Sorry guys. . . just trying to get the conversation started again as I was hoping someone had really solved it and would toss us a bone. In other words, I haven't cracked it, either. Been playing with the hash pipe, so to speak, but coming up empty. Not giving up but not a lot of time to work on it these past couple of days.

hmmm i though that if i they were the two sub list for a merge sort then if i could sort them or reverse them it would give me something i could maybe stick into a hex - ASCII converter

If we could list what this Von Numman has done maybe we could get a clue

So far there's
Merge sort
Pseudorandom number generators

any others that could help?

Go back to page 2 of this thread and there are several hints there about which document you should be referring to and what to do when you work it out.

Now, can anyone give me another hint about the Su-Doku? Embarassed
I've solved the puzzle but can't work out what to do now...

Look at the invisible text on the page and see if that gives a helping hand - use right-click and select all to find it easily.

If that's not enough...
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
Try looking at it in rows. Then look back to one of the older puzzles and see if what you get could be converted to something else....

Hope that's enough to get you going, I think my mind just works in odd ways - the binary one had me stumped for a whole day, and I solved the sudoku one within 10 mins!

Could someone help on resistance is futile, I know I'm asking for help everywhere, but if I get through this one then I can do the griddler easy and I'd have caught up, please reply quick coz I can only get on net at college and that's the reason I don't have time to think on this much, please help once again. Just a little nudge would be good coz I'm completely befuzzled.

Just to let people know, Brian's updated the final page due to an error in transcription (every byte was swapped with it's nearest neighbour)...

It sure helped me (finished Smile)

Something tells me I'm going to need a C compiler for this last one.
SteveC, any hints?

Right, no-one seems to have struck as lucky as I did on this, so I guess I'll roll out the hints. Brian intended this to end up as a lottery, and I'm sure it would even without any hints from me, but still, it makes me feel superior Smile

I warn you though, I'm not great at spoilers, the are usually just as cryptic as the original...

Spoiler (Rollover to View):

What would include a stack of hex values in the full range of 00-FF, but still have a 'text' portion?
