[META]- 501 quicklinks

 		[META]- 501 quicklinks
Like many people I am over 100 quicklinks - getting the next few hundred isn't going to be easy. I already have linked so many people my profile is very long and is not useful for finding anyone. I need slightly less than 300 links to do this.

The difference is 15 chips for bonus.

I guess the question is, is it worth it? Are people really trying to get 500 or just content with 101?

To get to 501, unless you are one of the top two players, who get linked to as a matter of course by people ( go Krystyn and jinxie and imbri!!)
will take work.

Maybe I should concentrate on the small favors instead. Wink

Rose it is only the people who have QL you that matters, not who you have quicklinked.

For what it is worth, I have more than 350 people that I have QL, but only 80 have taken the time to Quick link me.

I don't know that it's necessarily worth the chip bonus, but I realized last week that getting quicklinks is definitely a fun part of the game that I hadn't previously considered. I'm not trying to compete leaderboard-wise, but I do know that both krystyn and I both want to at least attempt 501.

I'm pretty sure we can make it, too. Very Happy

 		Folks are pretty cooperative about it, and it does get some conversations going. Also an excuse to explain the game to people who think this is just a poker site. So I'll keep working on it too. Should hit 501 sometime next year.

 		It does seem that the further into the "My LCP ID is..." thread you are, the less links you get. Going through that thread this weekend, I noticed that around page 7/8 the number of QL buddies drops to ~50 (iirc), so people just posting on the thread will not be getting as many as the people got at the start of the thread. (i.e. they're only getting the people who take the time and put the effort in to stay up-to-date with all the new entries)

 		Now I only have 47 Quicklinks mind you, so I'm no expert, but I would say that at least 25 of them came from actually playing poker with people. Not that anyone who has posted on this thread so far needs to be told that. I just thought I'd let anyone who is just starting know. I'm just finally feeling comfortable about playing the actual poker, so I'm just now getting out there in the games. (Okay, so I'm a late bloomer!) Anyway, like I said, just some advice for those just starting on the trail to more and more quicklinks. I would agree that those who have just posted on the "My LCP ID is" thread are at a disadvantage, but I know there are people who still go through and click on those that add themselves to the list. I do.

I agree, and it's unfortunate. I check that thread daily to make sure I'm kept up, though, and I think that everyone that's posted in it should be doing the same.

aliendial is right; I've never had to expressly *ask* people to link me, I just tell them that I'm linking everyone at the table and ask them how they're enjoying the game. More often than not, I'm asked how long I've been playing, how I got the Mark of the Joker, and what the heck the site is all about. It gives a lot of opportunity to bring new people into the genre, as well as promote the community.
