CreativeEmbassyNYC I'm taking a daytrip to NYC on October 29th, and I'm really hoping to chill with some of ya'll during the day. The bus schedule states we're leaving at 7PM (groan), so I'm currently looking for rides back home on Sunday. If I can do that, perhaps a party is in order, rather than a meet-n-greet lunch.
Not that there's anything wrong with lunch.

I'll be playing two shows that day, but if you have any questions about the city feel free to PM.
Or you could just stop by the American Theatre of Actors on 54th to take in a breezy, <2hour performance of Slut: The Musical .

October I'm sure we can work something out, we were just talking about when to have an October get together-card trade-social hour thing. This would be after the forthcoming wave of cards will be released so people who are into PPC can trade and those that aren't can hang out too. (I thinking Sin, Anthrax, bagsbee, joe, and everyone else who can make it! )
We could just plan to meet that Saturday and maybe see joe after the show. One idea I had is to revisit the delicous Korean barbeque place that the well-known New Yorker jamesi found (oh wait, he is Canadian but he found the best places in the city.) It is in mid-town and close to lots of other places to go before or after we eat, even joebrent's theater.
I'm hoping to get Andrea, one of the Mind Candy designers, to join us. I haven't had a chance to email her. I noticed that she recently posted to the New York IGDA (international game developer's association) forum so maybe she is living nearby.

Oye, that sounds like a great idea! Joe, what are prices for your show like? Group rate? Unfiction rate?
Then after that, we meet at the delicious Korean restaurant to eat and trade cards. Maybe we'll coordinate a trip to ToyTokyo beforehand, though I don't know how close each of these is to each other. Sounds like a game plan to me. Thoughts? Is anyone else available to do this?

Tix for my show are a low, low $25. If that still sounds like a lot, try seeing Wicked for less than $100. And they don't have a 1st act song called 'Slutterday Night'.
We do.
I'd get comps for you guys, but after using one on each member of my harem, plus one each to bribe the Commie Mafia Yakuza Nazis trying to blackmail me with pictures of me and Barney the Dinosaur, I've nary a one left for decent folk like you all.

CE NYC After actually getting to hear joebrent play, even briefly, I consider $25 a steal. But, I will try to get discount tickets for a group price, maybe the matinee would be less.
So now ARGFest attendees, you have a month or so to make some plans. I know the video guys are around and all those other great lurker people. I will try to get in touch with Andrea as I said.
Now lets see, who else is local? PixieStix, StercusMaximus, Centipede, strifey....

Aw. I'm awake! My calendar informs me that Oct. 29th is the first day of fall break, after midterms, so that's some wonderful timing. Provided nothing terribly important comes up in the meantime, I'll be there. Whoo!
Incidentally, there's a LCP live event on Oct. 29th with location TBA. The NYC one is on Nov. 5th (which is still, I note joyfully, during fall break...if the game remains awesome, and it turns out that these are actual live events, I'm so going). That's a lot of concentrated live ARGness.
Gah, I'll be a couple of months short of 21 at that point. Dammit. I've been told that I look older now...I can easily pass for 16.

theater hey again. I am stopping by the theater this week to find out about the group rate. The only numbers I can find online take me to ticket master- oh wait I just recalled having this old-fashioned thing called a phone book. To the white pages! I shall be back!

Sorry guys --
I'll be in Miami from Oct 12 - Nov 12. You can still come see Slut, of course, and the guitarist will be Kenny Brescia, who played Rent for 9 years, so he will still be of very high quality. But he knows nothing of the stol. Nobody's perfect.

joe the only reason to see Slut is to see you.
I think we will skip it.
So now we can do something else.

We're being picked up and dropped off in front of the metro. museum of art. From there, I want to be able to get to toy tokyo first, then wherever we go for lunch. We're leaving at 7 in the morning here (Lock Haven, PA), so I think I'll arrive in NYC between 11-12. We need to be back on the bus again at 7 PM. Ugh.

A couple of things:
1. Does the return bus pick you up from the same location in front of the Museum? If so, you may want to visit there last, as the museum is open until 8:45pm on Saturday and gets less crowded as the day wears on.
2. Is there any place other than Toy Tokyo you plan to see? We could meet up for lunch near there - Chippy found a nice place- or have the Korean Barbeque, which was great!
I hope that we can get bagsbee, omni, anthrax, sin vraal and their significant others as well as other PPC players and unfiction people to meet us.
3. I have some unlimited ride one-day pass metrocards left over from ARGFest. If you or your group are interested in buying/using them, PM me here. They are well worth the cost for one day of sightseeing.
4. To get to Toy Tokyo from the Metropolitan Museum - and get to see a bit of the city at the same time - take the M2 bus down Fifth Avenue to 8th Street/Astor Place. The bus stops out front of the Museum and goes down 5th Ave through midtown. The bus is pretty fast. Walk east to 2nd Ave and then south to Toy Tokyo.
Or you can walk south to 77th Street from the Museum, then across Madion and Park to Lexington. Get on the Southbound #6 train. Get off at the Astor Place stop.

Yeah, thanks for the tip. I'll probably be doing that then. We leave here at 6 AM, so I'm likely going to head straight to Toy Tokyo to get the cards for our big trade-off for lunch.

The Korean Barbeque sounds awesome. Apparently my friend here at school wants me to visit her friend for her (don't ask). I guess they own a chinese restaurant somewhere SoHo. I don't think I'm going to do that unless she comes though.
Also, I'm travelling with one non-ARG female, and potentially another ARG player (just started on LCP). So they'll want to go shopping. Meh. Suggestions?

Oye! We're VRRRRY interested! I'll ask around here, see if other people want them. How many do you have left, and how much do they cost?
