[META] Last Call Poker On The Mac Because a couple of people have asked me in private messages, I am going to repost some information that got lost in the vast multitude of pages on the trailhead thread .
I was able to get on to poker tables with a Mac and could watch some games in progress. The method to do this is not pretty. Additionally, there may be some problems/bugs/differences that I am not aware of. Let me start by saying that I have all of the latest everything: Tiger with updates, Safari with updates, etc.
1. Enable Safari's debug menu .
2. Disable Safari's popup blocking.
3. Open a new window (or tab, if that's your thing)
4. Select the pulldown menu: Debug->User Agent->Windows MSIE 6.0
5. Go to http://www.lastcallpoker.com:8080/PokerClient/lobby.aspx (bookmark this for later)
You cannot simply set the user agent and click on the "Play Poker" link because that opens a new window with new settings (in other words, it does not inherit the debug menu's User Agent setting.)
Your mileage may vary. Because this is an unsanctioned way of accessing the poker tables, there may be some unforeseen consequences that arise later.
Edit: it looks like that only gets you in as a visitor. To actually hit the tables as your logged-in user, scroll down to see my quick-draw copy-and-paste method or Addlepated's more accurate "Use the Force"...err... I mean "View the Source" method.
Edit - Changes topic - Ehsan

login on Mac I followed your instructions and was able to access the Lobby. However, I am only a guest, even if I have logged in in another window with the same MSIE setting. Has anyone been able to sit at a table as their own user on a Mac?
Thanks!

Nope. I had the same problem as you. Luckily I have a "backup" PC (even though the poker client makes it crash every hour or so)

That's your cue to go get more beer, Varin.

Virtual PC I am trying using Windows IE under Virtual PC. It seems to try to bring up the page, but it says that pop-up blocker is preventing the page from coming up. I am prevented from accessing the line that would allow me to disable the blocker because the whole page disappears when I click "ok" in the warning dialog. I am trying to find Windows mavens to help me with this, but any advice here would be appreciated.

Yes, but it is not a single easy copy-and-paste URL. You will have to use your session's URL and you will have to catch it really fast (which is how I found the above lobby URL.)
When you click on the "Play Poker" link, it opens a popup window. That window has a url ending with something like "lobby.aspx?params=873eeablahblahblah." Really quickly thereafter, it redirects to error.aspx (which only barely catches cross-site scripting hacks ). You have to catch that URL fast before the redirect. I do it with hotkeys: Cmd-L highlights the URL text and Cmd-C copies it--you can hit L and C without releasing the Command key. You can then open a new window, set the User Agent using the debug menu, then paste in that URL.

Bless you, BE!
Instead of having to be so quick on the cmd+L cmd+C, you can look in the source code for the LCP home page. In there should be the following string:
Quote:
<SCRIPT language="javascript"><!--
var pageParams='?params=really long string of numbers and letters
For Safari, open a new window, set the user agent like Brian described earlier, and turn off popup blocking. Then go to the following URL:
http://www.lastcallpoker.com:8080/PokerClient/lobby.aspx?params= really long string of numbers and letters

This is great! In fact, it is even easier, you don't have to get the string of numbers. If you try one abortive attempt, Safari records it in a site cache. If you then just paste in "http://www.lastcallpoker.com:8080/PokerClient/lobby.aspx?params=" then Safari fills in the rest for you!
But if this fails, view source also works great!
So far it seems to work fine! Even in Safari 1.0.3.

Spoke too soon! Never having been here I thought I was "through". The lobby displays fine, but I can't seem to get to a table. I'll try a newer browser and newer VPC when I get home this evening!

Just a bit of weirdness - the home page is displayed incorrectly in Safari.

Last Call Poker wrapping weirdly.

I've privately messaged a bunch of peeps, but I did want to let Mac users know that the proprietors of Last Call Poker are delivering Mac support very very soon.
So, hang tight. Workarounds shouldn't be needed at all, soon. Woo woo!

Workaround works! Finally got to try it under OSX 10.3.9 using most updated Safari for that OS - it worked flawlessly!
The PM's actually don't need to do much work, it's already compatible. If they can just change it so it will let our browsers through (perhaps with a warning) we will be all set!
