NEW JERSEY CELEBRITY SIGHTED NEAR AGLAURA - July 16, 2003

An anonymous tipster has reported that local television newswoman Tracie Schmidt was reported in and around Aglaura today. Tracie is an on-air personality for Channel 8, Burlington County News, who has reported on Aglaura and related stories several times in the recent past. Rumors are that Ms. Schmidt is in the area doing a special report on the series of strange events that have gripped the area in the past few weeks. She did a similar report for Channel 8 a short while ago so Aglaura residents are assuming a follow-up report may be in the works.

Aglaura News 7/20 re: JD

Quote:
BOROUGH ATTORNEY J.D. WILLINGHAM FOUND DEAD - July 20, 2003
PLEASE SEE CORRECTION BELOW

Aglaura residents were shocked this morning to awaken to reports that Aglaura Borough Attorney and local businessman, J. Douglas Willingham, was found dead last night in a remote area of the Diana's Grove Recreational Area, where the Aglaura Hiking Trails begin. Aglaura Police reportedly received an anonymous tip about the presence of a body in the area late last night and responded to find the body that has been identified as Atty. Willingham. No other details were available but both the Aglaura Mayor and the Police Chief have confirmed the initial report and expressed their sympathies to his family.
CORRECTION: Besides being the Aglaura Borough Attorney, Doug Willingham was also heavily involved in local civic activities, such as the Aglaura Public Library Renovation project and, ironically enough, the development of the Hiking Trails along the outskirts of Aglaura. He is survived by his wife, Phyllis Willingham, who is the owner and operator of the Hollow Needle Rare Books and Antiques store, the business in the Willingham family home on Old Dobbs Road, in Aglaura. More details as they are available.

Well, that's the last thing Phyllis needs, she already had a bunch of looky-lous from the trial publicity.

UPDATE July 21st Aglaura news: Phyllis home raided by Police

GRAND JURY / FEDERAL OFFICIALS RAID WILLINGHAM HOME - July 21, 2003

Federal investigators, acting under the authority of the Marzano Enterprises Grand Jury in Burlington, raided the home of late Aglaura Borough Attorney J. Douglas Willingham late Sunday night, seizing personal records, computer equipment, and miscellaneous undisclosed items. Mrs. Phyllis Willingham, widow of the recently deceased Aglaura official, grief -stricken and enraged, was heard to exclaim, "This is outrageous! Have they no decency, no respect for my privacy?" as boxes and items were carried out of her home. Representatives of the Grand Jury refused to comment on the action.
The body of J. D. Willingham was found over the weekend in a secluded wooded area by Aglaura Police, responding to an anonymous tip. They have yet to release any details on the death. Attorney Willingham was due to appear today before the Marzano Grand Jury at the Burlington County Courthouse.

You weren't the only one Sunny, I sent a note to Chief Prufrock that Don Marzano had paid a visit to Hollow Needle.... so if they send you to the dog house, I'm going with you....

PHYLLIS WILLINGHAM SPEAKS TO THE PRESS - July 21, 2003

Phyllis Willingham, looking pale and shaken, appeared outside of the Aglaura Municipal Building today after identifying the body of her late husband, J. Douglas Willingham, and made this statement to the press and public gathered outside:

"My husband – my late husband -- J. Douglas Willingham, was an important and well-respected member of this community. I am sure that I am not alone in this profound loss. To most of you, he was J.D., the Borough Attorney, who worked tirelessly in service for the people of Aglaura. To me, he was Douglas, the man I loved and with whom I have shared my entire adult life. I cannot quite grasp the fact that he will never come home to me again, that we will never talk again…. In recent weeks, he had grown distant from me so I have no details, no understanding at all of the issues that involved him in the Grand Jury investigation nor do I understand the reasons for his indictment. I believe – as I must for my own peace of mind – that at his end, he was trying to do what is honorable and proper for that is the kind of man I always knew him to be."

Iris Page, the psychic investigator she hired to resolve the mysterious paranormal activities that have plagued this town, accompanied Mrs. Willingham. Mrs. Willingham refused to answer additional questions, saying only, "I don't know. I don't know anything about any of it."

Mrs. Willingham is the owner and operator of the Hollow Needle Rare Books and Antiques store, on Old Dobbs Road, in Aglaura.

LOCAL TV NEWSWOMAN REPORTED MISSING - July 22, 2003

Tracie Schmidt, local television news personality for Channel 8, Burlington County News, was reported missing this morning by Channel 8 executives. According to a press release issued by the television station, Ms. Schmidt has not been seen or heard from since early Saturday morning, July 19th. "Tracie is an important part of our organization and a much-loved member of the Channel 8 family," said John Strellano, a spokesman for the station, "And we will spare no resources in finding her." Mr Strellano declined to answer questions from the press and promised more information as it is available.
Tracie Schmidt had recently been in the Aglaura area doing research for an upcoming story on Channel 8. New Jersey State Police have opened an investigation into Ms. Schmidt's disappearance but refused to comment at this time.

POLICE PULL BODY FROM LOCAL LAKE -July 23, 2003

Quote:
POLICE PULL BODY FROM LOCAL LAKE -July 23, 2003

State and local police personnel found and recovered an unidentified body from the Lake of Tears, a local water recreational area located just outside of Aglaura. The discovery was made this afternoon in a second day of searching at the Lake by local, regional, and state officials. Aglaura Police Chief, Dawn Prufrock, confirmed the grim reports but refused to make any further comments. She denied that there was any apparent connection between today's events and the recent death of Aglaura Attorney J. Douglas Willingham.

The Lake of Tears was closed for the rest of the day following the discovery and is expected to remain closed through Friday. Representatives of the recreational area promised the Lake would be re-opened by the weekend, however, and maintain regular operating hours.

Wonder who this will turn out to be? Sal, Tracie, or Dale?
