I'll be hanging out in the grand country of Ireland those days. Sad Oh well.... I never get to go to these fun-fun events (*shares ms_gwyn's sadness*)

Have loads of fun though! Take pictures and VIDEO so we can attend vicariously through you! (that was one of the best bits of ARGfest NYC for me Very Happy)

Provided I have the available funding at that time frame, I'm down for the 21st-23rd Razz

Krystyn, is the wiki still active? Can the organizers start putting together a list of who's going to be there? There's a slight chance I might be in Chicago right around then, I won't have time for any activities if so but I'd like to know who's going to be there.

Krystyn, if I am there, cold beverages on me at the Chicago drinking establishment of your choice, even if it's Midway.

Axys, I am a million times more excited about you coming to ARGfest than I am about your current avatar! Wink

joebrent, indeed! The wiki is sleepy and slothful, but we can certainly start sprucing it up. Actually, it's open for *any* contributors, so people can make pages and lists and things to their hearts' content.

We'll get a list of attendees going, yep.

Suggestion:

Someone buy argfest.com. That way we can use it yearly with subdomains, like 2005.argfest.com, 2006.argfest.com, etc.

Have people started looking at airfares/hotels? Yes, it's 5½ months away, but those of us w/families and/or on a tight budget (like myself) probably want to get it squared away now, the prices are only going to go up (and, in fact, the price of one hotel I was looking at went up a few $ in the middle of my search :/ )

This may be a discussion for the wiki, but do any of you Chicagoans know anything about the Club Quarters, Wacker? Great location and price, from the looks of it.

While not a Chicagoan myself, I stayed at this Holiday Inn in December:
http://www.ichotelsgroup.com/h/d/hi/1/en/hd/chicc?irs=y

It was clean and well-located. Rates for late July seem to be in the $160 range, which isn't bad for downtown.

Dunno if I'll be there myself yet, as I'm organizing with a few other people. But its an option.

That Wacker one looks pretty nice, but the site mentions that it is members only. Or do you know a way around that?

As for airfare, I'm waiting for Southwest to start taking reservations that far out before I decide.

I'm a fan of Homewood Suites -- great location right downtown, in/out parking privileges, and very nice little suites. Also, the Amazing Hilton Mattresses. Smile

I know we stayed in a room with a king-size bed (and pull-out couch) for a little over $100 a night last month. However, their summer rates look a bit pricier. Confused Those are the normal rates, though. If you can do better through a discount site, I highly recommend the place.

Ooh I stayed there last summer. Very nice indeed, but I could only afford it at special convention rates. Alas. But on the up side, they include a buffet dinner most nights of the week.
