Well, my opinion doesn't really mean much (since unless it was within walking distance of my house, I won't be attending ARGFest any time soon Crying or Very sad ) but an idea just occured to me. Seems that alot of North American ARGers can't make it over to Europe and alot of Europeans can't make it over seas either. So my suggestion is...why not hold two? Simultanious ARGFests in, I guess, Chicago and Amsterdam. I'm sure that the attendance wouldn't drop in anyway (as most people going to one would never be able to go to the other) and with all the cool satilite technology and whatnot, I'm sure you could do some video conferancing for the other half! Not to mention, twice the events and twice the fun.

Anyways...just a thought. Wink

Well, I was hoping for Las Vegas (damn I love that place), but I'm in for Chicago. Are we thinking about a timeframe yet?

My vote goes for Chicago; anything outside the US is a bust for me, and Chicago is my kind of town.

I assumed next July for the next ARGFest-O-Con. July is a lovely time to visit Chicago and have a teleconference with a European sister Fest-O-Con.

I might not be able to go in any case, so don't take this too seriously, but is a very late May or very early September timeslot totally out of the question?

Wow, it's been a long time since I've been around here. Stupid real life interfering with my alternate reality... /me mumbles...

Anyways, I'm all for Chicago. If I don't want to drive, I can always opt to take an Amtrak. It's not a really big trip for me, and I could probably persuade a friend or two to come along with me.

don't really have a suggestion for a location. Only thing i can say is that the earlier it's decided the easy it is for people who have to travel a long way. Also if some of the activities can be listed it would help attract people, but now it's becoming marketing...

Screw Chicago!

Just kiddin.

I'm all for having AFOCv6.0 (ARG Fest-O-Con Version 6.0) in my backyard. I'm also up for helping plan it. (Although my knowledge of "deep" city spots or places where people congregate are not my forte. But I'd be all for helping plan transit, or of course, planning actual events as long as I'm not choosing locations Smile) But here's the Dorkster giving a big Hell Yes to Chicago in '06!

EDIT: Also, the convergence of Jamesi and Dorkmaster will most likely result in the end of the known universe and therefore we must work to make this happen Smile. And I'll be DAMNED if Krystyn and I don't FINALLY meet after living no more than a half hour away from each other for years now... Rolling Eyes

2nd EDIT: I also humbly suggest a "theme" to the "advertising" of this year's meet... Old "repurposed" propoganda! How cool is that? I don't have time right now, but I'm quite interested in seeing what you kids come up with (if it's ok by the community that we go in that direction of course...) Or we go with the Chicago/Mob thing. That's kind of a cop-out, but it will suffice. (I mean, they did go with the whole Statue of Liberty thing for NY, so why not, right?) ANYWAY, can you tell I'm really excited about this, already? CHICAGO 2006! YAY!!! Geek

Late May/early September is good for weather here, too.

All my love to NYC, but I tell you that July in Manhattan is kind of a quirky hell, and I'd rather not be exhausted and melty around some of my very favorite people in the world, especially with the late hours and the various Things To Do And See.

July in Chicago is much the same. Hot, draining at times. Some of you people from other climes may thrive in that, but I am all about snowball fights and hot cocoa and cold rain and and and.

OMG, yes. I really don't want to be stinky and sweaty when I meet all of you this time.
