A Call From the Past - Comic Com card #P01

for those interested.

text reads:

"Four years and not a word."

"Now he expects me to drop everything."

"It didn't used to be like this."

"But he's still my brother."

"I'll find who did this. I swear."

"But where to start...?"

[there is an amendment on the solve page stating it should read "But with whom should I start?"]

I have scanned front and back together

The books on the shelf have titles such as "puzzles and Mystery" Paul McCormick

they are quite hard to read though and a hi res scan doesnt help

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
the blood stain reads "DLO NAM"

So even if I were to hit you over the head with half a brick and stole this, the code wouldn't now work?

Maybe there should be a new forumy bit for special edition cards.

MC supplied it as part of the 13th Labour goodies bag... so it doesn't actually belong to Guin yet, presumably much to his annoyance Razz

Ooo. A thought.

Guin has 'first-solved' this and it isnt actually his card, therefore my cranky cogs deduce the solve page is a "www.perplexcity.com/keyword/???" thingy. Now all we need to find is the keyword and we can all have a go at solving it.

Guin, you fine intelligent person you... any chance of a PM?

Very Happy

EDIT - Also noticed, if you hover over the card in the small section "recently solved cards" it shows up as a Wave 9 card!!!

Er. The title of the thread is "A Call From the Past - Comic Com card #P01". So. I'm going to go out on a limb here, and suggest that it's one he has picked up from Mind Candy (as part of the 13th Labour Swag), that is also available at the San Diego Comic-Con.

I'm quite prepared to be wrong of course.

Guin got two Call from the Past cards, one for the prize and one (he said) for himself. So I guess he solved one and will give away the other Smile

Onto a more searching question, I cant decide if the border looks metallic silver or a grey printed colour... any confirmation that can be given?

It's not a "traditional" card, it doesn't have a "set", it's not within the 256 from Season 1 - it is a "Special Edition" card, but worth shiny Leaderboard points, 13 if my eyesight hasn't totally failed me.

Yeah I know that... lol

According to the PXC website, it is a card in the 'none' set worth 10 points. It is card #258, although on the card it is #P01.

The text reads "Promo Season 1", and does not specify a wave. However there is one place on the PXC website that calls it a "wave 9" card.

It has a silver/grey border, you can see that from the scan, although I can't yet tell if that is metallic or not.

It says 13 points but the website says 10. Shocked

just to clarify,

I got 2 comic com cards in the 13th goody bag, one of which was sent specifically for me (very honoured). All the other goodies are boxed safetly away and are ready to be dispensed to teh winner (apart from 3 or 4 posters MC have sent seperately)

its a big box and it will be cheaper to drive it if it is a UK winner lol (although the prospect of flying around the world with it is equally appealing!)

I was suprised it hadnt been done already

Juxta is absoluelty correct about the comic com connection. I was suprised to find no one else had solved it as I figured it was now 2 days old and i might as well key in that number.

I would be interested to see any of the others (if there are any and if anyone has aquired any).

needless to say all items for the 13th pool are strictly that - for the 13th pool.

If you look at the comic-con thread the cards got held up at customs which is why noone has a card :S

the border is Grey and has snow flakes

I need a magnify glass to read the books on the shelf - when i have / find one I will update this thread. It also says Promo Season 1 where we usually have the wave details
