[13books][CONTACT]emails, AIM etc.

Thought we needed a thread for emails and any other contact we get from Islington and the like, speaking of which;
I got this email from Islington:
Islington wrote:
Thank you for your excellent work. By collaborating with Yann and Withe, and
with support from the widening network of conciencious Searchers, you
managed to contact the Producer of The Culture Show and acheived a
phenomenal reaching of the people. Your actions brought the Search to the
Forefront of Global Consciousness. I salute you. The patient and poetic way
you explained the story, and the ingenious and resourceful manner in which
you all made contact with this usually shadowy character, was truly
remarkable. The London Book will soon be found. Be ready.
Yours In Time,
Triskele Islington

So.. Yann, Withe, you know the producer of The Culture Show?
Looks like we have work to do...

(P.S. the 49 pager may need to be locked soon)
(P.P.S. We still got the chat in #13books, its getting decidedly lonely in there, but I've mentioned it to orkid on her blog so she can join too)

So.

I got a phone call. Supposedly from this Islington person. I wrote down immediately what he said,as it was fresh in my mind. "That book, you know it, you're close, but can you cross the bridge, even if you found it?"I say suppsoedly, because honestly,I don't know who it was. It could be a coincidence that he mentioned the book and the bridge (I've always beend eathly afraid of crossing them, but never told anyone.) But there aren't any coincidences, now are there? Anyways, that was four in the morning on Monday. Yes,I'm a night owl.

For those not in the know, The Culture Show is a newish BBC TV arts documentary series, criticised in several places for its flash presentation style. Andrew Graham-Dixon is one of the presenters.

Man. I'd hate to see this be just a lame attempt at self promotion. Especially by dragging "innocents" in to do the legwork.
I guess there is the off-chance that Mr. Dixon is already aware of this whole mess.
Is he what you'd call shadowy?

I'm of the mind that this is the entire point to Triskabiblios. But that's just me.

Dixon was one of the links on the scribe index page when it was accessable and he wrote the book Rennaissance which I believe is one of our possible 13 books?

jilla pie found OrKid's newest Blog entry:

Things look to be hotting up on the trail of Book Zero... Islington has revealed a clue which seems to shine light on where in London it might be found... I don't know London at all well so I'm not going to be much help... I wish I could afford a holiday there though, I want to be in on this discovery! So... who's going? Anybody live in London fancy running around picking up after our scatty Time Travelling friend?? Hehhehehe.
I've been going through my book collection and I've found a few old gems... wonder what I should do with them...
In non-triskabiblios related news - yes, I do have a life outside of this 'game' - my flatmate Orla brought home a kitten, she found it in a box - and it's soooo cute! Except, I'm ferociously allergic to kittens, plus it weed on me. Sigh. It's a love/hate relationship...
Let me know what's going on as we near the date of Book Zero discovery... I'm getting twitchy as the Full Moon approaches...

OrKid...
Your geography is showing.

Haha I noticed that too, and in her other posts there is british lingo also. Although she could come up with an excuse because she posted this after a comment in her LJ:

"Oh and I'm a US native, but I've lived in Europe for 2 years. I kinda like the accents in the UK. Theres loads of different types, I went to birmingham and that was fun. Bit busy though."

I thought it important that this be posted here to be seen/read by those new to the quest.

It is a response to my letter to Islington via Toby....

Dear _____(he used my real name...would kinda ruin my Incog Neato ID to share it further!!),
Thanks for your eloquent reply. I've been given Islington's Inbox to try and deal with, there are thousands of helpful people out there that I am trying to reply to on his behalf.
Your literary tastes are good, and your particular choices, I am
sure, will shine a helpful light on this tricky conundrum. The 'game' will go beyond sharing reading lists, it is Important to Islington's success that which ever books are on his mystic list be read and sent on all over the world. When he explained it to me, he talked about this vortex principle - I will soon upload the logs of our conversation so it is more clear. Basicly, something about the movements of the books, passing through various academic and personal networks, being constantly re-read by co-operative people then sent on, this, he feels, will go some way to facilitating the End Results he so desperately requires.
So if you want to share any books you think would be beneficial in subject or style to the triskabiblios library, please find someone else who is actively playing, befriend them, and send them a copy. For the price of a charity shop book and a stamp you will be helping to decypher one of the most profound riddles of the TwentieFirst Century and help us link up with the Morrisian Future of Nowhere.
Anyway, thanks for being so diligent. I will keep in touch as and when I can. Please explain to the others what I've told you, since I'm quite tired and will go get some sleep.

Toby
triskabiblios scribe

PS Your ID rules. hehehe Incog Neato! *yay*

As you know, I followed through with the request and mailed a copy of Siddhartha to Mountain Girl.

I have yet to hear of any other books being passed on. *nudge...nudge*

This was also the source for Morrisian's News from Nowhere being added to the list of books.

Carry on....

I thought this should go here for posterity, Graeme just posted this over at LL:
Quote:
Re: Vibration13 issue zero

only 13 copies of issue zero (first edition) were pressed. All were sent to representatives of the Global Interactive Network.
Ramine Fardad has two copies, one en Francais et un in English.
Request that he auctions the English copy stop
3rd of profit to go to disaster relief charity
3rd of profit to go to personal projects
3rd of profit to be donated to Triskabiblios Trust Fund (co-op, Angel Islington)
Diolch yn Fawr
Iznibz

This is an email from Iz that he recieved shortly after discussing on his comment board about his intentions to show up for the "meet" this weekend.
More info here http://lazylaces.com/search.asp?s=triskabiblios

Edit: What stands out to me from this message is that Iz is referring to "issue zero" and not "book zero". Issue zero is a comic on the Vibration13 website. Why the sudden name change?

Could be two diffrent things.. though comic books (the big kind) are sometimes called graphic novels.

Here is a copy of an e-mail I sent to Ramine Fardad.

Ramine,

Greetings. I am part of a search for the 13 books. It has been implied, you are the caretaker of two copies of Issue Zero, one in English and one in French. An e-mail sent to a friend from Ixltaan suggests we request you to auction the English copy of this book.

Any knowledge you have on the subject of Issue Zero would be most welcome. How did you come into possession of these copies?

If you have any question please feel free to contact me at rukind88SPLATyahoo.com

Thank You and Blessings Abound!

So would this
Quote:

make Angel, Triscal Islington's middle name.

Triscal Angel Islington?

Edit: Nevermind. Forgot it was Triscal D. Islington. ~ DeAngelo?
