Newton/Tudor map seems to be the starting point (It says 'I am your starting point' on rollover). So maybe we have to start on London Bridge, if it's where his finger is pointing. SO something will be there, maybe on the evening of the full moon. Then when you click on the image of Newton's hands, we get another map of London showing a part of west London with Newton's dates and the clue 'where is i', which suggests either the statue at the Library, the London Eye or Newton's grave in the Abbey (given that the moon is rising at just before 5pm on October the 17th, is the Abbey open after dark?). And maybe the book will be at this second location.

I'm new to the world of ARGs and I'm 7 time zones away from the Heart of Empire, so it's easy for me to speculate on when and where other people should be looking. When Islington hides a book in Calgary, I'll be happy to be lead hunter! But maybe other more seasoned hands can tell me - how much info do you need from online clues before you head off into the real world? Is anyone going to go out book-hunting on the night of the Full Moon, running around London like a lunatic, expecting every person we meet to be Islington, or is that just CRAZY? Or do you need a clear clue that says 'be at this location at this time' before you make a move?

Answers on a postcard, please...

Has anyone seen the new page? It has a London underground symbol on it and what looks like the figure of a person.

More frustration with cheesy graphics.
Looks like we're dragging DaVinci into it, now.
If you do a "negative" on the image, the script and drawing are more distinct, but still pretty awful.
I think it's an entry from the autograph book of William Upcott.
"William Blake one who is very much delighted with being in good Company Born 28 Novr 1757 in London & has died several times since . . ."
http://www.betatesters.com/penn/blakean.htm
And at the bottom... Maybe a finger holding up the flying fugure?

Meet at the tube entrance near the bridge?

Now we're getting somewhere...

It's the London Underground symbol with the Angel of the North superimposed and with Islington's strange infinity signature on it too.

See:

http://www.afn.org/~alplatt/tube.html

and

http://www.gateshead.gov.uk/angel/

Put it together and you get the 'Angel' tube station in Islington, North London, which is to the east of the second map, and to the north of the first, Tudor map. It's another point to add to the map of London. Or is it the final destination?... (It's also a square on the Monopoly board - The Angel Islington)

I'll post some maps of London later with the appropriate points marked...

More, more, more... oh my god!

The image is called "westbound.jpg". Which suggests the westbound platform of the Tube station. We're getting close, I can feel it...

The Angel station is on one of the few east-west parts of the Northern (black) line in the tube so it should have a west-bound platform, I think.

The game is afoot!

And still more:

The script at the bottom has something about William Blake and good company... Have a look at this:

http://recollectionbooks.com/bleed/saints/StBlakeWilliam.htm

It's an entry describing Blake as something of an "anarchist saint" and contains the following entry for 1826:

January, 1826 -- William Blake visits young William Upcott, leaving an entry in his autograph album which begins "William Blake one who is very much delighted with being in good Company Born 28 Novr 1757 in London & has died several times since . . ."

1827 -- English romantic poet William Blake dies at 70 in the small room off the Strand where he has spent the last few years.

Now if I can just find where the image is from... maybe he illustrated his entry in Upcott's autograph album... And he died in a room off the Strand... another point on the map.

...?
Seriously, it's impossible to follow you guys. I wouldn't have dared it in the 50+ thread, but now that things are more organised...I can still not discern from where you pull all of this...which picture? Where is an underground symbol with angel and whatnot?
*explodes*

Probably this is the essence of Triskabiblios? Confusing everybody? Confused

Edit (1 sec later):
Ok, that wasn't so hard, after all.

Law...
I think Toby got his image from here:
http://www.skyscript.co.uk/blake.html
But the one from my previous link is a better rendering.
