Gah, response:
D wrote:
Ah yes, yes, those do indeed seem to be the numbers I've struggled in vain to
recall. Thank you very much for helping this old man recover at least a
semblance of peace of mind again.

As I said on the web page where the illustration of my hand and the numbers
appear, these numbers are indeed special, even lucky some might say. I feel
much better with the entire sequence in my mind again.

What a unique name you choose to call yourself. Six is a very special number,
you know, with both personal meaning to me and a greater mystical connection as
well. May your name keep you safe.

In any case, to thank you for your help, I've decided to offer you a choice. You
see, what are our lives, if not the sum of the choices we make along the way?
And besides, gambling does seem to be so very popular today, doesn't it? When
in Rome and all that.

Your first and easiest choice would be to send me an address where I can have a
package delivered to you, a reward for your work in solving the mystery of my
numbers. It will be something both appropriate and valuable, although its value
may not lie in the direction you immediately think of.

Your second choice would be to forego receiving the first reward and instead opt
to "up the ante" a little bit. I assure you that the challenge, risk, and reward
will be enhanced accordingly as well. To choose this option, provide me with
another means of contacting you - a telephone number preferably - and a good
time of day to reach you. If you do not want to or cannot provide a phone
number, a means of sending you instant messages online or via text would work
too. Lacking that, we can use your email address if you notify that this is
your preference, although it may somewhat hamper your ability to effectively
proceed from here.

Time is fleeting and there is much to do to prepare. I look forward to your
response.

D.

No way I can take the easy way out, so gotta up the ante Smile
Just need to work out a time that'll work, I'll probably have to use AIM or something being in NZ and all. And I hope my net doesn't go all screwy and slow on me Confused

Got the same email, other then the personalised bit...

Quote:
Hmm, Sam, eh? I seem to recall another Sam who has a role to play in all of this. Unfortunately, whether this is something that is yet to or has already happened, I am not sure. Such are the shortcomings of an aging mind.

And I sent back a phone number. I'm just asking for trouble being all the way here in Australia

For those who didn't play the first CTW, Sam Greene was the webmaster of the aglaura website and a friend of Dale. He helped us and Dale throughout the game.

EDIT:

I got a response also with a bit that was personalized...

Quote:
I knew a man, a Frenchman, whose last name was Varin once, long ago. Actually,
he revealed to me late one night that his given name was Garin, which
meant "to
shelter or protect," and that it had been changed at some point. It seems a
shame to lose your heritage by changing your name like that, doesn't it?

I also received the same e-mail, with a small bit personalized.

Quote:
Your name seems familiar to me - Roxanne. Have we met? Have you ever been to a strange little amusement park in New Jersey, one you found hard to find again once you had left? Ah, never mind. Perhaps I have you confused with someone else.

In the first CTW, Ash Grove Amusement park disappeared after Dale Sprague took his family there. When Dale tried to return, all he found was a cemetery.

Embarassed

It seems Dave's book Through the Rabbit Hole mentioned www.catchingthewish.com. I completely misread it as "chasing". There is a chapter in the book about the ctw graphic novel and a bit of a peek at the plot of...

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
...the accompanying ARG which will be the sequel to CTW. Dale Sprague is writing a comic about the strange dreams and flashbacks he's been having. The dreams and flashbacks are about his (and our) experience in the first CTW.

Maybe so... But in addition to that possibility, we are waiting to see who gets what responses in relation to thier choice {snail mail, or other way of contact}. From what I understood in the chatroom {and i say that because i do not remember if it is mentioned here} multiple people got asked to make that choice - and only some of them upped the ante {ie: contact other than snail mail}.

So, remember to View Source on every page you find.
And hit "Tab" key to find the hidden links that lead to other pages. Some of these are really small.
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
I'm finding a possible movie (doesn't play for me); a cartoon drawing of a street that reminded me just a little of that street we had behind Greywethers (but only a little); a .jpg that says "There is a world beneath this world and it's people are monsters"; our friend's hand (you know, the sixth finger) print; and another interesting page.

Where did you find the links? And how did you get to that last page?
I only found the first pages by changing the index #'s, I see no links.

On a diffrent note, I just got my email and I think I will be "uping the ante" Smile
