THANK YOU Hey Crew
- thank you SO much for the messages left on Dana's VM on the "axoniversary". I've just listened to the first 25 of them and I hear that there are more!
It's amazing that a year later you guys can still make me laugh and cry and get emotional.... I miss my crew!
I have to admit something:
I thought it would be a nice idea to change the outgoing message to something mentioning the axoniversary - and was going to IM Sean, Elan, Jim and Jane suggesting it.... but before suggesting it, I called the number and listened to the message and ... YIKES. It totally freaked me out. So I figured better leave well enough alone.
Hope everyone is doing well.

I think I can speak for a statistically significant amount of people when I say: No, no--thank you .

I think many of us had the same experience while leaving our messages. And now, being able to match a face and person to that voice made it even stranger.

Aww... Thanks, Kristen! =D
Although a lot of it is due to you that we were wanting to do this. (PS - was mine first? XD It should have been the one that was left... a long time ago. Several months, I think. If it had time/date stuff on it. Just morbidly curious.)

Heheh.
I'd told everyone I was going to send the email informing you guys that you should check the voicemail around 4:00. So, 4:00 rolled around and I was like, shoot! *I* should leave a message, too!
So, I shooed everyone out of my office (grr, they stayed right outside the door ) and briefly mentally composed a message. It was articulate and smooth.
And then I called the number.
And got Angry Suspicious Melissa.
Bye-bye composure. I forgot most of what I was going to say, too.
Thanks a lot , Kristen.

indeed, i had to call back 2 or 3 times to get into the right frame of mind, i had to keep repeating "you're calling 42, not the scary op! you're calling 42, not the scary op!"

*smiles* I just took it in stride. After all, a loyal officer isn't going to let a silly thing like time get in the way of duty, right?

Yeah, I think it just made me ramble on a little bit more than usual, but I was sorta expecting it... I think.
But as Weephun said, it's amazing to be able to put a face to the voice. I have a feeling you won't be able to get rid of us for a LONG time...

/me tries not to turn a terrible shade of green, seeing as how she's wearing a burgundy blouse today, and it just wouldn't match at all .

I wonder, since they've been digitized anyway, if the messages are going to be available to the general public.
That would rawk!

Probably not, for similiar reasons as to why we haven't gotten the gigs of live calls
People didn't give their consent to have their calls given out publically, so there's no way they can distribute them. Even if we say that they can here (I'm all for it), they'd either have to release them piece-by-piece as the authorizations came in, or they'd have to wait until they had everyone's permission and then release them all at once.
(Actually, I lie. The reason we don't have the gigs of live calls, is because they haven't gone through and edited out all the phone numbers and such that were given during them, which they can't give out for fairly obvious reasons.)

Actually, we did give consent. Melissa specifically asked each person, in some manner, if it was OK to record the information given and distribute it.
(Maybe the later calls didn't as much, since they were time-sensitive, but I personally don't know about those)

don't forget, they also released the guy who had no idea what was going on, and The Op says "This channel is not intended for you! *click*"
i'm sure he didn't give his permission

I was a lurker but was enthralled with this game. It even followed me across the country as I moved from Connecticut to Mississippi in the middle of it. That move took me away from any axons, but I was lucky enough to get my cell phone turned into an axon. Yay.
Enough reminising. I used to have number to that voicemail saved in my phone, but I've since changed phones and don't remember the number. Ack! I'd like to hear the new message. Could someone tell me the number? Thanks.
