I just can't think of many clues that won't just give away the game.
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
The Von Neumann clue is simply referring to his work on the modern computer. He developed the architecture we use today where storage and processing (the CPU) are held seperately.

Basically, yes, I did use at least two "programs" to get the answer.
I could equally have used one program and a bit of programming, but I was too lazy.
One of the two programs, almost everyone has at least got access to, and the other (optional one) I downloaded from the net (freely)

Right, still only two more people managed to solve this.. Maybe if I get some direct questions?
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
It's possibly worth noticing that the amongst the last few characters, it decodes to "Enigma" in ASCII which is then null terminated.

How can you tell who's solved it? Is there a winners page somewhere?
I finished the trail yesterday by the way. Thanks for all the hints folks! I think von Neumann was one of the few I managed to figure out with no hints/googling
The 3 columns of numbers one really threw me for a few days until the lightbulb finally turned on.
Great contest Brian!

Ok, so I'm feeling dumb-ish at the moment.
The candles one is easy, I think, and I think I have the right answer, but when I try to make "_____.html" out of it, I get the dreaded 404 error. Is there some trick to this that I'm not seeing?
Thanks in advance,
SheRa

Just use lowercase letters to give this answer.
If you need to enter a similar sort of answer later in the trail, don't use any letters at all.

Clue of the day...?
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
The extra program I downloaded was a hex editor.

The first page of the contest has had some updates put on it, that's one of them.

Last Puzzle - Need help ?
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
Almost all common CPUs today can be very accurately described as Von Neumann stored program machines.
The data given in the last puzzle is (as it can plainly be seen) hexadecimal.
As Steve said, try grabbing a hex editor, it will make more apparent sense.
