I think you're right about the pictures... I was having the same thought about Martin Halder being the daughter. I tried some female m___halder names but didn't come up with anything... yet.

Wild Speculation: Could Martin Halder be Millie (Robert's Wife) instead of Martin. It's possible Lucky and his croonies may have hidden Millie who was being searched for by someone (say Otto Griff), by disguising her as a boy and eventually bringing her back to the states.

Eventually, her and Robert marry with a secret of her origin. Later, once Lucky dies, Robert needs the gun to keep Millie safe.

Just a thought:

There is no Martin Halder. The girl, in order to not be raped, sold, whatever, by soldiers dressed as a boy. After she was gotten of the country out by Lucky and the crew, was able to revert to the girl she was.

What do you think?

celina, while I do think this is the case... I don't see how William's update proves anything conclusively. This is still spec. Solid, IMHO, but not confirmed for sure. No offense or anything, but I don't want to confuse people who think there's something they're missing. It's just a bigger picture, that lends credibility to the idea, but not proof.
