I took that to mean that O3 has a kid, and V was nice enough to send his congratulations. Do I have it backward?
You're right, I didn't read it properly, its O3 that has the kid.

And the wife so we know O3 is male. O4 seems infactuated with V (possible relationship???) and assuming V is male-which is how I read the emails-O4 is female-however that's quite a large spec.
Oddly there are no references to people in London who knew about the Clapham Common event other than O8 (the mole) (O2 wasn't told) but there were definitly in game 3P people at the helipad. Can we assume that this is either a mistake by MC or that each operative also has a team of people working for them?

Actually, I believe Monica suggested to us that V is male by using a male pronoun in reference to him. Am I remembering this correctly? And I did notice something going on with V and O4 -- in fact, I noticed a few of them were much more casual with him than others. Why might that be? Some are just unprofessional? Or some knew V from before this mission, while others signed up very recently?
That brings us to O8's newness, and the fact that he's not entirely trusted by the whole team. Might he not be a bad guy after all? [/spec]

O7 clearly knows him (and it is a him confirmed by O7's emails) in a more personal capacity.

Slightly off topic and most definitely [SPEC] but this whole Third Power business reminds me of the Tripod Political system.
This is where you have power held by three parties, for example, the 'Military', the 'Academics' and the 'Workers'. Thus providing a balance of sorts. We know the 'Academics' would be led by Sente and the leader of the 'Military' has been mentioned within the game (although the Wiki seems to be down at the moment so I cannot seem to locate his name.)
However, we don't seem to know much about the workers. I cannot recall any real mention about anything being 'produced' in the city beyond Earth replica goods, fashionable clothes and food. Surely there would be more of a work force in a city that seems so insular? Perhaps this is what the Third Power represents? The down-trodden working class that has been marginalised by society? (The other thing of note about a political tripod is that is is a very unstable system needing only one 'leg' to fail to bring the whole thing crashing down.)
End of [/SPEC]

I thought V's manliness (so to speak) was qualified by:
Quote:
Date: 10 October 2005 12:18pm
From: O7
To: O5, O2
Subject: V
I can hardly say *where*, can I? It's absurd anyway. He works at this stupid little job - says it's good cover, gives him a normal life. More like it gives him a chance to indulge his kink....
Although he seems to be a bit kinky?

Doggonit - all this while I was sleeping?! I never even got to access the group manager
Oh well - seems like another misdirection to me - I'm gonna have to agree with Bri's thread about the authenticity of the site...
We got bent over once already - don't need it a second time.
But I mean - what are we gonna do - if they stage another live event, we HAVE to go - I mean, if we don't what would MC do with the story line - we'd have messed everything up... we can't avoid being burned again like this if we want the story to continue... if someone major is going to get murdered or something - and the 3P is misdirecting us from that murder ("C"!!!!) - what are we supposed to do?

To be fair I dont think it is a misdirection. Remember this site was hidden and encoded, we've (and i mean lots of other people rather than me!) have had to do alot of detective work to get the passwords, so it wasnt really easy. Also no system is totally secure that it cant be hacked.
Besides how else are we supposed to get info to play the game?

No more contact information could be found in the groupware that sucks.
I was hoping to find info on how to send messages in their system, hopefully make it sound like O8 or another agent was going to betray V, or is not doing his job.
That way if we get them fired we might be able to convince the disgruntled employee to be on our side.
Basically play with their heads like they did ours, two can play at deception.
But alas nothing close to even a contact info, or no ideas on how to send messages into the network. The IP Disabled thing is hard-coded... so it looks like the entire site is view only (no write support built in yet).

Good idea Vortex, but somehow if someone was going to betray V, I think they'd just kill him rather than give him a pink slip.

The idea is to set the wheel in motion then alert the victim and snatch them before he does. Keep in mind V's going to kill you is alot of motivation to switch sides. That was after all Monica's motivation.

True - but as you said - there's no way for us to contact them.... perhaps the opportune moment isn't upon us yet
Question is however - where do we go from here?
The new somniotherapy phone line and or the new Receda's Revenge?

Actually don't those things have to be setup by someone, have all the registrants turned out to be mind candy so far? If not I would try calling the owners of the number.

trout me if this was already noticed and I'm just slow, or bad at scanning multiple pages of text.
