Eh. I played and beat the game this week. If I had any doubt at all that this was about SotC, that erased it pretty quickly.

Quote:
On a side note:

Isn't the 'SOC' game cocept kind of messed up? I mean seriously, these creatures have been roaming the land for EONS in peace, and this one guy... who wants his girlfriend/wife/mistress to come back to life basically goes on a murder-rampage brutally slaughtering these things. Even the booklet that comes with the game tells you that they're peaceful. So I feel kinda bad after taking one down.

(12 down, 4 to go.)

As Zeldafan9626 said, everything will fall into place soon (in fact, due to the time difference between your post and mine, I figure that it probably has already). If you felt sorry about killing the colossi, you wouldn't by the end of the game. I do find it interesting that the colossi in these videos did seem to be lying in the positions that they were left in (for the most part) after you had defeated them in the game. Up until this India giant, that is. The only colossi that remains standing (that I can recall) is the very last one.

I hope that they do something more interesting than occasionally pop up videos at us though.

Looks like we're back on.

Starting since Dec 5th, it looks like our Giantology.typepad.com guy is back in the batting cage gearing up for his big 'trip'. He's posted every day, and now we've got something going on with Boris. Is the Turkey settled? Let's get back to slaying this Colossi mystery...

(P.S. I DID in fact, beat the game a few weeks ago. *sigh* And what a cool ending it was. HOPEFULLY we'll see the successor of this game on the PS3, where the Giants can REALLY shine. Oh, and I still need to beat the game in Hard Mode, and Hard Time Attack Mode for all the neato goodies.)

UDATE:

OH, and the 'stop-polarneft' site, has this 'invisible' link on the bottom on his page that looks like 'morse code', and when clicked on, brings you to a password prompt...

Here's the morse code looking jive...

...- .. . .-- ... --- ..- .-. -.-. . -.-. --- -.. .

and here's where it takes you...

http://www.stop-polarneft.com/arkady/index.html

OH, and on further inspection of the HTML Source Code...

(hahah, which after you 'decode' the morse, it spells out..
VIEWSOURCECODE)

There's Arkady's PHONE NUMBER???

ARKADY: TELEPHONE 44 7962 837 318

Odd.

Clicking that hidden link opens up a new browser window. The title of that new window is "sony/playstation/SOTC_DEV/stoppolarneft/arkady1". Even though we already knew this was all about the game, they could have at least hidden that from public view to keep the illusion alive a little longer. Oops! Smile

Anyone call that number yet? What country is that located in?

According to what I found, it's a number for somewhere in the United Kingdom. WHERE exactly? I have no clue. And i'm not dialing no stinkin' UK number either. Despite my piqued curiosity.

And so the plot thickens.....

I must say, this seems to be getting more and more intresting by the day. If only we had a Russian speaker to callthe number.

I myself do know a few people who can speak some Russian, but I'm not calling a number in the UK. My parents would kill me.

Hmm.....I really wish we had someone who spoke Russian and who could call the number. That's obviously the next step in this puzzle, and unless Giantology brings out something new in the coming days, it's the only thing we have.

We should crack the code as soon as possible. If we can do it before December 26.....

Something is bound to happen at that date, and if we're in the Stop-Polerneft site by then, all the better.

EDIT- I sent Giantology Guy an E-Mail/Posted a comment. I put this.

"I'd like to let you know something. Highlighting the invisible link reveals a strand of Morse Code. When translated to english, it turns up a message. "VIEWSOURCECODE." Apon doing so, we find Andy's phone number. A UK phone number. Calling it comes up with an answering machine. The problem with this message is that it's in Russian. If you or anyone you know speaks Russian, please, get the password.

The number is 44 7962 837 318. If you feel the need, you can confirm this by looking at the page source.

I am sending this message by both E-Mail and Comment, to make sure you get it.

Consider me a represenative of the Unfiction message boards.

Us at the Unfiction fourms are very intrested in your site and the sites that you have linked to, and would like to help everyone involved with this in anyway possible.

http://forums.unfiction.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=12714&postdays=0&postorder=asc&start=0

Thank you for your time.

~Therum"

In the E-Mail, I also included this.

"EDIT- I forgot to put this in the comment, but one of our members belives he heard the words "Password Polar Einstien" in the answering machine's message. We have tried this without sucess, unfortunetly, but still."

So.....maybe we can get some answers this way.

I don't think that would be needed. All the sites pertaining to this "mystery" are in English. Well, yes the Arkady site is in both English and Russian... but I think that was done to help create the illusion that it is real.

I could be wrong though.

I wouldn't be so sure. Even if it could be solved with just English, we might miss important info.

I second that notion. Last year I solved a local geocache that involoved translating four different languages.

Awesome job to Chippy for making the call. Big ups to Therum for giving the Giantology fellow something to put up. It looks like he went ahead and regurgitated our stuff with less information. Heh heh.

Here's my question: Our Giantology Author is the one who probably has the best access to Russian Translation what with his 'grants' and oodles of contacts... are we hoping that he'll put something up, or do we depend on all of us here to get that password?

Okay, I came up with a silly idea...

Since it "sounds like" polar einstein, maybe there's something on the Arkady Site, that mentions a word or something that SOUNDS like 'Polar Einstein'. It's an idea... Or even the podcast might have some thing...

Alrighty,

A for Effort Sony for trying to make this a little more interactive.

I also, will not be calling the UK number and paying money to hear the recording.

It seems pretty obvious that whatever is on that recording will lead to the password for that web site.

And big faux pas on SOE's part with that directory structure. Tsk tsk tsk....

I'm hoping for the Password, but even if we can't get that, he might reveal some info.

That's not a bad idea. I'm going to comb through the site and the podcast, see if I can find anything.

I'm going to mainly check the English side of the site, but I'll probably glance around at the other pages as well.

EDIT: Nothing on the website. I looked as thouroghly as possible, but nothing. I'm downloading the Podcasts now, so I'll kep you all posted.

EDIT 2: Nope, I can't seem to get anything from the podcast, however, I may be wrong. The acents are a bit hard to understand.
