Ah yes, the other core-activity of the server. Mind wiping.

Indeed who are you if you are also all others you were. And I already pointed out Jordan seemed to have experience with the trouble the doc caused by resisting the mind wipe and the taking. It may just have been a previous incarnation of the doc. But indeed a previous incarnation. Maybe thats why he expected the trouble....

Looking at it from the soul's side is making things very complex. Mainly the question; "who is/are/were it/he/I/we/they?"

So far there is no evidence the doc is remembering other lives he has lived....yet. Lets stick with his current identity of a scientist from the WWII age, and keep in mind his soul is as old as the server is.

Just so we don't lose the little grip we have on this story.

If, when you die, it is The First Taking, and when you are "reinserted" it is The Second Taking, what then happens when you die the second time? Is it again a First Taking because you have no memories of your "first life" and are "new" again or reborn?

Consequently, is the world then populated over and over again by the same souls, with population growth possible because these "old souls" continue to have children when "reborn", as do their children?

If so, then there must be some really old souls in the server....dating back to
The Beginning.

jumping into the spec pool with my morning tea in hand--

i was thinking it was more that the servers are a pit stop.
kinda like the christian purgatory w/o the judgement
the first taking happens at death and then you hang
out while they wipe out your memories and select
the next human you'll be inserted into--(the second taking)
but i don't
think our "jordan davis" gets all the souls (although he'd like to)
he's like a high tech satan/lucifer sorta guy
other souls move on some other way--

If we had our own forum for this game, I'd be all over the META thread like white on rice. But we don't, so I won't discuss the logistics of this story or how it may affect the longevity of this game. Yet.

Assuming Jordan is telling the truth about the Servers and souls and what not, I say we destroy the servers. Let human souls go wherever they are supposed to go after they die. This server business is just wacko. I mean, what's our alternative, turn Dr. Munchen back to Jordan so he can have his mind wiped, or more likely, his soul destroyed (since mind wiping doesn't seem to be effective on the good doctor)?

Then again, we must consider the possibility that Jordan is a raving lunatic who has as much to do with servers and reincarnation as I have to do with synchronized underwater basket weaving. Nothing. If that's the case, what's really happening?

And on that note, I'd like to wish all of you who celebrate it a very Happy Thanksgiving! I'm off to eat way more turkey, stuffing, potatoes, and other things than should ever be stuffed into my body at one time!

Uhm, just for your interest: We can split up this thread. We don't need to post every little bit of information, spec, meta or whatever in this one. So, go on and open a new thread within this part of the forum. Everybody of us is allowed to do that, as long as he or she follows the guidelines.

I don't know why we need an own forum for ourselfs, right now. Just open some one or two more threads for menace-media and then everybody will be happy.

There are only four more games on this part of the forums, so i don't see a big problem to share this space with them.

At least, this is only my point of view, so your's may differ from mine.
