Halloween Horror Nights 2005 - (11/4/05) Unknown to all but the biggest fans of Halloween Horror Nights (hey, I didn’t know either!) Universal Orlando was holding a sort of secret contest/game of their own deep within the folds of HHN. It seems you could find clues to find a reward on select nights from a “blade” that would appear on the Terra Throne page. The clues were said to range from hard to just semi difficult and included translating text from Greek, backwards Spanish, finding coordinates in the park using Google Earth, and so on. In any case, the clues would help you determine a secret password to give at a specific location in the park on these select nights. The first few nights little prizes were given out and towards the end of the month, even harder clues were given out to quality for a bigger prize, a private event on the last night hosted by the HHN creative team in the Navigator’s Club (above Confusco’s). At the end of the night, those who attended the event were dressed in black robes and taken out to the Terra Throne as Witnesses to see the final sacrifice... the Terra Queen herself. A few photos of the private event have been posted to HHN Vault. My hats off to Universal for pulling off their own mini ARG (Alternate Reality Game) mixed in the folds of Halloween Horror Nights. Now next year, someone clue me in a little earlier than November so I can play too!
