[TRAILHEAD?] ARGFest DVD easter eggs There are some easter eggs on disk one. If you go up from the main menu where the cursor disappears, you get to three hidden areas. One of them is that awful wrapped-in-towels photoshop of Jamesi and Joe Brent which I will NOT reproduce here. There's also some text and a puzzle:
I've been working on the puzzle but think I'm stuck. First, I rearranged it so that I could make it into a cube, matching up the numbers on the sides:
Then I saw that you can make "WWW" in a couple of different directions.
There's a highlighted square on the original page which I made a bit more obvious in the cube template. Also, one square says "box" over and over, and another one said "this is base bottom". One of the squares has "roy g biv" in it, which I thought was interesting, but could be a coincidence.

I have learned from past experience that anything having to do with Dave S and cubes only leads to fustration, confusion, and a lot of crying.
The only thing to do is to walk away and let xnbomb solve it

I've held this in for over a month now. For any who have ordered Dave's book "Through The Rabbit Hole", and haven't read it yet, I'm going to use a spoiler.
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
Dave announced in his book that a sequel to the very famous and popular ARG, Chasing The Wish, is coming soon I think/hope this puzzle will lead us to something CTW II related.

So logically there should be a "www.tryandfindme.com" message on this one.
Scratch the bottom and the top for the moment. They say that they are just that, lets make life easy and believe them.
number the rest: 1 2 3 4
www is on 3 and 4 ( multiple options) com is on 1. 'All' we need to do now is find a snake between them that makes sense.
Should be easy enough. If I didn't need sleep that is.

Made an box. Maybe it wil help some.

R O B - top W
R Y A N - bottom W
R I V E R A - top W
I even have printed it out and made a box. Still not helping much more

See http://addlepated.net/argfest/box-solved2.jpg for details on how.

I am really excited. I wasn't around for CTW, but when i first heard of it, and checked out the archives, i was thrilled to see it took place in a fake town right next to my real town. it was neato. If this is going to be a CTW2, and not just a puzzle on the old site {ie: the fake coords from ILB for the argfest game} then i'm too excited to express it. I really love the "But dreams, like wishes, are elusive and hard to catch."
now, i am feeling really dumb, as i don't know how to google search for numbers with gaps...
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
blank 42 9 44 125 blank 147 104 18 50 blank 228
but that is the set...

Ashgrove Park as an amusement park website disappeared during the
game and turned into a cemetery. Now it is back.
Look around - somethings are different.
For example, there's a new riddle on the Fun & Games page:
Quote:
Can You Solve This Riddle?
Just two hairs grow upon her head,
But she wears a flowered gown
And dances along the flower bed -
The prettiest creature in town!
And different versions of Mind Reader and Unscramble on the second
Fun & Games page.
The Aglaura Home page is up.
I think this is what will be seen on the Chasing the Wish comic book(s).
/me starts looking through all her old CTW links that she kept in her Favorites folder

i have seen that riddle before.... but i can't remember the answer {propably something very obvious, eh?} so i googled it, and all i came up with was some modding forum site for Infinity Engine - which posts a butt load of riddles, but no solutions. swell...

I'm sure I'm overthinking this, but there are a lot of squares in those numbers. 42 and 228 kinda mess it up though:
__
42 = (6 * 7)
9 = 3^2 * 1
44 = 2^2 * 11
125 = 5^2 * 5
__
147 = 7^2 * 3
104 = 2^2 * 26
18 = 3^2 * 2
50 = 5^2 * 2
__
228 = (12 * 19)

Addlepated was on the right track, with the ideas being thrown around in chat we cracked it
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
Take the number and divide it by its position along the series so:
? 42 9 44 125 ? 147 104 18 50 ? 228
Becomes:
? 21 3 11 25 ? 21 13 2 5 ? 19
And changing into letters ala a=1, b=2 etc:
? U C K Y ? U M B E ? S
And from the page title and address you can see this is 'LUCKY NUMBERS'
so, taking the missing letters corresponding numbers and multiplying by their positions you get:
12x1 = 12
14x6 = 84
18x11 = 198
And those are the missing numbers.
Phew.
