Weather Update:

It's really hot here right now.

Not as hot as it could be, but the humidity's thick, so it's not the most comfortable weather in the world. Right now, at 9:45AM, it's 83F, with ~70% humidity, which is ... ehhhhh. It's supposed to reach 97F later today.

The extended forecast shows a significantly cooler temp range (low 80's as a high, mid-60's as a low), but the humidity may still provide some stickiness.

Wear clothes that breathe, and have a little extra pocket change so that you can purchase bottles of water as you travel around - keeping hydrated is very important.

(Conversely, if the temps are dropping into the 60's at night, you may wish to keep a hoodie or light jacket on hand, just in case, depending on your personal tolerance for various climes.)

ETA: It looks to be a bit cloudy, in the extended forecast, but you may wish to have sunglasses or a brimmed hat on hand. If you're planning on outdoor activities, bring some lotion with a decent SPF.

ARG Museum?

Um...I have an ILB T-shirt with the signatures of all the PMs and four of the voice talents. Um...some newspaper articles about the game...And a deck of Gun playing cards with the Aces signed by PMs. But that's about it.

I think I can bring some of the swag from the LCP Graveyard event here in DC. I think I have the holster, as well as the cloth notes, and a full set of LCP chips.

I'd be up for chipping in a few bucks for an ARG Museum.

I've got an LCP t-shirt and the hymnal used in one of the site's puzzles, so I'll be bringing those to show off. I'll throw in my set of LCP chips too if I remember.

I am furiously searching the CTA website for its policy regarding clowns as baggage, rather than as additional riders.

Otherwise, I'll bring my piece of the LCP Gun, and various other thingies.

The only remotely special swag I have to bring is one of the six LCP holsters.

hey all! I'm excited to say that my travel plans are now set in stone, and I'll be able to make it! w00t! Very Happy

So now I just have one loose end to tie up. Does anyone have a spot in the hotel that's still free so I can split the cost a bit, for Friday and Saturday night? I want to hang around with y'all Smile

So, I'm meeting up with Anton P. Nym Thursday, and arriving Friday night in Chicago with him... but in order for me to get back to work in time for Monday, I've got to catch the 7:30am Amtrak out of Chicago to Detroit, so unfortunately I'll have to bid y'all farewell a little early. Sad

As for swag, I've got a few (fairly insignificant) things I could bring for the room... the ILB DVD, the Lanyard, a couple cafepress items, a few Perplex City cards, if I can find my Regenesis envelope then the rabbit hole I was sent for its ARG, and maybe even my Xbox 360 Zero Hour faceplate (from Hex168, though technically mine had nothing to do with the competition itself Razz, it probably has more value in that Weephun sent it to me because I couldn't make it to the event Wink)... So yeah, I dunno. That's about all I've got.

But anyway... I need a room in the hotel! Anyone have room, or know of someone who does? pleeeease, gotta know asap, before friday Smile

Aw, shucks. Now that I'm back from my vacation, the only time I have to catch up on ARGFest-o-Con and CtW is at work. Too bad for me. Rolling Eyes

Oh, dude, the weather broke, and the forecasts are a lot more bearable.

It'll be in the low 80's this weekend, dropping to the mid 60's, but the range is shifted down a bit, and humidity looks a lot more manageable. Coming home today from work was pure bliss compared to yesterday.

BYOSP Contest!!

As many of you have heard at #unfiction or on various LiveJournals, the EGo/Thunderclap/INCyr/Ubersaurus/Caspian room has been entitled the BYOSP room.

But what, you may ask is the "SP" of which we speak? Snakes on a Plane? Smashing Pumpkins? Sleeping Princess?

Alas, it is none of the above. But, the 5 members of this room have decided that whoever is the first to guess what SP refers to will get an SP awarded to them. Call it an official ARGFest-o-Con 2006 contest if you will. Or if you won't.

Official Rules: There are none. Just guess. And no cheating by reading our minds.

Stumpy Puzzle? Mr. Green

SP always means Sleeping Princess, even if you think it doesn't.
