Hypothesize no more. The PMs confirmed that this is exactly what happened: they requested permission from Ye Olde Chicago Cemetery, and it was not granted.

I have at least a couple dozen extra LA chips, and thanks to the gracious and generous JackBurt0n, imbri, HitsHerMark, and hmrpita, I require nothing in return -- just pm me your address. I also think I'll try to organize the Wiki to make it a bit more useful for chip traders.

I wonder how many cemeteries here they contacted, though. Or under what umbrella. There's a huge area of Jewish cemeteries here called Waldheim - over three hundred separate mini graveyards in the near west suburbs, all huddled together. That's where I went looking for a Maurice, and also did a Bad Detective, and a Secret Message.

There are a huge number of large cemeteries here.

Well, Jane said they tried around a dozen, IIRC, but the Archdiocese not only forbade them to use any of those twelve, but forbade them from using any cemeteries with Catholics buried in them in Chicago.

The Jewish cemeteries might be nice, but then again, good luck finding any clubs. Razz

Dude, I saw a goodly number of clubs in the one tiny little section I found open!

'Sides, at Hollywood Forever, we were positively swimming in diamonds. Many muttered profanities as we tried to make full houses with 3 Aces of Diamonds, etc.

It would also be helpful to have pictures of the chips so we can easily tell what we have and what we don't have, for those of us that have "broken" sets. Since I got lost somewhere during week three (ty to Hurricane Wilma) I have not labled mine by city, I used the era they were from for the naming.

Here are the three I currently have...
(BTW Thanks Omnie! Yours arrived today, lame packing and all. My lame packing wasn't much different. Wink )

I am missing (at least) the "Art Deco/Speakeasy" and the "Pioneer" chips, and any I failed to notice during the week without power...

OK, a final cry for help...

I really, really, really, really would like to have a full set. Sadly I can offer only my eternal gratitude in return (as I was unable to make any of the events).

If you have any/all of the following: a SF, KC or ATL chip,
and would be willing to part with it and send it out to a cold Canadian, my happiness would ensue, and you would get a warm tingly feeling inside from helping out a friendly Canuck and fellow ARGer.

Please, please, please PM me if you would be willing to send me one of those chips.

My eternal thanks go out to those people who have sent me chips so far - you guys rock (and the jump of my heart and foolish grin when I see a little chip fall out of an envelope is a sight to behold). So ScrappyDoo, thunderclap8 (and soon Shad0), my thanks. Very Happy

I'm running out of KC chips, so I'll only accept LA chips to trade now. So if you got LA chips, I'll trade some KC chips.

I have plenty of LA chips and after the holidays will start sending them out to those who are in need, just PM me your address and I'll keep a list.

I'm still looking for some SF chips, please?

Does the Archdioceses have trespass jurisdiction over every single cemetery in Chicago with a Catholic buried in it? That cannot be true...

It seems to me that there were a number of Jewish clubs in Atlanta. Is there some reason why there wouldn't be any in Chicago?

Besides keeping a few for myself, I'm willing to trade the ATL chip for the ever elusive KC chips. After I get a full set, I'm willing to back fill anyone else's chip obligations as much as possible. I've already obligated approx 1/3 of my stock.

This is why I mentioned Waldheim. Over 300 cemeteries/sections, and all Jewish.

Hey folks, don't forget about the chips trading section of the wiki: here.

Someone was smart enough to update and organize it, making it a great resource for chip trading. Kudos to whoever did that!

As a shameless plug, I'm looking for 1 more NYC chip. I have DC chips to trade, or will buy it if need be.

Thanks y'all.
