Sorry for double-post, but here unspoilered:
Just another random thought, that just came up my mind:
Jon says, all ended, where it began. Where aleph met the star may also refer to where Shuck (Aleph anniversary) met the Hornchurchstar (Taurus is the first horoscope) with the entry: You dream of things that you cannot afford. There is only one way to get what you want. Give into the temptation. Close the deal.
Could be either very pessimistic view, or a hint that theres more to the S+S website now., like being able to figure out new passwords or get our assessment fulfilled.
Regarding my idea about Aleph as Aldebaran, I'll try to collect some more info first.

Also, the Aleph is the name of a short story from Borges, the one that might be evoked on the pathway travel site.
http://www.phinnweb.com/links/literature/borges/aleph.html
in the novel, you've got this sentence where aleph and star meet:
"Truth cannot penetrate a closed mind. If all places in the universe are in the Aleph, then all stars, all lamps, all sources of light are in it, too."
still far-fetched though

Here we go
Originally the name Aldebaran was given to the entire cluster of the Hyades, another set of seven sister stars.
Some links to more info about Aldebaran:
http://www.crystalinks.com/aldebaran.html
The Bull/Ox and the aleph are associated to the Tarot Card 0 "The Juggler/The Fool"
http://www.tryskelion.com/fool.htm
and especially historical astrology and magic:
http://www.renaissanceastrology.com/aldebarantalisman.html
about Henry Cornelius Agrippa von Nettesheim, most famous Rennaisance Occultist, who wrote the "De Occulta Philosophia"
Maybe these are some good starting points.

Yep, I noticed this also, and mentioned it in the chat room. I'm not sure whether it is a clue or not.
One one hand, we have been given references to another short story by Borges: The Library of Babel , on the Pathway Travel site. So. it would be fitting.
On the other hand, it doesn't lead us directly to a web page where we can do anything. So, I dunno. I guess I'm kinda' expecting this puzzle to be like the "Where U and I meet" puzzle: when we figured it out, we clicked on an image, and it took us to another website (www.thehidingroom.com).

here's what is says on the S+S website
Quote:
Sable & Shuck celebrated its aleph symbol anniversary on the 30th April. Our
esteemed founder himself reigned over the proceedings that took
place at our offices on the east bank of the Acheron. The current Director of Acquisitions was singled out for praise in particular,
for his 'stellar contribution to Sable & Shuck this year'.
i think this is a good positive lead.

on another note....
what does jon say in his message, i can't make out a couple of words
sounds like 'the more the do' or something?
any ideas?[/b]

So many directions where to look!
The spelling of this thread reminded me that Estelle Starr is a Sable+Shuck client. But now where could we find clues as to what her login might be...

In Greek mythology, the Acheron is one of the rivers that flows in Hades, the abode of the dead.

Aleph and Star leads:
1. The book of star
2. The east bank of the Acheron
3. Estelle Star
4. Hornchurch star

Not sure what's east/west of the Acheron, but the deceased cross it to be able to enter the underworld. it does not tell us whether the S+S offices are on the side of the dead or the living though.
Returning to Pathway Travel and Hades:
The hotel is called Europa:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Europa_%28mythology%29
which in mythology is always associated with a bull.
That takes us back to Taurus!
And there is a connection between the fields of Asphodel (mentioned in the guestbook) and vampires according to the wiki article.

Where Aleph meets Star is similar to Jons phrasing of " where u and I meet", which lead us to clicking his eye.
This could be something similar to that.

do we even know what to do with the answer when we have it?
'contact me through the usual channels'
what does this mean? a new password for the cache?
send an e-mail?
we could have the answer, and not know it!

The stars still teach you many things: A loved one will propose at dawn on the 21st. If you're on time you should accept.
this makes me think it has to be something with star signs/constellations
so on that note:
http://members.fortunecity.com/patrickm/441astro_gates20.htm
this is FAR TOO COINCIDENTAL!!!
- the 441 astrological gates
- each of the 21 star signs has 21 gates
- each of the 21 gates can be drawn as a 7 pointed star
- the star signs are as follows (in no particular order)
1. Capricorn
2. Aries
3. Neptune
4. Venus
5. Taurus
6. Sun
7. Aquarius
8. Gemini
9. Leo
10. Pisces
11. Uranus
12. Scorpio
13. Mercury
14. Saturn
15. Libra
16. Pluto
17. Jupiter
18. Virgo
19. Moon
20. Mars
21. Cancer
- The Ayin-Aleph gate is where Capricorn and Uranus meet
- The gate number is 406, guarded by the angel Ehahtiel
Only problem is, I have no idea what the answer is
