 		[LJ UPDATE][DEC. 22] Update WITH A MOVIE?!
Someone should really ask her how, if she's been fired, Annie can keep posting in her Personal directory.

I took a camcorder last weekend with intentions of documenting the trip. After everything went wrong... after I lost track of Parrish...

The only footage I have is on the tape that was in the camera. I transferred it over this morning. After watching it again, after remembering what she said to me...


I can't handle this.

The movie itself gives us some great reveals. We see the full Renovation building, and get our first look at Annie and Parrish. Parrish looking like the doofus he is, also can't act. However...

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
We get to see what the gateway does. It turns out the day-glo chick is, in fact, a little girl, who has a ridiculously creepy scream.

As they explore the renovations, Parrish brings them through the gateway, which turns out to be the location of the video. They are approached by a strange, little girl who asks Annie to bring her with them. When Parrish freaks out on her, the girl says "You're making me ANGRY!" and shrieks until the camera goes black.

The camera turns back on with Parrish calling for Annie. He tells her to take the camera and run. He will stay behind to find some things out. And here is the BIG REVEAL!
[spoiler]Parrish is a Firekeeper, he's been a double-agent all along.

Annie takes the camera, running back through the gateway while you hear the child calling for her in the background. As the camera starts to break down, she runs up the stairs.[/spoiler]

Anne has a nice voice, but yeah: Parrish can't act.

 		Also, he looks like Archie. It's kinda funny, when you think about it.

Annie's actually kinda cute in that non-supermodel way (what can I say, I find plain really cute Smile, and I like her voice, too.

Still want to know where the character is supposed to live.

 		Well, that's not the best acting I've ever seen, but - damn. That's creepy.

I don't like that little girl. At all. I suspect she's the creature Vapor pulled out of the Gateway the first time, the one they interrogated.

I'm . . . huh. Kind of glad, actually, that Parrish is a better person than he acts like most of the time.

So that's what the inside of the Gateway looks like, huh? A forest. That's familiar.

Anne's dream, from what she shared one of those who asked her about her recent nightmares. I think. Not sure, I can't seem to find where that post of that correspondence right now.

 		Stupid movie...I neither get sound on this one nor on the other one. Did the previous movie have sound?
Quicktime can't find the codec or whatever it needs on their server...
I have Matroska and VL player installed and can't get any sound their, either.
Anyone? Question

Try installing the newest version of Quicktime (there is a place to get it without iTunes)? I know i had to install a stream authoring codec for it to play, but it does work for me.

The last one doesn't have sound, but this one does.

Either that or turn up your speakers. Smile

 		Oh damn, I'm stupid! I just remembered that I installed an older version of Quicktime in order to be able to play Riven (that's an adventure game, in case you never heard of it; sequel to Myst which you might have heard about).
I guess that would be the problem.

I would assume someone other than Parrish filmed the initial video, since it was filmed with the C.A.T.S. device rather than by a person (thus the "stoplight device" that theShaggy refers to).

Definitely the same little girl, though -- think she has anything to do with the text excerpts we got about yokai early on?

Wouldn't the newer version of Quicktime still be compatible with older games? I've never had a problem in that respect.

(I own Riven, but have never been able to get very far... I still find it funny that it took them something like 5 years to make Riven, and then brought out three more sequels and an MMORPG within that same amount of time.)

Explain what you mean by CATS device... hrm...

I would agree that it isn't Parrish, it seems like he's been kept decidedly in the field for a long while, apart from the actual gateway, so it's possibly just one of the experimenters of the project.

That would explain why the little girl was crouching to look into the camera.

I must've been too busy going "yay code" on that page to actually read what was really written on it.
