Congratulations to Sean Stewart The 2004 Nebula Awards finalists have been announced and Sean Stewart 's book "Perfect Circle " is in the shortlist for Best Novel!
You may remember Sean Stewart from his puppetmastery and authorship on such ARGs as "Honey, I Shrunk the AI " and "When Sexbots Attack! " No, wait, those were the Fox TV names for them...I think they were actually called ILoveBees and The Beast .
Congratulations to Sean on his nomination; I'm sure everyone here will be rooting for him in April!

Chicago Hurrah for Sean! We all know what a wonderful writer he is.
We will all be rooting for you. I'll even watch it on TV if any channel carries it. (Neal Gaiman is the Toastmaster so it should easiy beat the Grammy Awards and the Oscars for entertainment value.)
From the link that SpaceBass posted:
Quote:
The Awards will be announced at the 2004 Nebula Awards® Banquet to be held at the Allegro Hotel in the heart of Chicago's Loop Theater District on Saturday, April 30, 2005.
The Nebula Awards are held in Chicago - maybe some beekeepers, cloudmakers or generic ARG players will be able to go to the awards. He may be doing a book signing as well. I couldn't find the schedule- but they are definitely holding book signings.
edited the date to show the correct year

OOOOO! You can buy an entire table at the banquet. Maybe if enough are planning on going it would be possible?
Quote:
Full registration — including the Banquet and one drink ticket: $105 through March 31, then $130 if received in advance, $135 at the door.
Parties and Panels (everything but the Banquet and the drink ticket): $45.
<snip>
To purchase a full table, please email Lois Tilton.

booklist award Sean Stewart's Perfect Circle has been named one of the top ten Science Fiction novels for 2004 by Booklist. Congrats Sean!
And, by the way, for Perfect Circle fans I just noticed that there is an 8-page mini-comic called Family Reunion based on Perfect Circle. The graphic artist Steve Lieber ("whiteout") drew it and has a link to it on his site starting here .
Sean Stewart won't be at ARGFest (though Jane McGonigal is "moving heaven and earth to be [h]ere"). But, people (beekeepers, cloudmakers and other appreciaters of good writing) can meet him in Chicago for the Nebula awards as Phaedra posted right here .
Have fun and take pictures for us.

Perfect Circle's UK release: Firecracker Maybe the UK doesn't heart REM. They renamed "Perfect Circle" as "Firecracker" and it is being released today. Read this book. It views ghosts in a totally new and original way.. and it will remind you to never forsake your first love.
Here is some
