Put me down as a "go" for Reza's and the Neofuturists. (Both menus look intriguing.)

-- Steve'll now bustle over to the wiki and make his mark there.

I made my mark on the wiki, but I'm up for both the restaurant and the theatre. I like the idea of ordering off the menu because as much as I like trying New Things, deep down I'm a meat and potatoes guy and if the menu is expensive, I'd rather go with tried and true. Smile So, since it sounds like we're going with a standard res and not the banquet room, do you still need $$ down? If so, please let me (us) know how much and your preferred tender (paypal, check, huge piles of gold...).

Since I wimped out on the lateness of the Neofuturists show after Kristenmeet, I am quite excited for the show this time! Thanks for the planning! Please let me know if I can help plan at all. I wouldn't mind taking an impromptu drive to Chi-town between now and ARGfest!

Isn't the Chicago museum having their Tutankhamen exhibit this year?

I, for one, would be interested in checking that out over the weekend at some point. Is anyone else interested?

According to the field museum website, general admission is 12 bucks, with 25 more for the Tut bit.

Crazy summer hours for the Field Museum means that it's open at 7:30AM on that Sunday. Last admissions are at 4PM.

Just a reminder to everyone that I am placing a normal reservation at Reza's tomorrow for the people who have indicated on the wiki that they'd like to go.

You are certainly welcome to come along, should you decide later that you wanna come eat all manner of kabobs with us, but you will not be guaranteed a spot at the reserved table, so just be aware!

Thanks!

I received an email over the weekend regarding our group reservation where they offered a possible amenity upgrade to the rooms (for free). They didn't indicate what exactly that meant so it could mean we'd each get an extra mint on the pillow. Wink So if anyone is interested in a mysterious free amenity email the name that the room was reserved under to argfest06SPLATgmail.com and I'll add you to the list. I'll be emailing them back with the list tomorrow night (Tuesday).

Hi, everyone!

I have canceled the banquet room reservation, and made a normal reservation for 20 people at Reza's, on the 22nd, at 7PM.

(It's actually two tables of 10, but that was the best I could do before the manager started pushing me towards banquet prices again - he assured me that this was to provide better service to us, since it will be busy.)

N.B.: We'll likely have two checks for the meals (one for each table), but be ready for that -- this means, take into account beverages you may order, appetizers you may have split with someone else, and gratuity added to the entire bill for a party of that size. Thanks!

If you have not confirmed on the wiki that you are coming to Reza's, you are currently not accounted for in that party of 20.

I was gonna say something about how it would be awesome if it were free wi-fi, but then I noticed they have that anyway Razz

C'mon, free access to the mini-bar...

I was all set to fly up. Then I looked at the ticket prices. But it is really hard to justify $400+ for two days and one night ($200-250 I could have done). I really tried, I really want to see old buddies and new friends. But I can't do the Priceline bit since I have to fly out after 5p on Friday and don't want to leave before 5p on Sunday.

I'm bumming out right now. Crying or Very sad

I found roundtrip tickets for $309, including taxes and fees. That was LV to Midway. Could you do that price?

So what ideas are there for Sunday Brunch and Saturday lunch?

A deep dish pizza place almost seems proper, though given the portions there'd have to be plenty of appetites.

The timing was way off. I can't get off work early enough for the absolute cheapest flights. I have to take a redeye. And then I don't want to leave early Sunday but I can't stay over until Monday (have to work on Monday). Else, I could do $300 (but not $309 plus tax, airport fees, etc).
Yeah, I looked at Southwest to Midway. Missed out on the cheapest fares by a month (I think). Thanks for looking.

I'll think about it again tonight.

Deep-dish on Sunday sounds good to me... that's how the Hivemeet capped off for me (and a select few) last year!

-- Steve's thinking it'd be just a little strange to visit the Windy City and not have one at some point or another.
