Got home a little after midnight - have to work today but before I forget, I wanted to get these out of my brain:

At dinner Sunday night we were trying to come up with the tagline for this event.

ARGFest '06: Geeks on a Train

ARGFest '06: What are the Odds?

ARGFest '06: SpacePimp!

ARGFest '06: Have you tried the Potatoes?

Pictures will be properly tagged and loaded tonight.

Hugs to all!!

My personal tagline was "Oh god, I'm not going to make it on time" since for just about everything I went to, from Friday morning to Sunday night, I ended up with only 5-10 minutes to spare.

I think Thunderclap's mascots for the event would be tokka and rahzar.

I fell in love with Faygo Candy Apple, and it broke my heart.

I thoroughly enjoyed meeting y'all, and I am so sorry that I was not there long enough to properly meet you all well enough.

(Amber and EGo, I'm specifically thinking that we didn't talk enough... same with Spacely and sadly, others...)

Dinner was awesome, and it was a distinct pleasure to dine with those that I did. I had a great time, though it was short, and I am glad I went, despite all that's going on right now in the life of DM.

Glad to hear everyone's travels turned out safe and well (if not long and tiring), and I'll hopefully have things turned around enough to meet y'all at "ARGFest 2007 - GEEKS IN SPACE!"

Edit: And thank you thunderclap8 and caspianx for your kind, generous introduction to the DS Lite. Now I understand the fury and fear of rockets and bananas, and I am forever grateful/scarred. It was fun!

Aawww... Yeah, it would have been nice to get to know you a bit better, but I understand about not having enough hours in the day. Am glad to have met you!

See? There was a reason I wondered if I'd murdered you in my sleep when you disappeared.

Almost home; I'm posting from the Windsor station, having been tired/bored enough to spring for the in-station Wi-Fi access. Man, the weekend was AWESOME; I love getting together with you guys, you're a great bunch to visit a city with. (I wonder how long it'll take the construction crews to put it back together again?)

-- Steve'll post more tomorrow, after going through photos and getting precious, precious sleep...

Does anyone remember who took a photo of a bunch of us around a payphone at the Blue Line station? I'd love to get ahold of a copy.

haha! I almost did the same! Smile I was in the process of ordering (hit submit on the form), when for some reason I lost connection, and it turned up dns error. I just said forget it and left it. hehe. there was one open wifi but it had 0% connection and I couldn't do anything with it... picked up one connection that was intended for mcdonald's users though (subscription as well).
But alas, I just braved the wait for the train...

What fun Very Happy

Highlights:

  • Deep dish @ Gino's East. Whole different animal than NY pizza, but really great all the same.
  • Karaoke. Some of you guys really can sing, which for some reason really surprised me. Oh and that one guy who sang Britney...can't remember his name, but it rhymes with chadeaux.
  • Going into a giggling fit with krystyn. Man did that feel good.
  • The DS Crew - anytime, anyplace, that's your motto.
  • Arg Pimp - like it needed to be said.

Big ups to krystyn and crew for setting it up, and a HUGE thanks to Aliendial for all the rides, plus we still owe you for the booze...I'll get it next time.

Obligatory photos link: http://www.flickr.com/photos/bags33/sets/72157594210836265/. PM me if you want any of them in hi-res.

Good times, good times....

Just to let you all know, I updated the main page of the ARGFest wiki to keep all the links to pictures in one place.
