Actually, Janet has it probably because it is her husbands' grandmother. Maybe it was in a box of stuff that Lucky gave to Lucy (via his will) and Janet has it because she is looking through some of Lucy's things???? Or it was the best place for the PMs to put it????

simon and lucy

They met the first time when Simon and Maurice break into Lucy's house to find out about the gun. Lucy tells them about Clay- who has the Gun at the time. They meet again at Maurice's funeral.

Unwelcome Visitors
Lucy doesn't tell them about Clay, though. She doesn't suspect him having the gun, yet.

Lucy tells them that Clay was the second shooter -something she didn't tell the police. That is why Simon goes to Clay's apartment and tears it apart searching for the Gun.

Err, yeah, what konamouse said. You're right, Janet is not a Brown by birth, and I meant grandmother-in-law. Embarassed I'd say that we know that Rick is a Brown because he is the father of Lucy Brown and Devon Brown.

So I guess Seamus' wife is also named Mary.

Dang, I forgot about that. Hmm. Well, we know Seamus isn't writing to his own wife in "Baby Boy!" because he wishes happiness to "you both," strongly implying that he himself isn't the father of Mary's new son. And we can also tell that the father is a Brown, and that their older son is named Lionel.

I suppose it is theoretically possible that Seamus has yet another sister -- not Mary -- who married someone else named Brown, and who also named her son Lionel, and who is Lucky's real mother and Lucy's real great-grandmother. But I'm gonna stick with this Mary as Lucky's mother, and guess that Seamus did marry some other woman named Mary as well, as you suggest.

I agree that we are missing a card. I has to be harder than "Father Mueller" because I have tried all the combinations of names that I can find in the recent posts.

"These were the puzzles that would take a day, these were puzzles that would take a week, and these puzzles they'd probably never figure out until we broke down and gave them the answers.....and er, well, yeah, the unSlingers didn't get them until we broke down and beat them over the head with the answers at the poker table!" Shocked

Another candidate for the missing card is the kid who broke in to the speakeasy and was coldcocked by O'Kelly. I find this kid especially interesting because Richardson says "Later on, a boy with a gun came in, looking for trouble. Al's men dealt with him, but I want to know more." If he wants to know more, so do I.

The kid's uncle was apparently someone killed at the St. Valentine's Day massacre. Becuase it is said of OneEyedMickey that "he met that kid's uncle last February, when he was shooting holes in him with a machine gun."

According to this site, those killed were:

Johnny May - an ex-safecracker who had been hired by George "Bugs" Moran as an auto mechanic.
Frank and Pete Gusenberg, who were supposed to meet Moran and pick up two empty trucks to drive to Detroit and pick up smuggled Canadian whiskey/
James Clark, Moran's brother-in-law
Adam Heyer; Al Weinshank; and Reinhardt Schwimmer, a young optometrist who had befriended Moran and hung around the liquor warehouse just for the thrill of rubbing shoulders with gangsters.

Any of these ring a bell to provide part of a name?

Best trout ever! The late night restart into the game after laying off since Sat. eve was clearly a bad idea! I had already read Shad0's great summary, and all the text on Peter's page and forgotten all about it as I was working my way through the other characters!

Grandmother-in-law? Does that exist? Hehe.
Well, ok. If they are old-fashioned and always take the last name of the husband (a family like the Brown's sure does, I guess), it must be.
One of my uncles kept his wife's last name, just to show you where I'm coming from. Wink
