I'm going to check out both my school library, and public library for those books. If I find anything relevant, I'll let you all know.

Akujiki, I think the connection between them all is what we are all supposed to work on when we get a full list of the books. But to me, most have some sort of a utopian connection.
When you're trapped in darkness, call out, and there will be one who will shine a light. Right now, we're all waiting for the lantern. =)

This reminds me of the Heart of Darkness by Joseph Conrad. I just finished reading it, and one of the bits of it was a painting Kurts painted of a woman with a blindfold on, holding a candle. She was blinded from the fact that she had the light in her hands the whole time.

The Prophet
-by Kahlil Gibran
The face from Book Zero is from the cover of The Prophet.
Everyone should read this book. Very short, very simple, very beautiful.

Erm, aren't we supposed to be _finding_ the books that Islington lost? Therefore, PRACTICAL TIME TRAVEL can't be Book One, as Islington sent it to one of us...

Another possibilty for The Everyman's Library to Time Travel: Kurt Vonnegut's Slaughterhouse V - at least Islington and Billy Pilgrim seem to use the same, although not always dependable, method to travel though time - blinking

And Practical Time Travel by Colin Bennett can't be book 1 because the mailing label on Jack's package said "book not 1 of 13."

Remember, I'm Anachronastic, so my book is not #1.
