Hey Thunder Smile

I did type the name in over and over and in many different ways.. sigh. And I know I was spelling it right too! Weird. I found the name about an hour before I posted above.

Maybe they won't let me have any glory since I killed pia Wink

Take care,

Well I definitely give credit to you.

Cortana found this from the flash movie on the major's page:
http://www.lastcallpoker.com/user/Profile.aspx?UserName=rositakleinyflores

And then from the (possibly a PM error) name in the title bar of her page, I found:
http://www.lastcallpoker.com/user/Profile.aspx?UserName=kellieogrady

There's new stuff on Bierce's page now too.

Dang. I was looking for Kellie O'Grady (from Kerry's family tree + info on McPherson's page -- she's married to Bejamin O'Grady, I think) and didn't have any luck ... the cards don't come up until you've unlocked what is supposed to precede them, I guess!

Yah that's the bad part to this game. Even though you know the cards ahead, they don't show up until the unlocks happen. I was right on two cards this week, but when I tried them yesterday, they didn't show.
Rolling Eyes
Oh well. I got to play Tombstone Hold Em.

How could you have known any cards, yesterday? Patton?
Or what do you mean by "yesterday"?

I've pretty good at American History. I did some additional research.
I have my own speculations. I follow them. If you were in the cemetery today playing Hold Em, you would have seen me pulling my partner aside and discussing some very important clues that we were given. They mentioned two nicknames of historical figures. I know who they both are and would imagine that they will be cards. I'm right on track with the game. Smile

not sure I understand

Is it that some people may not want to post spec and research because when the card unlocks someone can use their answers? And that way someone else will get "credit" for the solve in the game?

The problem is that anyone can say afterwards that they knew a card would be found. The only way to prove it--not that it matters one way or the other-- is to post the spec before the update. I had been wondering why more ideas weren't being posted.

I recall someone posted about Al Capone ahead of time, and when that happened I thought they were very smart. I even wondered if the PMs altered the card names or the story after they knew we were on the right track.

And then there is the whole collaboration theme. .....

This isn't meant to criticize. People should play a game however they want to play. This thread is helping me understand why this game isn't as collaborative as others have been.

well yeah they are pitting us all against eachother. Like poker sometimes you have to bluff to win the hand. Dont worry the lost arg like game has come out and will follow normal play.

I think that most players still post their thoughts to try to advance the game as best they can. Sometimes things happen so fast in this game that you just can't post before you read the next page.

Or like me, you kids keep make you go buy pumpkins right when the action starts! Good job today! I wish I could have participated.

A lot of those today!

First there was the fiasco of Pancho Villa, in which an LCP player already had that name, and it soon resulted in massive Ctrl-V'ing to be the first to load up the Pancho screen.

Then, with Hearst (Which I will still swear to this day that I tried only minutes before, to no avail), we may have found a PM placeholder in the likes of 'PatriciaSpark2005', a phantom user who was initially creditted with the find.

Other madness ensued with some problems with the player search bar while visiting certain player pages, as well as some un-notified editting of some documents (such as the blueprints page.)

I honestly don't think panchovilla was a player, originally. (I fully accept being wrong on this, when it comes time to find out for sure, of course)

I think Lucky accidentally pushed the button to activate the profile as a 'player' profile, and so all the Pancho Villa stuff was sort of stuffed into a void, which is why the big avatar started showing up as a small thumbnail, etc. The default avatar probably loaded, and then the Pancho Villa-specific items loaded, causing the template to start breaking.

As we noticed in real time in IRC, panchovilla had *no* Quicklinks until we all started spasmodically quicklinking him.

With the advent of many of us going in to poker tables and quicklinking everyone we see in a game, I seriously doubt anyone playing any poker at all would be in such a state, unless they were a very new player -- in which case I believe the PMs would most definitely have restricted on that name by that point.

Dunno. It'll be interesting to find out!

UPDATE IN REVIEW

This is the first week where much more happened in the chat than in the update thread--again a symptom of people wanting to get cards as quickly as possible. I'm just documenting what has been found in one entry to make it easier for the latecomers to get caught back up.

I've spoilered my commentary in case people want to read the pages clean first (trout me all you want, but I sometimes come in a day late and still want to figure things out). Here goes:

2005 UPDATES-

Don McPherson (5)
http://www.lastcallpoker.com/user/profile.aspx?UserName=donaldmcpherson

Kerry Tucker (3)
http://www.lastcallpoker.com/user/profile.aspx?UserName=kerrytucker

Lucy Brown (1)
http://www.lastcallpoker.com/user/profile.aspx?UserName=andadaughter

Janet Brown (2)
http://www.lastcallpoker.com/user/profile.aspx?UserName=oneeyedqueen

Corazon "Pedro" Suarez (1)
http://www.lastcallpoker.com/user/profile.aspx?UserName=corazonsuarez

Johnny Deuces (dead)
http://www.lastcallpoker.com/user/profile.aspx?UserName=johnnydeuces

Matt Viet (1)
http://www.lastcallpoker.com/user/profile.aspx?UserName=wtf616

Clay Sizemore (2)
http://www.lastcallpoker.com/user/profile.aspx?UserName=preacher

Spider (1)
http://www.lastcallpoker.com/user/profile.aspx?UserName=spider

SUMMARY OF NEW PLOT TWISTS-
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
Corazon (Pedro) is the brother of Johnny Deuces, who gives her the pawn ticket for the gun. McPherson finds out Corzon's address, which Vic was worried about about in a poker game yesterday, and taps Kerry to get the gun. Kerry recognizes the address and confronts Corazon about the pawn ticket. Donald lets loose some information about Kerry's real family, the Sullivans (Tucker was his stepfather's name), and we find out he knows Lothar Barbel. He kills Johnny Deuces for pawning the wrong gun.Matt, who stole the gun from the pawn shop, gives it to Clay, who ponders throwing it in the ocean and then reburies it. Lucy is contacted by Spider about William's kidnapping. She goes to Corazon's, where she sees Kerry fresh from his Simon beating, and she visits Janet's, where she learns about an old "gunslinger" relative with the initial's JSC.

NEW 2005 CARD:
Carlos Delaje
http://www.lastcallpoker.com/user/profile.aspx?UserName=carlosdelaje
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
In the poker game with Vic we find out that "Delaje," from Spider's profile, is a surname. That's put together with Carlos from the William kidnapping video.

THE 1914 CARDS:
Banker - William R. Hearst
http://www.lastcallpoker.com/user/profile.aspx?UserName=williamrhearst
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
On his page we find that he travels by the name George Abel, and that he has blueprints for a building built--get this--at Matt's current address (from his arrest warrant).

Sheriff - Pancho Villa
http://www.lastcallpoker.com/user/profile.aspx?UserName=panchovilla
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
Found when every human being playing the game control-Ved "Panchovilla" until they put the card up. A flash movie on this page, when zoomed in on, gives us Major Damon Michael.

Killer - John Smith Caldwell
http://www.lastcallpoker.com/user/profile.aspx?UserName=johnsmithcaldwell
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
Found from combining the last name of the pistolero in Bierce's page, where he's identified as Villa's enforcer or "killer," with the information about Lucy Brown's gunslinging relative.

Kid - George S. Patton
http://www.lastcallpoker.com/user/profile.aspx?UserName=georgespatton
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
Found with a tip from Lucky, I believe. Though the picture of Patton is older, he is young during this campaign--a second Lt (promoted from Captain).

Gambler - Kellie O'Grady
http://www.lastcallpoker.com/user/profile.aspx?UserName=kellieogrady
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
Found through the comparisons of the two family trees, or through the (mistaken?) naming of Rosita's page as "Kellie O'Grady").

Preacher - Ambrose Bierce
http://www.lastcallpoker.com/user/profile.aspx?UserName=padreinferno
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
A famous author, Bierce, who is much older, is an observer in Villa's army and acting as a chaplain (although it becomes clear he's not a real priest). Like Clay, the 2005 preacher-who's-not-really-a-preacher, he carries the Gun.

Half-breed - Rosita Klein y Flores
http://www.lastcallpoker.com/user/profile.aspx?UserName=rositakleinyflores
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
Name found through combining the first name "Rosita," from Caldwell's page with the last name "Klein y Flores" on Maj. Damon Michael's.

Drunk - Major Damon Michael
http://www.lastcallpoker.com/user/profile.aspx?UserName=majordamonmichael
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
The major served in China, got kicked out of the US Army, likes Opium alot and has a daughter Mei Lu that in a drunken haze, he mistakes Rosita for (spec).

Hope that helps. Please correct me if I've missed something, or if I got something wrong--I was doing this from memory mostly.

Yes - thanks! All that solving and no explaining makes for confusion.

I've found that I'm more reluctant to give information since I'm not in the inner circle and the game is becoming annoying because of it. For instance: I know I'll never get Victor's hat because I don't belong in the circle. I remember in the thread that someone said, "Let's keep the hat with us."

I found this site and became a member of this community becuase of this game, but it's with attitudes like that that are beginning to turn me off.

Also, last week, when they contacted the fellowship of the dead members, which I am one of, I got 16 PMs in 5 seconds asking me what date Lucky gave me. I was asking where we all were sharing this information and didn't get an answer besides, "in IRC", or "Chat" and was just told to tell them my date. Many people got irate with me when I wouldn't give them my information until I could have an equal chance of solving the puzzle if I joined "them." I worked hard to be in the fellowship of the dead, don't I deserve an equal chance to solve?

Because I can't get IRC to work, I reluctantly gave my date to konamouse. Five seconds later it was solved. I was trying to talk to konamouse about a possible spec and she replied, "No need, Solved"

I am glad I was able to help. Sad

I keep plugging away at the game on my own, but this whole ARGN versus unknowns isn't going to progress the future of ARG gaming. It's only going to push the unknown people (who we all once were) away from it.

Solving things in chat is great and like others, I think Chat is fun for a few, but the forums is fun for all.

Thanks to base, that's lot of work.

It's annoying though to read it after the fact, because I'm not playing the game anymore, I'm just reading an online novel.

Sorry for the soapbox, it's just frustrating.
