When orange isn't necessarily orange Is everyone positive that the clue for episode three is orange? I agree there were inumerable references to orange, but many of them regarded the fruit, not the color. An agent was drinking an orange drink, the microfiche flashed on orange fruits, and even the spanish words at the end of the cremation scene used naranja (the fruit orange) instead of anaranjado (the color orange). This with the website in the opening credits being changed to PushTimes instead of dmvf.com makes me think that there might be further clues in the PushTime's article about blood oranges. At http://groups.yahoo.com/group/argnrefugees/files/links.html there is a link to two pictures showing the closing credits from epsiode 2 and 3. The episode 3 credit's background is decidedly blood red. I think this warrants a little more investigation. But then again, there were many more leads to orange and I'm probably just reaching here. Anyone else have an opinion?

I haven't ruled anything out although I'm leaning towards orange. However, I did notice several red "hints" in ep. 3. In the scene where Jim is talking to the casino interim manager in the kitchen, his lips look extra red... like he has lipstick on or something... it's not subtle. then there's the extra bright red light of the surveillance camera in the same scene and the word red behind his head in the casino while he's counting cards. There are others, but I'd need to watch ep 3 again to remember because halfway through I started focusing on the orange. I should know better!

There's also a red tint to the flashback scene.

Sorry if anyone's already said this. But, come to think of it, aren't blood oranges both red and orange? It's possible that it could be polychromatic answer here. Whaddaya think?

I suppose it's possible although I keep having a hard time with the fact that I was "sure " the clue was just orange until I saw the article a tthe times. Do you think they are trying to throw us off? If you had JUST watched the TV show(which you should be able to get the clue by doing), what do you think the clue would be?
In a post elsewhere, there are some who think the clue might be fire due to the orange AND red hints. I think it's a longshot but... can't rule out anything, I suppose.

I was thinking it might be something like red orange. That's definitely a possibility. Also, on the shipping manifests that the trucker had (forgot his name), several of the amounts were highlighted in red. And speaking of those manifests, did anyone else think those numbers were unreasonably low? There was nothing on there that was more than 5 dollars.

I think someone in an earlier thread said that it probably represented millions.

The deliveries were dated every Friday. The red numbers were the 2nd Friday of every month. I think that the numbers were shortened for convenience and to fit in the column. For example, we regular refered to the amount as $1.2 million before we knew the actually total. It was quicker and easier than writing $1,200,000.

Ok. That makes a lot more sense. I had been wondering about that. And another thought, what if the color is blood? The oranges are blood oranges, Jim's tatoo left bloodstains on the sheets, and someone from another board said there was a book called "Storm of Oblivion" with blood on the cover.

Oh, sorry. Had a dense moment there. Okay, Mary. I still ask however, where does that point us? Tons of things point to Mary but everything just hits a dead end from there.

Why does it have to be orange, singular? The Color of OrangeS would solve all the pesky problems with that "of" in the title.

Just to confuse things a little more, there is a quote from William Gibson's Neuromancer: "The sky above the port was the color of television, tuned to a dead channel."
Any comments?
