Creepy. Lots of backwards voices. Someone want to record it and play it back?

When I clicked on the link above I got the japanese version. If you go here first you can pick your language.

Anyone feel like collaborating and/or giving out hints? It seems like I have gotten pretty far, but am not sure where to go from here. (The following spoiler shows what I have, but not how it was obtained.)
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
I have a boatload if items, many of which are sitting on the shelf (framed picture, lit incense, beer can, pill bottle, hair & paper), have all 6 Chinese characters, something to tell me their position, and something to tell me some sort of order within that position. Unfortunately, I do not know what they are used for, nor have I found a way to open that diary.
At this point, I pretty much keep spinning in circles (literally...around the room).

To open the diary...

you need to find the key. Recheck the skeleton. It's really hard to find, but it's there.

Sure:
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
The key to the book is in the skeleton's left hand. There's a lighter under the trash can, but you have to examine the hairy paper first before you can move the trash. The beer, incense, cd case, and lighter can go on the counter top with the ringing chopsticks, but that's as far as I've gotten.
If you find anything else, let me know, I'm already pissed off at this thing.

Have you opened the pill bottle? Also, you can use the lighter on the hair (smelly), then the paper (to reveal invisible ink). The grid on each of these two imply some kind of connection, and the characters match the six tiles/papers/whatever. Burning the hair away to get to the paper seems like a waste though.
Edit to add:
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
If you click in just the right place at the skeleton's feet, you can take the blanket. The blanket contains a little fold-up cardboard die [singular of dice]. There is a 4-digit combination lock around the skeleton's feet. When the tiles are attached to the die in proper order, you get "a box to put a dead person's soul in."

The oldest trick in the book What is, arguably, the most common password choosing scheme, apart from names (of child, spouse, etc)?

allright...what am I missing...... haven't done anything with the peephole due to the missing doorknob that looks into the previous room, but don't think there's anything to do there.
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
I'm getting a message of "one more thing to add" when I ring the 'bell' (have chilled can, lit incense and empty cd case on the shelf) ....the only thing I don't have (or have had) in my inventory is something in the bottom left corner for the inventory

I am dead desperate now. Please help me.
Where am I to look for the chinese letter-card, which is to fit into the 5'th "slot". Don't tell me exactly where it is, just where it's around.
I haven't yet found anything when I look up to the lightbulb. Is it there?
